We arrived half an hour before checkin and were greeted by a friendly person. Our room wasn't ready so we went to eat and left our luggage with the front desk person. There was no closet for the luggage, so all of our belongings were just sitting next to the front desk. I felt uncomfortable leaving our things out in the open, but we had no choice. We returned to the hotel around 5:00pm (an hour after check in time) but our room was still not ready. It was cleaned and ready around 5:15, over an hour past check in time. The lodge is comprised of several former houses or small businesses they purchased. It is on a main road that looked more like a local commuter road than a nice vacation location. Our room was in a building across the busy street from the front desk/breakfast area and pool. We were traveling as a family of four, if our children were young I would not have let them cross the street alone as it was a challenge to cross most of the day. My kids are 15 and 21 and it felt like a game of Frogger getting across the street. Each room is different as these are repurposed homes and not a typical hotel. Our room (31 I think) was a good size with two queen beds. The beds were very comfortable and the room was tidy when we arrived. We stayed five nights and the never cleaned our room (due to Covid). We were able to call and get fresh towels, but really after about three days the room needed to be cleaned (4 people doing water activities and beaches left a lot of sand, etc in the room). Our doorknob wouldn't stay closed or locked when we tried to leave. We called and they immediately sent someone to fix it. Service was friendly and quick whenever we needed it, which is why the three stars. I found the location to be a bit far from everything we wanted to do, especially in the heat of July. It is about 5 or so blocks from Duval street, and we didn't have a car so we chose to walk most places. By the time we got to Duval Street and Mallory Square, we were drenched in sweat. We often chose to Uber as we wanted to have fun and have energy when we arrived places. It may not have felt as far in a "cooler" month, but it was too far to walk most places in July. We did rent a car one day and parking near the hotel was difficult, as it was just street parking. I would recommend having a car or renting a golf cart to get around the island more easily than walking (and we are all in good shape and do not mind walking). Personally, if I were to come back to Key West, I'd choose a resort on the water with a nicer pool (this one is tiny) so that I felt like I was on a nice island vacation as opposed to being on a busy street. To sum it up: pros are the nice, helpful people and comfortable beds. Cons: busy street, long, hot walk anywhere you'd want to visit, difficult parking, rooms vary greatly.

Hi Nancy, I'm happy you enjoyed the team here but it sounds like next time we can get you into one of our properties much closer to Duval and all the happenings around there. Each of our properties appeal to our guests in different way, especially due to their location and historic charm. They (much like most of Key West) we built and remodeled many times over the last 200 years, all for different purposes. Give us a call directly next time and we'll make sure to point you into a direction that will not disappoint.

I will NEVER stay here again. I’ve been here for 5 nights and of those nights I got maybe one good nights sleep. The walls and floors are thin. There are no carpets on the floor to deaden the sounds. I asked to be moved to a different room after being next to someone who kept the TV full blast on all night long for a few nights to another room which was beneath someone who sounds like they are walking high heels and rolling around their suitcases all over the wooden floor. Not to mention Eaton Street is a thoroughfare that if you have a room on facing the street may keep you up all night because of traffic

While the staff was nice and professional they don’t stay all night. Both issues could have been verified and perhaps been stopped by having an overnight staff member verify and contact those causing the issue. It’s was so bad that I had to miss appointments and take quick naps during the day to make up for my lack of sleep the night before.

There is an additional 40 charge per day for the pool I am not sure is cleaned well as it always had bugs, hair and other debris that never to be filtered out from day to day. This fee is also supposed to include an evening alcoholic beverage but it’s just a can of specialty beer. Since pool isn’t that big nor properly cleaned. I don’t like beer I think this charge is exorbitant and unnecessary or should just be included in the room charge.

I’m giving this place a 2 instead of a 1 or 0 because when they are around they are attentive and helpful. They don’t stay all night and leave around 9pm. And because of location.

Don’t stay here if you actually want to rest at night. I strongly recommend they get swim and beach friend rugs that absorb sounds like high heels and suitcase wheels and move the TV’s off the walls or to install them on the outside walls where the sound is less likely to leak into the room next door.

Considering the money I’d paid I would have had a better time at a motel 8 than I did here. I am livid that I am paying to stay awake all night along with a $30 + fee that does not include daily tidying up by staff. I’ve got 8 more hours before I leave and I’m sure I will spend them awake as long as the person above me keeps insisting on walking in heels on the hard floor.

I can’t believe I am spending for over 2K for this. I guess for the location maybe? About 4 blocks from site, activities and food, etc.

Hi there! Thank you so much for taking the time review Fitch Lodge. I am very sad to read that we failed to provide a positive stay for you. We do have other properties that are located further from the busier streets in Key West. We also have am overnight Manager on Duty once our property desks close. They are always available for guest requests, late night arrivals, emergencies, etc. and their number is posted on the front door of the lobby as well as in a welcome text we send at check in. I truly hope that if you come back to Key West, we can find the best property and location for your needs.

I traveled to Key West with on a short stay along with my girlfriend and decided to use at the Kimtpton Fitch Lodge as our base to stay before heading back to South Beach.

Fitch Lodge is a small boutique style hotel with cozy rooms, the hotel was clean, tidy and offers breakfast in a voucher form to use at one of the local bakery, which is 1 to 2 blocks away.

There isn’t much going on around the hotel itself, which is a good thing as it keeps it quiet & relaxing however Duval Street is a short 5 blocks, or roughly 15 minutes, walk where you will find most of the main bars and restaurants.

I would definitely recommend the Fitch Lodge and plan on using it again on our next trip.

I stayed two nights at Fitch Lodge in Key West in July. The location was perfect since it was walking distance to ferry terminal where I took the ferry to the Dry Tortugas. Parking is a little tricky as there is little unreserved parking. The parking garage is only a short walk away. That’s the only downside to this hotel. The property is a boutique style hotel. Everything about it feels relaxing and tropical. The front desk staff were friendly and helpful throughout my stay. They also sent me to my room with two complementary local passion fruit beers which were excellent. The room was quiet and cold. While an older property, the rooms have been renovated and have a modern clean look and feel. The king bed was so comfortable and made for a relaxing night’s rest both nights. The location on Eaton Street was only a few blocks away from Duval Street and many restaurants and local sights. I walked everywhere after arrival due to the great location. I was fortunate to be able to use an IHG free night for one night and paid for only one night. The second night was pricey, but was lower than most similar properties in Key West the same weekend making it a good deal. I was pleasantly surprised to be offered some free breakfast items when I checked out including fruit, juices, and yogurts. This was a great stay and I highly recommend the Kimpton Fitch Lodge when in Key West!

The hotel was 4 blocks away from Duval street and two blocks away from the waterfront. The location on key west couldn’t be more perfect- close enough to walk, far enough away from the noise. We utilized every amenity the hotel had to offer- free bikes, pool, and the continental breakfast! Even if you don’t wake up early enough for the free bike (which we always called around 10 am and they had them available) they will deliver bikes to you for $10 per day! So cheap and easy! The continental breakfast was small but much better than most- good coffee, Chobani yogurt, muffins, and organize juice. Upon your arrival, you’re welcomed with locally brewed Shandy Beer and can grab a water bottle daily at reception. I also LOVED the ability to text the front desk when needed. They were very prompt and friendly.

Sheets were stained with blood, duvet cover was dirty. When I notified the front desk, we were told housekeeping was not allowed in the room because of Covid, but would bring me clean sheets for me to change them. Second set of sheets came and that duvet cover was also dirty and had red stains on it. (The housekeeping person stayed in the room the whole time and it is a TINY room) When we removed the sheets, the mattress cover had yellow stains on it. Housekeeping left and returned with a third duvet cover, mattress cover and a blanket. third duvet cover was also dirty and had red stains on it. Manger, Emily, was extremely un-accommodating with only offering the second nights hotel fee, an additional $100 and an upgrade-providing one was available, on my next stay. Why would we stay there again??? Needless to say, IHG corporate can do absolutely nothing because of the agreement they have with Kimpton Lodge properties.

I stayed here with my two boys in April. It was our first time in Key West and I can't say enough wonderful things about our stay at the Kimpton Fitch lodge. Our check in went well, Mimi explained everything to me and was extremely accommodating. The welcome beverage was a plus. Our room was incredible. It was clean, spacious, and tastefully decorated. I noticed all the small details around the property and it is obvious that they care about the guest experience a lot. We had robes hanging to use which my boys loved. Maps and directions any time we needed, the Duval loop picks up right across the street from the hotel and Colez Peace cafe was my go to for delicious iced coffee before we headed out each day to explore. All of the staff were very friendly and helpful. The pool area is quiet and serene and a nice way to relax after a full day or on a quiet afternoon. Breakfast was great, every day you just go to the lobby they fill a bag with your choices and you can go eat by the pool at the tables there. Plenty of options to choose from, danish, juices, coffee, fruit, cereal, oatmeal, chobani yogurt and more. We never left the hotel feeling hungry to start our day. I would recommend staying here and we will be back. Thank you Kimpton Fitch!

I recommended to my girlfriend that we stay at an IHG property for a recent trip to Key West, FL. I typically stay with these hotel brands on work travel and personal travel as I usually have a pleasant experience. We ended up staying at the Kimpton Fitch Lodge, in room 39, July 8th through July 11th for my birthday on July 9th. The morning of July 9th (my birthday) around 230 am to approximately 4 am there were fire alarms going off every 2 minutes the entire time. All guests staying in the building were woken up repeatedly and I had fire fighters need access to my room with some sort of probe to check the sensors in the room. They did ensure us that there was some sort of malfunction and that no one was in danger. However, because of all the commotion and lack of sleep, I missed an opportunity to visit Dry Tortugas National Park because we didn’t wake up in time for the ferry. This was my first visit to Key West and we purposely picked a nice hotel at a lot of cost for that very reason. The main draw was for the national park. To add insult to injury, the alarms went off around 4 am again on the next day, the 10th. It would be one thing if this was an emergency, but this seems like this is due to improper maintenance of the facilities. We paid over 1000 dollars for that weekend that was practically ruined due to lack of sleep and incessant noise pollution. I reached out to hotel staff and IHG customer service to no avail. I have been a loyal IHG member for years. Marriott here I come.

Hi there! So sorry to hear that you fell victim to that late night alarm. The good news is that our systems work well and correct. They are in place to ensure the safety of our guests, not to make them less comfortable. Unfortunately, we cannot plan when an emergency happens or not, so unfortunately many guests had an unexpected wake up call that I completely apologize for you.

Key West is a really nice place to visit but hotels are expensive. For a bit more money you can do much better than this hotel. On the plus side, the staff is by and large very nice. They were helpful with directions, recommendations, where to park, and information. But the negatives: Tiny rooms, horribly uncomfortable beds, dirty rooms (walking barefoot my feet were nearly black, and the shower had a lot of mildew), small pool across a busy street from our room that seemed to only be cleaned on weekdays (and the fountain pictured was not operational), only one housekeeping visit permitted per stay.

They assess a $40 resort fee per night but the included continental breakfast was short many items two of the four days we stayed, and there was bottled water offered for guests our first two nights, but they didn’t replenish it for the next two nights. We had a lot of road noise as our room faced the street. After the second night we inquired about whether there may be a room we could move to on the back side of the building that might be quieter for the second half of our stay. They told us a manager would follow up, but nobody ever did.

For a luxury boutique brand, this property just falls short.

After reading several reviews I would have to say they are fake which is why I am compelled to write this . We booked using Priceline which it seems every hotel hates and even though you do pay a good amount they give you the worst room . In our case the extremely nice front desk girl took us from a single bed to Queen . Rooms are mostly extremely small they might have 4/6 of the larger but unless you’ve asked and paid your not getting it . So you have the side of the street with pool and rooms across the street. Rooms at the road would be loud,we were to the back . We were bottom floor so we heard the noise above us, noise next door. Garbage pickup at 6:45 AM like it was going to smash thru our room. Barking yappy dog 2 nights in a row and at 5:15 AM 1 morning. Toilet is low to the ground and paper holder behind the door odd set up . Breakfast is danish, bagels, yogurt, cereal, milk and bottled juice. Water was always out. They had rotten bananas for 3 days and tangerines. You definitely must be a walker as it’s not that convenient. We did walk as we found Caroline St just a 4 minute walk . Nice coffee shop past the Ace Hardware across the street. Took the loop for free as we decided the trolly wasn’t worth it . After watching all the hotel vans pass us by as we waited for the free loop bus we decided for the extra money it would have been better. Staff was extremely friendly and I only booked this thinking the location was convenient but not so much. We have traveled extensively in our 60 years and both agree this is at the bottom of accommodations

Hi Brenda, We do not have any parking available at Fitch Lodge. There is a city parking garage 3 blocks away. At our other property, Winslow's Bungalows, we do offer handicap and regular parking at $20 per day.
Answer from Reina Reviews

Hello Brenda, I personally do not recall seeing one. However, I did search on their website's FAQ and this was my finding: "On-site parking only available at Lighthouse Hotel, Ella’s Cottages and Winslow’s Bungalows." I also took an extra step before completing my response and called the property to ask. The front desk agent advised that the handicapped parking they have is across the street from their property. You will also notice that all parking near the property is street parking. Hope this helps.
