Reviews summary
This summary was created by AI, based on recent reviews.

The Hampton Inn Key West has received mixed feedback from guests. While the staff's friendliness and the hotel's shuttle service are often commended, concerns about value are prevalent, with numerous mentions of excessive fees and overpriced amenities. The rooms stand out for their spaciousness and cleanliness, offering ocean views that many find enjoyable, though decor and external cleanliness have been points of contention. The atmosphere blends charm with modern touches, but not all guests are impressed by the decor.
The hotel's amenities, including a pool area, are appreciated, yet some guests have reported a lack of towels and pool furniture. The location is praised for its convenience to local attractions, yet airplane noise has been noted as a nuisance. Overall, cleanliness is a strong point, particularly in the rooms and bathrooms, but some guests have called for better towel service and improved tidiness in the breakfast area.

Hotel's Favourite
My daughter and I took a long weekend vacation to Key West and stayed at the Hampton Inn. We really enjoyed our stay there for the following reasons.
Since we were able to drive down, we booked a snorkeling sunset cruise via the concierge ahead of time which gave us something special to do when we arrived. The onsite concierge was very helpful with information, activities, maps, and directions.
Our room was comfortable and well-maintained by the cleaning staff. Food-wise, the complimentary breakfasts offered a wide variety of tasty foods. Lunches and dinners could be obtained from the Cheekie Hut in case you didn't want to go back into town. The menu offered a number of tasty appetizers, entrees, and desserts (delicious Key Lime pie!). A drink card was issued at check-in for 2 free drinks a day. There was a wide variety of beverages available.
The pool was enormous and allowed enough room for peace and quiet, even though there were a number of children present.
The biggest perk was THE COMPLIMENTARY SHUTTLE!! The August heat made it virtually impossible to stay in town all day. The shuttle started at 8AM and finished at 10PM. It ran frequently enough to be really useful getting back and forth from downtown to the hotel.

Stayed at the Hampton by Hilton hotel in Key West staff are fantastic nice little breakfast in the morning cool little tiki bar by the pool excellent bedrooms all brand new bathroom bedding everything was fantastic we never used the shuttle as it always came back too early 10 PM is the last one leaving downtown Key West. We had a rental car so it was easy to get around to the gorgeous open down town, different beaches & great things to see around the area. Fort Zachary Taylor beach was fantastic had a bar and hot food service, sandwiches, french fries, smoothies and the likes on the beach rent lawn chairs umbrellas two chairs and an umbrella $30 well worth it Higgs beach was another beautiful beach with a bar right beside a restaurant umbrella lounge chairs there two chairs and aN umbrella for $20 the only bad thing about Fort Taylor beach was a lot of Coral very hard to walk to the water so you need some type of water shoes otherwise beautiful area. The beaches are about an eight minute drive from the hotel. We were also visited daily by a lone seagull whom they named Blondie.

Nice place to stay. Nice heated pool and hotel was clean. located directly across the street from the Atlantic Ocean. Across tge street is a sidewalk along the ocean that leads to Smathers Beach. Located less than a mile from airport. That being said, it does get loud but we didn’t mind. Like that it’s not on Duval St where all the partying is. We rented bikes and went all over the island which is only 2miles x 4 miles. Only drawback as is With all other hotels at this time with COVID19, they do not clean your room but every 4th day. You have to request clean towels, toiletries etc and for them to pick up your trash in the room. Just our opinion, but with the loss of housekeeping you would think the rates would drop. All in all we had a great stay.

My son and I completed our first night here and I had to rave about things already. I’ve stayed at many Hampton Inn’s so I had prepared myself for a good stay at a good rate.
However, from the moment we checked in, this place has surpassed good all around in amenities and service yet the rate is so reasonable.
The checkin gal couldn’t have been sweeter. She was so personal and inviting.
Our room is immaculate and very comfortable. I highly recommend the king room suites to get the balcony and the separate sitting room. Feels like something I have experienced at higher end Hilton hotels.
The pool....unbelievable! Resort style pool that is so clean and big enough to spread out. The Cheekie Hut is open for ordering and taking cocktails and food to your beach chair. The girl working in here knew my drink the second time already and I had only been there an hour and she had served multiple other guests!
Breakfast this morning was a total treat. There was a very nice host who was making toast if you wanted and passing out to go boxes of potatoes and sausage. This was in addition to cereals, yogurts, muffins, fruit, etc. !! Such a nice treat during this pandemic where other hotels aren’t doing any kind of food and drink either at the pool or for breakfast!
All this being said, I am very impressed with the cleanliness, the visual management of safety with masks, hand sanitizer and the overall seriousness on behalf of the staff.
Would stay here again for sure!! Thankyou Hampton staff!!!

We approached this hotel with concern considering a recent review in which the reviewer considered the proper a motel that was loud and inconvenient. Although his description of proximity to airport is accurate and the property is clearly renovated, we have been pleasantly surprised with our stay. The price beat several VRBOs once you added fees and includes breakfast. The airplane traffic is minimal and not at all at night. We also found that while on a bike tour of Old Town, the tour guide had to pause for a landing plane and that location was nowhere near the Hampton. My husband and I felt the reviewer failed to consider that few properties in the Old Town district would have access to a room this size that is newly remodeled. From what we have seen, to get a pool and breakfast (typical Hampton Inn fare) included, this would not be available near Old Town or would only be met by a much high priced resort. The hotel staff has consistently checked in with us via text, and although housekeeping services are limited to daily trash and towel replacement, that was done in a timely manner each morning. On-site concierge was also friendly and convenient.

Just returned home from a 4-night stay at the Hampton Inn Key West and had a great experience. The property was very clean and rooms had been nicely updated. The large resort pool was very nice, with plenty of room to spread out and seek the sun or shade. The resort fee that you are charged allows them to operate the shuttle to the Duvall area all day, as well as 2 free drinks at the Cheekie Hut. We ordered lunch at the Cheekie Hut everyday we were there, good solid bar food, ranging from $10-15. Side note, don't leave your food unattended poolside or part of it may be carried away by a stealthy seagull. The Hampton did a nice job with offering guests a hot breakfast option everyday, along with other continental items. After spending 3 nights in the Duvall area before moving to the Hampton Inn Key West, we welcomed the quieter location, away from the chaos of downtown. However, be aware that you are only about 1/4 mile from the Key West airport, so you will have loud noise from airplanes that take off. The takeoff times are clustered, so it is a couple of takeoffs at a time - seemed to be every hour and a half or so. The noise didn't bother us though. If I traveled to the Keys again, I would have no reservations booking this property again.

The property is great with a nice view of the ocean. A large pool with ample space to spread out. The pool side bar is convenient and offers very good food choices (bar type food) at reasonable prices. The hotel and rooms are very clean and quiet, other than the airplane traffic from the airport, but it stops in the early evening.
We were able to walk from the airport to the hotel. We took the hotel shuttle back and forth to the center of town where all the restaurants/bar are located. All the drivers were courteous and accommodating (especially Joe). We didn't miss not having a car. We also rented bicycles from the hotel.
I would definitely recommend this Hampton. The staff was excellent and made our stay relaxing and safe, especially with the stress of traveling during a pandemic

My lady and I stayed as noted in the title, overall the facility was acceptable. Note, I am a Quality professional and former member of the American Society of Quality. We have been here when it was the Best Western, so when Hampton Inn took over and remodeled, major points. We come here for one major feature, the pool, it is the best in KW. But we noticed that the pool was not cleaned as often as when the BW had it. The foliage debris needs to be removed more often. While talking to a couple other guests, they also noted the minor concern. I mentioned in the HI review that the pool in my opinion is a diamond that needs major attention. On a note that HI has minor control over was a group of people (note, of all concerns) were using the pool and area, only problem was they left their mess and used towels around the pool area when they left. BW use to have a person clean the area for all guests, we did not see this, but to be fair, people need to respect the property and other guests, (I really hope you are reading this if you were in that group). Another issue I will assume connected to the group, again only assuming it was this group, while going for a 7am morning walk, there was empty alcohol containers and a snuff container on the second level at the stairs, an empty beer can on the stairs. I reported this concern to the desk attendant, she immediately cornered the debris and placed a warning cone there until housekeeping cleaned it up. I did not want to slip on the stairs while on vacation. A perk of the location of this resort is the walk along the Atlantic ocean, you must do it! I have read concerns about the air traffic noise, get over it, you are next to an airport. I personally enjoy watching the planes come and go, noise and all. Another concern I personally did not think was important was the bathroom had no hooks or towel bars. My lady noticed this right away, I blew it off until I needed to hang my towel, toilet or floor? She is right, where do you hang your robe? Towel? I took the end table from the living area and put it in the dead corner across from the toilet, next to the shower door, this worked. Yes, I put the end table back. Speaking of the shower door, there was a water leak by the front of the toilet, you would not really care, but when I used the toilet, my shorts became wet on the edges, how many adjectives do you think I used? On a positive note, the complimentary breakfast was decent, turkey sausage patties were dry, but overall, during these so called times, HI did a more than acceptable job, kudos to the cleaning, I personally did not see an issue. Use the shuttle, it will save you the cost of parking, worked for us. The concierge booked our sunset cruise, perfect. Overall, this facility was worth the cost, just little details in my quality opinion.

Staff was extremely friendly and helpful. If you are going to stay here, pay the extra money for a ocean view room, you will not regret it. Even first floor rooms have a wonderful view of the ocean. Great spot if you want to be away from the hustle and bustle of Duval St.

If you are looking for a hotel away from the craziness of downtown Duvall this is your spot! This resort is on the opposite side of the island so it does not provide sunset views, and you will have to drive down to Duvall if you want to go shopping or have dinner. However the hotel does offer a free shuttle that departs from the hotel every 45 minutes and drops you off right by Mallory Square.
What’s nice is this hotel has a boutique style feel, only two floors and I believe only four buildings total so getting around this resort is super easy! The rooms are super spacious and definitely recently renovated. I really loved the decor in the room it felt very tropical and modern. Our room had a fantastic view but honestly I think all of the rooms at this resort overlook either the pool or ocean so you really can’t go wrong! We were celebrating my husband‘s birthday and our anniversary and they were so kind to leave a card and two bottles of champagne in our room !!! Our room was ready upon arrival and we got there early and they even gave us a late check out at 1 PM on our departure date. The staff was so amazing very nice and accommodating to all of our requests.
The pool area is super spacious and there were lots of chairs available so I didn’t have to worry about waking up extra early to secure a spot by the pool. I also loved the tiki bar they had great food at affordable prices and the best part is this hotel gives you two free alcoholic beverages each day of your stay! This resort also provides free breakfast which consisted of waffles, omelettes, and we noticed the meat and potatoes change daily. They also offer a selection of cereal fresh fruit yogurt and some other grab and go options like prepackaged muffins and some other pastries. They also offer free coffee water bottles and juice all day long.
Overall I would highly recommend this resort to anyone that is traveling to Key West and is looking to stay in a really nice but also budget friendly resort. Nothing at this resort will break the bank and even though we went on a holiday weekend and the rates were a little higher they were still lower than most other properties in Key West that are not nearly as nice. Do not let the name Hampton Inn fool you I have really high expectations for resorts and this one checked all of my boxes! Oh and did I mention there is free parking?! They do charge a $30 per day resort fee but I was happy to pay that considering all that I received for that cost!!!
Very happy and cannot wait to go back I will always stay at this resort when traveling to Key West! One thing to note it did not seem very kid friendly but do any resorts in Key West really feel kid friendly? I enjoyed this resort because it had a more laid-back adult vibe but if you have small kids they might be bored by the pool. If you are an adult I promise you will love it!!!

A limited supply is available but I don't think they have hard liquor.
Yes, depending on availability.
There no beach. Just a seawall on the other side of the highway.
They have a roster to sign up on. It will show the time slots with the seats available. I believe it was every 30 minutes. If your desired time slot is full they recommend you show up anyway as it is common for no-shows.
Taxis have flat rates that are reasonable and Uber/Lyft is always available. I never waited long for any transportation.
