Spent a night getaway with the wife. First time staying in Jensen Beach. Hotel was very nice. Great location with restaurants right across the street. Unfortunately it was too cold to enjoy the outside amenities. Our only complaint would be house keeping needs to do a little more thorough job cleaning. We found someone toenail clippings on the floor and a used Kleenex under the bed. Would definitely go back through.

We are staying at this hotel on vacation for a week. It says it’s open but not really. We have no house keeping. Was told at check in we would have service Wednesday and Saturday. Wednesday came, no housekeeping. Had to ask for towels, and the garbage was over flowing. We asked for garbage bags but the head of housekeeping came and took the garbage and gave us new towels. She stated they are not allowed in the rooms. Well then they should not say they are open. Free WiFi! Ha! If it works. Mine worked at times my husbands never worked. We paid top price for an oceanfront room with balcony. Received an email to ask about an upgrade was told sure for 100.00$ a night! Since we are doing our own housekeeping we should get a discount. Upgrade free maybe. Chairs were 30.00 a day. No one is purchasing them and since they are not open completely maybe the chairs should be a free amenity for now. We stay at Marriotts all over and this one is over rated. Just because we are in Florida at the beach .

Bridget M, I am very sorry for your disappointing stay with us. I wish I had an opportunity to speak with you while you were still a guest so I could have addressed and fixed your issues versus hearing about them after you left via a review site. Housekeeping services can be a challenge as we work diligently to keep both our staff and our guests safe in the intimate environment of a hotel guest room, and we continue to work hard to meet the needs of our guests while maintaining the safety protocols we have in place, including not offering daily cleaning service. I am confused about the $100 upgrade fee you reference. Looking at your reservation, the room and rate you received were the same as what was originally booked with no additional fees. We do have penthouse suites that we may have offered for an additional $100, as they are more like oceanfront apartments vs. our guest rooms and there are only 4 of them. In researching what may have happened with your room service and wi-fi, I discovered your last name was mis-spelled on the reservation, and as our wifi service uses your name and room number as the 'password' to access the service it would have been impossible to connect through the guest wifi server. We do have a beach service which charges $30 per day for 2 beach lounge chairs and an umbrella for guests who would like to use the service vs. charging a resort fee to every guest in order to provide that service for "free". Bridget, I truly am sorry that you were not able to enjoy your time with us and enjoy a peaceful escape here to Hutchinson Island. This is a fantastic destination, and typically provides the perfect respite for relaxation. I hope that you will give us another try in the future if your travels bring you back to the area.

My wife and I wanted to venture out after 80 days in lock down. We are in the hotel and cruise industry and heard all the precautions Marriott was undertaking to make people feel safe in this age of Coronavirus. The property did have hand sanitizing machines at the entrances. None of the staff wore masks or gloves at the front desk or restaurant. There was zero social distancing at the pool. Lounge chairs and tables were next to each other.
As a hotel the staff was very friendly. The breakfast was very good with large portions, butI wanted the staff to wear masks and gloves. When confronted, the staff said they had them but were not wearing them.
I was also surprised that the bed did not have mattress and pillow protection.
Our room was spacious, on the beach and had a balcony. We want to go back, but not until they implement better precautions.

1948Steven, I am so sorry that you did not feel comfortable at the hotel during your stay with us. We do provide gloves and masks to all our associates and ask that they wear them. The front desk is totally covered in Plexiglass providing a barrier between our associates and our guests, but we do also ask them to also wear masks. We require all Food and Beverage staff to wear masks, and I appreciate you pointing out that protocol is not always being followed. Housekeeping and back of the house staff are also required to wear gloves, changing them between cleaning and refreshing the rooms and between each room, as well as wearing masks at all times in guest areas. We do not require front of house associates to wear gloves, but do require constant hand washing and sanitzing, as gloves can often lead to cross-contamination when not changed constantly, and hand washing and sanitzing are more consistently safe in that regard. We have removed many tables - at least 25% of chairs and seating areas from our public areas including the pool deck. We do not constantly police these areas, relying on people to take some personal responsibility and avoid areas where other guests have moved the seating closer together to suit their needs, which may make others uncomfortable. We work, and have been working very hard since early March to be sure protocols are in place regarding cleanliness and sanitation, prioritizing the health and safety of our staff and guests. These are uncertain times, with recommendations of best practices and standards changing almost daily. We are doing everything that we can to make sure procedures are implemented and updated as they change. It is understandable that many are not yet ready to venture out of their lock downs, and that it is difficult to rely on relative strangers to protect their well-being and health, especially in the intimate setting of a hotel and guest room. We very much understand this and strive to make our hotel a protective bubble around those who are venturing out and seeking a respite in the uncertainty. Thank you for coming out, and we do hope to see you again when you feel more comfortable.

The hotel is right on the beach and you have a super maket less than 5 miles and groceries store in the other side of the street. I'm a Platinum Elite and was recognized for my status. I have 3 rooms booked with point sand all of them were upgraded to water view. There is not breakfast provided BUT there is one little Starbucks with really good prices and the guy working there is amazing. food you can find in the pool and the lady is amazing too. The service is a 5 start hotel. The food is nothing fancy but really good if you want to spend the time at the beach., People in the lobby are really helpful too. The room has a BIG refrigerator if you want to keep food and drinks. There is no chairs and umbrellas for free but you can rent them or take it with you is cheaper if you want to save. I really love the hotel and their people and I travel a lot around the world

We stayed at The Lucy resort for the weekend of August 4 and 5th. We selected three rooms for our family reunion. Two of these had the oceanview but no balcony and one had a wraparound balcony with the bunk beds. That one had a great view towards the inland waterway. Opal is one of those companies that lowballs prices with resort fees. This one is a modest $35 per stay. It gets you beach towels but no umbrellas or deck chairs.

We had no difficulty with our arrivals and room assignments were promptly taken care of. The air conditioner in one of the rooms was not working but this was promptly repaired. The views from all the rooms were wonderful. The rooms were clean and well kept. As others have noted, Opal took over this property a few months ago and it does have some need of refreshing. The sound insulation in between the rooms is on the thin side. A family in the room next to us was having a casual conversation late at night and we could hear pretty much every word. If you have an iphone, it has a white noise feature which we discovered! It was helpful.

The staff was very helpful and always available as needed. The bistro, open for breakfast, served some surprisingly good breakfast Burritos. The gentleman who attended the beach, Mark, was friendly and helpful. He offers 2 deck chairs and an umbrella for $35 a day. I found this to be very reasonable. He also rents paddle boards and kayaks.

The beach at The Lucy was exceptional. It is further up the island than other properties and it was less crowded. In many beaches in Florida you need to wear beach shoes when you go swimming due to the rocky ocean floor. The ocean bottom here was extremely smooth and it was no problem to go barefoot.

Summarily, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Lucy and will definitely return again. It is definitely a step below other Opel properties like the Hutchinson Shores or their Jupiter and Delray properties but it is also much less expensive. If you're looking to spend a few days at the beach at a moderate price in a well kept but somewhat dated hotel this is a great choice.

Very nice hotel, but for the price I definitely expected complimentary breakfast/coffee in the morning. Over a 4 week road trip, we have experienced many different interpretations of what a hotel chain can and can't (or won't) do with regards to breakfast servings in a time of Covid. But in over 14 hotels during this trip, we never had a hotel not offer free coffee - not the room coffee but fresh brewed in the lobby. When I saw the Starbucks franchise taking up what would be the complimentary breakfast area in the hotel, now I know why. $8 for 2 large coffees just to get us on our way in the morning is an extra expense we shouldn't have to worry about at this room price.
The hand held shower head was broken and wasn't attached to anything and squirted like a loose fire hose all over the bathroom the first time we turned on the shower.
The rooms were beautiful other than the broken shower head, the pool and hot tub were great, and the beach access was easy and fun to just take a walk. The staff was nice. Overall, a great property, but no coffee? Come on!

What we liked:

Excellent location right on the beach

Great for families with kids

Reasonable prices at the pool bar and grill.

Starbucks on-site

Nice pool setup

Front desk staff was helpful and seemed generally interested in making our stay pleasant.

Bathrooms were updated

Worth noting:

Second elevator was not working for two days

Needs Improvement:

Housekeeping was subpar. There were large crumbs under the bed. I saw housekeeping on our second day and asked her to vacuum the room, empty the trash and to provide new towels. Even with a nice cash tip, pretzel and other crumbs from previous guests remained under the bed and the bare minimum was done.

The next day we asked the front desk for a full service at 3pm, we were told it was too late in the day, but the room would be serviced the next day- Someone dropped the ball and the room was not serviced.

Overall We loved our stay and I would go back in a heartbeat.

Other than the room being clean and quiet upon arrival, the bed was not comfortable but tolerable, no cleaning or towel service (due to covid) unless you took the time to ask for it. The Bistro in the lobby could not serve any customers due to the cash register not working for 2 days. My main complaint is in regards to Sunday. Our day was ruined by people partying at the pool who were not hotel guests. We saw 2 loud families w/ several kids (who were torpedoing in and out of the pool all day) arrive from the beach w/ a duffle-bag style cooler full of beer, over heard their conversations so know they were locals. We reported this 3 times to management and it was pretty much downplayed and not given any attention to hours later and by that time the people left. So beware if you are looking for a relaxing time at the pool on the weekend. In addition to the number of unsupervised small children diving in and out of the pool was just astounding. I doubt we will be back.

We decided to stay at this location for one night because it had the ocean view and it was on our way to Orlando.
The experience was great from the beginning when Lisa the general manager who happened to be at the front desk greeted us with a smile and welcomed us to the property.
The room had everything that we needed and and excellent ocean view. We enjoyed the beach a lot since it was not crowded and our baby could play on the sand safely.
April was the person working at the pool bar. I must say she was fantastic, I was little hesitant to order food but April was so friendly we decided to order. The food was good and April's service was even better, checking on us constantly and calling me always by name.
I know all the hotels are having a very hard time with Covid, especially on the staffing and housekeeping but it is those few interactions and willingness to serve what makes a difference.

I spent two nights here with our family of 4. We were in room 704 with two Queen beds. The room was recently renovated and nice and clean. Beds were comfortable. Shower was good (FYI no tub if you have small kids). Nice balcony with gorgeous view. Good pool and excellent hot tub that was quite hot and had a great waterfall. Ample free parking.

We have previously stayed at the Island Beach Resort, but it was booked up the nights we wanted. We missed having a suite with a kitchen that we've had in that property, but the hot tub is a nice advantage this place has.

Located right on the beach. I got in the ocean on the first day and watched a Portuguese Man O' War float by me. I got out and never got back in. I saw several of them washed up on the shore as well. Not going to risk that.

This property has a resort fee, which is a bit absurd. What's it for? Free WiFi and two water bottles? Access to the pool? Just charge more per night and get rid of the hidden junk fee.

The "tiki" bar by the pool has no actual tiki theming in its design. Who really cares, but I found it to be dumb to call a standard poolside bar a tiki bar without putting forth any effort to make it look like a tiki bar. The place is still being renovated so maybe that's to come.

The bar tender at the tiki bar looked at my wife like she was crazy when she asked if we could have some plastic plates for the delivery pizza we had ordered. Feels like the resort fee could have handled some complimentary plastic plates? She gave my wife 2 of them and acted like it was all she had, though a half hour later there was a wedding party out by the pool with a stack of 100 of their plates. A minor detail but it rubbed us the wrong way.
