Stayed there 4 nights last December and wanted to stay longer but had to return to Belgium for X-mas. Andi at the reception is amazing: soooo friendly and helpful.
Although close to US1, the locaction is so peaceful with fantastic view over the ocean.
The weather could have been better (warmer and more sun) so we didn’t use the nice swimming pool or the kayaks but instead we used the bikes a lot. Drove to the 7-mile bridge and Sombrero beach.
Room is simple but with all the necessary amenities (fridge/tv/fans/airco/coffee maker/shower in the bathtub...). Outside in front of the room: table/chairs/BBQ and an open gas fire! Top!!!

We stayed here for a week. It was wonderful. It is off of the main road so you feel like you are in the islands enjoying peace and quite. It was never crowded as there are 12 guest rooms. We had #9 which was like a one bedroom apartment. We were able to dock the boat on site using their private ramp. If you dock your boat at their private dock there is an additional fee but it is reasonable. We were able to park the trailer as well. The property is very secure. The staff is very friendly and helpful. They are not cleaning rooms everyday due to covid but if you ask the person at the front desk for your room to be cleaned they will do it. There is a nice courtyard with a fire pit and grills if you want to cook your own food. The pool was great and had wonderful views of the beach. There was seaweed so swimming wasn't an option but you could go out in the water if you had watersocks. Enjoyed sitting in hammocks on their beach at night watching the heat lightening. We will be back!

Sometimes we seek a “subtraction vacation” with fewer amenities and crowds. We have experienced hundreds of those all around the world. For this trip we sought a basic, clean and well-located place, and we found it in Seascape. Only 12 rooms and, luckily for us, only a few were occupied due to covid. The ocean-front grounds are huge and the place is dead quiet due to its location away from the road and within a neighborhood. We stayed for a week, rented “cruiser” bikes and happily pedaled on the safe sidewalks to restaurants and to buy groceries. What is not here is luxury, sandy beaches, bar/restaurant, high rise ocean-front rooms, fitness center, room service, pretentiousness, loud pool parties, Jimmy Buffet songs playing in the lobby, etc. Also not found here are the exorbitant prices charged by other “boutique” hotels in Marathon.
Our pod coffee maker delivered a fresh cup each morning which we enjoyed in the Adirondack chairs overlooking the ocean. Likewise a cold beer from our mini fridge at the end of a day. We really enjoyed the relaxed pace of venturing out on the cruiser bikes, kayaking or scuba diving, and walking the adjoining “real Florida” neighborhood. There may come a time when a billionaire buys this property (happily it is not for sale) and builds an oceanfront mansion on it. That would be a travesty, as Seascape, which was built in the 1950’s, reflects Florida’s tourist legacy. If you want to experience a wonderful “subtraction vacation” you may want to plan a visit to Seascape before it is gone.

My wife and I stayed here on our trip to the Keys. The location was great and convenient. We took two day trips down to Key West which was just an hour drive away and the drive was beautiful from here. This location also made the drive back from and back to FLL much easer. Marathon has plenty of activities to add an additional day with snorkeling, the aquarium, and the Dolphin Research center nearby. We didn't take advantage of the Kayaks but it we did enjoy some time on the little beach, which offered an excellent view of the sunrise in the morning. The property was nice and quiet and the room was spacious. The only complaint I can have is the AC wasn't quite strong enough to cool off our entire room with the bathroom area and table and chairs, but that was easy enough by closing the bedroom door it kept the bedroom nice and cool for us. The beach isn't one to walk out into the water with and sometimes you get seaweed that washed up into the shore but it's nothing that is uncommon for the area. Andi checked us in and was great! She showed us our room, provided a map of the area with recommendations for places to eat and visit and gave us all the details on the areas. It was nice not having to worry about a crowded property with fighting to use any amenities. I would stay here again for sure.

We chose to stay in Marathan, rent a car, and drive up and down the Keys for our trip. Everything is a day trip away from here. This property is fantastic! The grounds are immaculate. Every little detail outside is maintained beautifully. Daily, they rake the seaweed from the shore and even rake the sandy area. There will always be some seaweed in the Keys and the smell is everywhere, but very minimal here. You don't notice it at all sitting on the dock. There is a very small area to enter the water for swimming, kayaking, or paddleboarding. Being on the Atlantic side, there is often a strong east wind. This makes it difficult to kayak and paddleboard. We had a couple quiet wind mornings and paddleboarded. The equipment is a bit beat up, but plenty good enough to use casually. The pool is also very well maintained, always perfectly clean. Nice lounge chairs and umbrellas as well. When tired, we simply stayed here and relaxed. Plenty of amenities to let you lounge, whether on the sandy area, on the docks, or by the pool.

The front office was great whenever we needed more towels. There is a coffee maker and a small refrigerator in the office area. This was stocked with free water, beers, and wine. The water cooler there was also a wonderful resource. We had a one bedroom with a king sized bed. The room was very clean and comfortable. Initially I was worried about noise, neighbors and airport across the main highway, but it was very quiet. The property is far enough off of the main highway so you don't hear any traffic. I even forgot there was an airport across the highway, it was very quiet.

I would strongly recommend this property and would stay here again and again.

I'm conflicted! I want to rave about this resort, but I also want to keep it a secret for me & my husband! Although, I do want it to stay in business, so I best relay my experience for others. I booked directly with the resort, and we were delighted to discover the resort looked exactly like the photos on their website. The resort is off the main Overseas Highway, so it's quiet & peaceful, and the rooms are very clean and updated and contain all the essentials we needed, like toiletries, a fridge & microwave, & even beach towels. There is also a deep freezer for use with fishing, a freezer with ice, and several grills for cooking. We loved getting coffee in the lobby (they had gourmet flavors) and having free access to bikes & kayaks. We biked to breakfast every morning and for ice cream later on. The owner Ted, and his staff, especially Andy, were so friendly and helpful, and we look forward to coming here again! We were celebrating our 20th wedding anniversary, and they upgraded us to a bigger room at no additional charge! Hopefully next time we can bring our boat or rent one, because this resort has a direct boat launch with ample free parking. The beach area is beautiful and private, and the pool is clean and refreshing. And it's so close to everything, including a grocery store, drug store, and so many places to eat. We were so lucky to have discovered Seascape Resort & Marina! I want to work here when I retire.

The location and amenities are great! I stayed in room 7 which looks like it use to be a storage closet. Size of the room was fine but there was no smoke detector, no dresser or really anywhere to set things other than the small table and at night the blue light that flickers outside the window can make it a little difficult to go to sleep.
The boat ramp is a little steep especially on low tide. Depending on the size of your boat you may not be able to launch on low tide. We unfortunately paid the extra to have our boat there but had to pay another marina to launch at there location. Cute place, I would return but not stay in the same room. Staff were friendly and place was really clean.

We had such a lovely time at Seascape Resort! My partner and I value privacy in our travel accommodations above all else and this was perfect for us. We loved reading on the small beach, stargazing in the hammocks, and swimming in the pool. The beachside cabana was clean, comfortable and spacious. This is a great, affordable place to stay that really allows you to relax and be serene.

Even though we booked last minute for a business trip, they were able to accommodate us for the 1 night we needed. We found the property in a beautiful location on the ocean and it was very well kept. There was a small marina for fishing or sport boats, a private beach with chairs, a very clean pool and free parking. The room was clean and comfortable and our door and balcony faced the water only 20 feet from the pool. We really liked the quiet setting and hope to return some day soon.

Found through booking.com last minute for a one night stay due to a problem with our scheduled rental house further down in Cudjoe Key. Our party of 4 adults, a 9 year old and an 8 month old stayed here comfortably. Room was spacious, clean, and comfy. AC was cold on a record hot day. Location/facilities/grounds were gorgeous!! Andi and Jenn were friendly, kind, and helpful. We all joked that we wished we’d been staying here for the whole week. We had already recommended Seascape to two friends before we checked out, and we will be back for sure.

Manatees are typically around in May. You may see some larger fish off the dock. The dock is lit up at night and it lights the water up below the dock. It’s a great place to go and relax.
