Just spent a week at Hammocks and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Smaller resort but had all the ammenities(pool, hot tub, bbq's, tiki bar, hammocks, ocean front, dock, rental equipment, gym) and friendly staff. We had a one bedroom suite which has a small but well equipped kitchen, our room faced north so it did not have a view but it was very private off the deck. We bought fish daily at Keys Fisheries and grilled them at the resort. On of our favorite things at the resort was to go down to the docks when the fishing boats come in. Once they start cleaning fish the pelicans, tarpon, and sharks swarm the docks. My only suggestion for the resort would be to put felt pads on the kitchen chair legs as when the suite above us moved thier chairs on the tile is was very loud. Overall we had an awesome week thank you Hammock's.

Enjoyed our stay. We drove to Key West, visited the turtle hospital, dolphin research center, sombrero beach etc. The sight and sounds theater is a must when here. Grounds were besutiful, enjoyed seeing the fish at the pier when the fishermen were taking care of their fish. We had a great visit!

This place exceeded our expectations! It was so gorgeous and relaxing, and we felt 117 was the best room in the villa! The king sized bed was extremely comfortable and the pull out queen sized couch bed was also good, and we loved the balcony view overlooking the water, hammocks on the sand, and the pool. We also heard no outside noise from inside our room, so no guests bothered us! The doors in our room were pretty hard to open and always a bit stuck, and I would love some vegan breakfast and dairy-free frozen cocktail options, but everyone in my group absolutely loved this place, and I appreciated the birthday card left in my room and the complimentary Florida Keys honey was a nice touch.

Although this resort was nice in most ways, the pool area was NOT one of their priorities, AT ALL! Like many of us staying at the Hammocks, we used the pool for a few hours each day of our stay. While in the pool, we noticed debris floating & submerged, which is normal; however, we were in the pool when it first opened & noticed this. This should have been addressed by the staff at the beginning of the day, & NOT when it's filled with guests. Well, both of our calls to the front desk were given lip service & a half-hearted apology, with the girl telling me at one point, "I'll do my best." After an hour or so, we saw a resort employee enter the pool area, look around the pool for about 5 seconds, then leave the area while making a cell phone call (presumably to the front desk?), & never to return. It should be noted that, when I originally called, I reported cigarette butts floating by my head, which this employee didn't even look for! DISGUSTING! Another guest also went to the front desk to complain about the dirty pool, & spoke with a male employee there, who said, "Maybe it's from the construction that's going on around the hotel." Now, there WAS construction going on, but it was in FRONT of the hotel, on the parking lot area. And even if that was the cause, is that an excuse to NOT have the pool skimmed? We're very upset that guests' complaints were totally ignored by the staff, & we will probably not return to this resort...

Spent 5 nights feet from the water in a beautiful one bedroom villa. Accomodations were excellent, great kitchen and roomy bathroom. Lots of room to hang out in our room during CoVid pandemic. Management went out of their way to provide safety - masks mandatory inside, extra cleaning, plenty of hand sanitizer stations. Service was excellent with an upbeat positive staff.

Sunsets were spectacular, with a cannon salute and a sunset shot for the adults at the dockside tiki restaurant. Food and drinks were good and offered at a reasonable price. Entertainment was top notch. Great vibe that captured the spirit of the Keys. Boat rentals adjacent and charter boats on the dock. With all this activity parking can be a little difficult with only 4 or 5 handicap spots that are shared with boat charter people.

This is a very pleasant place to stay. It is very clean and comfortable. The staff carefully practice social distancing and always wear masks. We could hear the room above us, but it wasn’t enough to complain about. The only real let-down was the staff advising us that there is a restaurant on site. It’s a tiki bar with bar food, beer, and frozen wine cooler type drinks. It’s a nice little bar, but I sure wouldn’t advertise it as a restaurant. Regardless, we will return to the Hammocks on our next visit.

On short notice (about a week before) we were able to snag two rooms here. One studio, and a one bedroom. This was prefect for our party. Having use of a kitchen we were able to save some money and also create a home base. The only down fall is very little counter space, but most people using it probably don't need much more than provided.
The rooms were clean and comfortable. The space was adequate. The bed was so heavenly I slept in longer than planned (that doesn't usually happen)
The Hot tub is pretty small and it was full every time we wanted to use it.
I am still rating this place a 5 star, there was always hot drinks available in the lobby, the staff were extremely responsive, the rooms itself met our needs, and the location was everything. This location was absolutely perfect.
This resort is also very close to both Winn Dixie and Publix, easy to grab groceries and other necessities.
On my profile is a link to my blog if anyone is headed down to the Key's and wants more details/ itinerary ideas. Close by here and not to miss is Sombrero Beach and Crane Point Hammock. Of course we spent time in both Key West and Islamorada, but Marathon is a great midway point and close to so many wonderful spots.

Had a great stay at Marathon. This was our 2nd trip and have no complaints or issues with the resort. Our room, 317, had a spectacular view of the pool and bay. The Bluegreen colleagues were extremely quick to respond to all requests and check in was a breeze. The only complaint that we have (no fault of Bluegreen) were the inconsiderate guests at the pool. There are signs that say you cannot “reserve or save” chairs. However, almost every table and lounge chair had a towel and stuff on it and a handful of swimmers. While in the pool, I heard a couple say they were going up to their room to eat lunch. I “borrowed “ 1 of the 3 empty chairs and was quickly told by the lady at the next table (with 3 additional empty chairs) that seat was “saved”. To her surprise, I told her nobody was sitting in it and I would put it back when I was finished. An hour later, the couple returned from lunch and I gave them “their” chair back. They said, “oh that’s okay, we only need 2”. So my question to guests, why are we taking more than we need? Or even saving thing that are meant to be available for many? Inconsiderate? Now I’m an adult and really “borrowed “ their empty sitting chair out of principal but there was a 2 year old baby girl without any shade from the sun. Just a reminder, be a considerate guest so we can all enjoy the property. The last time I saved a seat was in grade school. You don’t own chairs so don’t park your stuff at the pool at 0800 until 10 pm.

The Hammocks at Marathon is a great place to stay for a family of four. We stayed in a two bedroom with my husband’s parents and it had a decent sized kitchen and living room; maybe not big enough to cook meals and dine in, but good for making your coffee and teas, and snacking on leftovers. Although it was two bedrooms, only one of the bedrooms had a king sized bed—the other had two twin sized beds that you could push together if you wanted to sleep next to your significant other; it’s really a bedroom made more for two kids. The hotel itself was very clean, as were the grounds. It’s well manicured and maintained and sits right on the water. Our room didn’t have much of a view as we looked out to a parking lot and the other bedroom had a room with a window facing the indoor hallway which was kind of odd. The rooms do not include a washer and dryer, but there is a shared laundry room with one washer and dryer—just don’t wait until Thursday to do your laundry because it’s occupied most of the day since many people stay for 5 nights or a week and tend to check out on Friday. There is a pool and a hot tub, not very big but still clean—and there is a dock behind the hotel with hammocks, a restaurant, and boats that you can book excursions & tours with. The staff were very friendly and helpful—they offered us extra towels for our boat trip and even let us borrow a cooler for our drinks. We particularly enjoyed the coffee machine in the lobby which makes cappuccinos, lattes, espressos, tea, hot chocolate, and regular coffee. Overall, this is a great location—especially if you are looking to bounce around and explore the different keys; it’s just an hour from key largo and an hour from key west—with plenty of great restaurants and things to do in the surrounding area.

We visited The Hammocks at Marathon in Marathon Key, Florida, a Blue Green Vacation club hotel in October. The location is outstanding, both for getting there and for the proximity of nearby amenities. The place stands out for its cleanliness, tranquility, and fascinating surroundings - which include contact with the sea and spectacular sunsets. The room has everything you need to make life as comfortable as at home. The treatment we received was extremely professional, friendly, and efficient. The facility has a barbecue area, extremely well-equipped and clean. The poolside bar includes live music on some evenings.
