Nestled in a spot that marries serenity with city excitement, the Courtyard Key West Waterfront is a hit for its convivial atmosphere, featuring a unique Tiki bar and a selfie station. Guests have called out the clean and snug rooms, although a few have pointed out noise issues and dated decor.
While the sparkling pool and scenic views are popular, the Tiki bar's service and the pool's temperature have received mixed reviews. The staff's warm and professional demeanor often makes for a memorable stay, yet some visitors question the hotel's value, considering the prices.

Detailed Reviews
Over the course of the summer we had two stays, one in June and one at the end of August. I am Hilton Diamond but chose the Courtyard because of price with no resort charges and complementary parking for a hotel built with adequate parking, basically no nickel and diming.
The hotel wasn’t built as a Courtyard and had been renovated to one of the nicest hotels I’ve observed in the midpoint hotels (HGI/Hampton/Courtyard/HIE). Staff is friendly and competent and very straight forward with their behavior expectations (have fun but don’t disturb other guests).
Hotel is in kind of in a mixed area where one needs a car to see the sights but has good shopping and restaurants nearby. There is a Publix and Winn Dixie across the street and a wonderful local Mediterranean grill (Kennedy Cafe) that is open 7 until late night a block away.
Rooms are thoughtfully apportioned with some quirks for being an older retrofitted hotel such as unusual location of ice machines and not all rooms having elevator access.
I will stay here again as long as the price point is comparable to like properties.

Check in was smooth and the staff at the counter was very friendly. We loved the look of the room and balcony, it was clean and spacious. The heated pool and hot tub was great too, despite the drunk guy who was able to get two drinks from the bar then brought them with him to the hot tub and got in the hot tub with me and my mother. Needless to say, we got out of there real quick. I did see people social distancing in the pool which was weird but good, personally I waited till there were only two people in there and it worked out fine. The hotel location was great, everything I wanted to see in Key West was only a 7 minutes or less drive away and very easy to find from the hotel. We got our own breakfasts and ate it out on the balcony which overlooked the pool, it was peaceful and very relaxing which was exactly what I wanted. It was a little noisy at night mainly due to thin walls, and the room door had a gap which meant we could hear the street noise clearly. I would stay again, but definitely bring ear plugs next time or get a room that doesn't face the street. Check out was quick and easy, just drop your keys in the basket and go.

Check in: desk agent was friendly.
Room: partially remodeled, new carpet, new furniture, old light fixtures.
Covid: they say they do a Oxygen treatment between guest, never saw it. Front desk person is behind plexiglass, table in front explaining all they are doing to keep guest safe, the table itself was very dirty and stains on the paperwork on the desk
Bistro: the employee at the bistro was rude to my wife when she ordered something they did not have in stock to make. We used the arrival food and beverage credit for this meal, except they charged my credit card for it. I called when I got my efolio, they claim that was the credit, except it wasn’t. Two more phone calls and now they requested I call back tomorrow. Tonight’s employee suggested I did not give the bistro person the vouchers, it wasn’t until I explained we provided them and she stapled them to the receipt, he agreed someone else would need to handle it, tomorrow.
Location: easy access to Duval street, walk to grocery store.

We couldn't check in until after 6:00pm. Once we checked in there was no water in the shower. Around 8:00 pm the front desk informed me that we could move down the hall. Once we got moved there was no phone or ice bucket & the ceiling fan did not work. Keep in mind the GM had informed me these rooms were brand new but still had old ceiling fans. The first morning we were awaken by the maintenance staff pressure washing the parking lot at 8:00am. When I inquired about a discount the GM said the request would have to go to the owners. Then she said she would do a $50 refund but for the prices they charge it should of been comped. The GM was very short with me. I informed her I have been a Chief Exec Engineer for Hilton and asked why weren't the rooms gone through prior to opening by the Chief Engineer the GM informed me that he was out on Workman's Comp which is more reason why Kimberly should of done it as the GM. She then stated that she had to get the rooms opened for the guest but I guess she didn't have the time to do the walk through for her newly 500k remodeled hotel that she raved about in the beginning. The GM's attitude was more about getting the rooms rented as opposed to getting the rooms right with a final inspection. Also, the night before Christmas the room did not get turned over so we put the request in & I got a letter from the GM that they would be short staffed that day which is why they should have done it the day before. I sure hope Dennis reads this.

Our family and an extra traveled to Marriott Waterfront from January 8th through the 13th. All I can say is, “Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!” This staff is so exceptional, friendly, patient, enthusiastic and helpful! I never felt like I was being judged for my ignorance of the local area. Maya must have answered 10 phone calls from me, prior to our trip, to ask her stupid questions. (It had been a long time since we had traveled more than two or three hours from home) She was always gracious and patient.
When we arrived on Sunday night Christine helped sort out our credit card issues. My fault, as I had forgotten to alert MasterCard that we were traveling. Sorry Christine!
Traveling with older kids (20 – 22 years) we didn’t want to share a room (trust me, sharing a room with adult children –not fun for any of us), but the front desk team assured me that we would have rooms close to each other. Even though the property was completely booked, we did have rooms next to each other!
Each room has a balcony or patio area to sit outside and the landscaping is so mature and well cared for that it really gives privacy and quiet. Even though the property is on Route 1, we never heard it.
The rooms were impeccably clean, and there is nothing like the way Marriott housekeeping makes a room so inviting. Thank you housekeeping!!
The property is so well maintained, the boardwalk area is peaceful, and the pool area is beautiful and quiet, hot tub not crowded. Some music plays near the small bar area, never too loud, but very quiet a little farther away if you want to read, talk, or nap.
The food ordered from the bar was plentiful and delicious. Bartenders Ken and Jeff were quick to help set up little tables so we could snack without making a mess. I sound like a princess, but I never expected any of this. Just the nicest visit, I almost felt guilty being treated so well. Also, there are things I’m sure that I’m forgetting to mention. Great complimentary coffee and tea set up in the morning, and breakfast at the Starbucks in house had the most pleasant staff as well.
If you the reader are asleep, I apologize for the long review, but as you can see when you wake up, I really can’t wait to come back to this property. Nothing negative to say. Not one thing.
Thank you Maya, Kiss, Christine, Karen, housekeeping, and maintenance, for your hard work and smiles. Happy 2023!

Traveling during the ice storm on the east coast put us in Key West a day late and exhausted from flight changes. We get to the hotel 4 hrs before check in and are greeted at the front desk welcomed, our Marriott status recognized and as expected the room wasn’t ready. No problem we go to the pool area order lunch and within 15 minutes we are contacted and told we had been upgraded and a room was ready. We were checked in and the staff could not have been any more friendly or helpful. Oh yes the airline had also lost our luggage. So we informed the front desk and they told us not to worry they would let us know when it arrived. We ate checked in and slept had just woke up when the front desk phoned and told us our bags had arrived. Cannot say enough about the great staff at the hotel during our whole week stay.
The property is deceiving from the entrance but is beautiful with lush plants and trees around the pool area and a boardwalk along the water with plenty of sitting areas and comfortable nooks just to sit outside and chill. Property is well maintained
The pool area was clean and plenty of space. The tiki bar was another great surprise. The bartender could make anything custom or the full menu of drinks. The lunch options were standard Marriott good quality, large servings and value priced. Starbucks in the lobby for a fast breakfast and complete breakfasts for those wanting more.
The only downside for some folks is the location is right off the main road and traffic noise can be at times heard very easily in the room. We travel with a white noise machine so not really a big deal for us but if you are a light sleeper try to get put as far back as possible. You can also hear it poolside but after a few drinks not so noticeable.
I have stayed at four different Marriott properties in Key West and this was the best find. Great value for money, we will be back. Thanks everyone for making our stay so enjoyable.

We stayed at the Courtyard Marriott in Key West on May 24-28, 2021. The location was convenient to Duval Street (approx 8-10 mins drive) and walking distance to nearby Publix, Outback, Stone Crab, TJ Maxx, Ross for Less, CVS, UPS, Home Depot, Office Max, Domino's Pizza, Dunkin Donuts. The accommodations were comfortable, environment was clean, staff was superb, pool was nice and fairly empty every day and had a bar with daily happy hour. We chose this location because they do not charge daily resort or parking fees. The next door neighbor hotel is Parrot Key. Definitely would recommend.

Do not book this hotel! We are staying here on points. We had the choice to stay here or The Saint but opted for this location since it has a little (dirty) beach and for the free shuttle, figuring it would be a bit more suitable for our family. There is no shuttle as advertised. I called ahead to confirm this was still operating but apparently it was a miscommunication and is not operating. Our room is a very standard room which faces the pool (errr more like a pool filter system and fence). If booking it will say shower/tub combo. This is also misleading as rooms don’t have a tub so if you have kids to bathe you’re out of luck. There is limited space for clothing storage (3 tiny drawers) and 9 hangers. Otherwise there is absolutely no where to put your stuff. There is no luggage rack. Our bedside light is busted and one of the bed covers has some kind of makeup on it. Overall, a huge disappointment of a property and we have only been here a few hours. They did allow us to check in early but that’s the only positive thus far. This property would be fine perhaps only if you were coming in late, needed to sleep, and planned to leave the next morning. The manager offered to help us book another property. What a joke. It is a Saturday in February (peak!) travel. There is nothing available at any kind of reasonable rate and all other Marriott properties are sold out (except for a Fairfield).

Originally had reservations at the Fairfield Inn but had miscommunication in that they do not allow boats parked in their parking lot. Needing a place that allowed boats on premises, they allowed me to cancel my reservation w/o any fees or charges and helped me find a new room at the Courtyard.
Annette at the Courtyard was amazing. After spending 6+ hours out on the water - and dealing with not being able to check into our original reservations- she was so patient and kind. And took the time to help us understand the rules and regulations of the hotel during COVID. I must have called her 4 more times from our room with additional questions.
The hotel room was very clean, comfortable, ice cold air, and had a super cute patio (we were on ground floor).
Looking forward to staying there again. They also had a nice boardwalk along the water in which we saw a few horseshoe crabs!

My wife and I had a great stay! The hotel is clean and going above & beyond with COVID protocols. The hotel is only about 2 miles away from Duval St, which is about a $13 Lyft ride(plenty of those around). There is a Tiki bar at the pool, which made for great relaxing when needed. There is also a small beach area(Gulf side not Atlantic side) right there that allows you to enjoy the sun and salt water if you wish. There is also a waterfront walk with tables and chairs that you can enjoy as well, right there on the property.
There is a concierge service on site, so before you book any excursions, please call ahead of your stay to speak them. Tom is a local and a great help. I wish we had known this before we booked any excursions.

The hotel is on a main thoroughfare so mostly chain stuff you would find in any city. Dunkin, Popeyes, Wendy’s , Outback. It is directly across from a shopping plaza with a Publix supermarket. Most of the “local” places are in downtown Key West or will require a decent bike ride or motorized transportation. Seems to me everything is within a 3 mile walk if you wanted
For me it was $100.
I believe there is a public about a 1/2 mile away.
No resort fee and enough space for free parking. The Manager and the staff is very friendly they even helped me to make my wife's 65th birthday spectacular. The garden has many beautiful trees and a small beach.
Though does not have an elevator so if you do not want to carry your bags up the steps choose downstairs, however i did not mind taking a flight of steps with bags.
