I've lost count on our trips to this resort so it must be obvious that we love it there. Its typical keys living.. unpresumptuous and laid back. The resort is spotless and has a full sized heated pool with a small bar. The rooms have fully equipped kitchens, and the staff from the owner to the service maids are very friendly and willing to help in any way. There are a multitude of good eating establishment and large grocery stores in the immediate area. If you like to fish they have guide service available on site. Captain Jocob Hill, Into The Skinny Charters, who specializes on the bay side and Everglades Park and Captain Chris On The Reef fishing. I love fishing for snapper on the bay side.

The attention to detail made our stay at this resort a very positive experience. we have travelled fairly extensively over the last 10+ years and I have to say that the reception we received upon our arrival is one of the best experiences we have ever had. In addition to a bright friendly and welcoming smile, we were offered Champagne and provided with an orientation to the resort. The resort itself is rustic but very well maintained, the rooms clean and comfortable. The grounds are meticulous and I liked that use of these grounds is limited to room guests only; could not have visitors. Our 2nd night was a Thursday night and they had a great local singer/musician by the pool during happy hour.

This is the place for you if you're tired of the corporate run, overcrowded, hotel style vacationing with tacked on resort fee's. Owners Jim and Sara do a wonderful job of maintaining an "Old Florida Keys Feel" property that makes you feel like you're living in the Keys not just visiting it. The fact that you can really socially distance by renting cottages was a big plus as we weren't ready to book a crowded hotel style resort. The owners and the staff (shout out to Amanda, Jessica and Leslie) couldn't have been friendlier. The grounds are immaculate and landscaped beautifully with orchids growing on trees all over. We liked the large sea grape tree down by the beach that provided great shade during the day being as after living in Florida over 30 years we've had enough sun already. There are kayaks, bikes and paddle boards to rent and two docks that offer a nice prop for beautiful sunrise photo's. There are all different types of rooms you can rent but our cottage really had us feeling like we were living right there as a local. It was well equipped and had plenty of windows for a real open feel. We're glad we found this place and will surely be back!

Be careful with this place. They canceled my reservation 3 hours before check in without any reason on Labor weekend, unable to speak with management. Very rude staff. Worst customer service. Too expensive for the service provided.
I had a good deal with a third party booking company. Their rate was much higher, when I called the hotel they told that the room I wanted was no longer available, I explained that third party had it published for $254., they told me book with them because they could not give me that rate and then they canceled on the day of arrival more likely they sold my room to someone else for a higher rate.

My husband and I grew up in Florida in the 50’s . Its palm-lined sandy lane, swept daily, and its colorful cottages lead you to the pool and a massive seagraoe tree, where lawn chairs overlook the ocean. It’s the quietness and the peaceful landscaping surrounding the cottages that provide its tranquility. For a bonus, there’s live music on the weekend and hotel barbecues to avoid Islamorada’s dinner crowds. To top it off, Magda, the manager, will provide all the help you need.
Perfect getaway for couples or families.

I was supposed to stay here in April 2021 but due to Covid I had to cancel.

I booked our stay through Booking.com with a free cancellation and refund. When I made my booking I also did a room upgrade but got charged double deposit, I contacted the hotel who apologised and gave back my refund within a couple of days, fair enough.

I cancelled my April booking on 10th January 2021 and was told I would receive my refund with 15 working days, however 21 working days later still no refund!

I contacted Booking.com who rang the hotel on my behalf and they were told the finance system had gone down hence no refund, SO I waited another week and still no refund! I contacted Booking.com again who rang the hotel again but did not get an answer. Meanwhile I made a fake booking via Booking.com again and guess what, they’re still taking bookings so clearly no problem with finance system!!!

By this point I’m fuming! I contacted Booking.com again this week (26/02/2021) and I have finally received my refund but via Booking.com and NOT the hotel!!!

I’m so disappointed that I’ve had such a bad experience as, reading through all the reviews on various sites Pines and Palms really does sound idilic BUT this experience has made me regret booking it in the first place! I’m glad we’re not staying there now as I feel this wouldn’t have been the experience we had hoped for.

Let me start with the good.......... the staff was very pleasant and accommodating. The grounds were well maintained. The hurricane left a real mess with mounds of sargassum weed. They had a crew on site as soon as the storm cleared and had the grounds looking spiffy in one day.
Now, the accommodations. I stayed in a single bedroom cottage. First impression it looked great, three rooms with full kitchen, that's until you get a look at the bathroom. The entire room was approx 5'X7' and contained a sink, a toilet and a walled in shower. The shower was a claustrophobic 30"X30". You could not lift your elbows without hitting wall. That wasn't the worst part. The control valve protruded out from the wall about 4 inches and the mix valve did not work properly. If you tried to adjust it down from scalding, the pressure would drop off when the temp dropped off. It was impossible to move in the cubicle without bumping into the handle and even the slightest bump turn the water to scalding hot with a mere 1/4" of movement. I liked the resort and staff but the room...........never again.

We spent 4 days at Pines and Palms looking for a place we could totally unwind. It was everything we needed: lovely beach and views, heated pool, friendly and accommodating staff and lots of peace and quiet. The location is only 1 1/2 from Miami, so was easy to get to. They property is well maintained and you can walk around barefoot, if you so choose. We met other guests that have been coming for years, and we have already booked for 2021. You can choose from over 50 local restaurants or use the kitchenette in your unit. Publix will delivery groceries to the resort, if you don't want to go out. The sunrises were amazing. Can't wait to go back. Don't miss going to Midway Cafe, a short five minute walk for coffee and breakfast.

The resort is as clean and pristine as shown on the website! Before anyone was outside in the morning, the ground staff was grooming the sand in front of the cottages and beachfront area, which always looked immaculate. We had the King Studio cottage, which was both spacious and airy. Outdoor sitting under the awning was so welcome for hanging out, playing cards, socializing, and enjoying wearing wet beachwear. The saltwater heated pool was warm and pleasant.
Inside, the bedding mattress was comfortable and gave an excellent night's sleep. The kitchenette was sufficient, with the microwave getting the most use heating up leftovers. The room's airflow was directed by your choice/combination of wall fan, AC, or ceiling fan.
The manager on duty, Lupe, helped me beforehand from home with booking a boat trip and forwarded my number to Captain Ian to finalize the details. That he did! He called me at home in the States and listened to our concerns about having a baby on board. He created a modified custom excursion touring the white mangroves, stopping at a clean sandbar, and viewing the sunset! That was a unique highlight for us! Lupe was charming, always available in the office, and helped with restaurant advice, too.
Sunrises and sunsets were beautiful to view, and alone would fill a photobook from the trip! We heartily recommend booking here, and we will be returning!

This was our second stay here while visiting Islamorada. You can’t beat the location, and picture perfect setting at this resort. What we love the most is when we open the doors in the morning sand is just off the porch and we have a perfect view of the ocean. We celebrate thanksgiving here too so having the kitchen there is key, especially with kids. The pool is warm too!! One of our favorite parts too is when the owners are there, they have bought everyone pizza and had a little party with the live music for all of the guests. You just really don’t find that at any other resort. We will be back next year!
