Detailed Reviews
First off, cleanliness is a must! When I walked in, it smelled of cleaning supplies which was a good thing. Sean was very friendly when checking us in. The hotel is literally a crosswalk away from the beach. The pool is tiny so we didn't use it. Breakfast was okay. They had someone serving hot items, pastries, and cereal so everyone didn't touch everything. The waffle machine stayed crowded, but my kids did have waffles every day. Our room was on the third floor and you could see the ocean from it. The cleaning ladies did a wonderful job and were friendly. The only thing I would say was a negative is the walls need to be painted and the showers updated. We also have 3 kids and we could not get a roll away bed because of a fire code. We travel quite a bit and have never been told that before!
My kids had to cram on a queen bed. For the price and location, it's a good deal.

We came down for a weekend and invited a couple of friends to also book a room. When we arrived Dani promptly checked us in with an adjoining room to our friends that had checked in the day before. Our door lock didn't work so she had Emily repair it. It was replaced in no time and working again when we came back from the beach. Sean always greeted us every time we came in and left. What a friendly staff! We were very pleased with the cleanliness and amenities of the room and the hotel is convenient to the beach (directly across the street) and restaurants are very close by. Before I left I told Jeanne how wonderful our stay was and she was friendly as well. I like to recognize good service when we get it because I believe it's important for people to know when they're doing a great job. We will definitely recommend this hotel again and definitely stay here again.

The staff was friendly. The hotel was clean. The free breakfast was pretty good. The hotel is across the street from the beach it’s a good location. However the beach access allows trucks and cars to go on the beach. So when you go to the beach you have to walk all the way past them lugging your stuff. The cable only had a couple channels not great. The hotel room I stayed in was damp it drove me nuts the whole time I was there. There’s no chair in the room other than a small office chair. So if you want to watch TV for a couple hours you have to sit on your bed. They also could use a ceiling fan in there. If I went back I would stay somewhere else but this is a decent place if you don’t mind the things I mentioned.

Worst customer service I have ever received. We left my husbands shirt there and they would not check to see if it was still in the room. Also when we got there , there was no toilet paper in our room at all. So if they aren’t checking for shirts in the closets or refilling they toilet paper then, they aren’t checking the rooms after visits at all. They sheets were probably never changed either.

My family and I have been to the Amelia Hotel at the Beach every summer for the past three years and it is always a great time. There are not too many frills with this hotel but they have clean rooms, free breakfast every morning, and it's right across from the beach. We went this past weekend; we were concerned going into it with the current pandemic but I felt very safe while there. It was very apparent that they were sticking closely with cdc guidelines of wearing masks and social distancing and it seemed like they were constantly cleaning common areas. I couldn't have asked for more, it was a great getaway during this crazy time and we will be back next summer!

We had a King Balcony room. For the price I would not recommend this hotel.
The positives first:
Fridge, microwave and good counter space and extra small sink in that area. Really helpful.
Good counter space in the bathroom.
Staff were all very friendly and helpful.
Parking was always available.
Right across the street from the public beach (good and bad).
Close to restaurants.
Hand sanitizer was plentiful.
The man serving breakfast was friendly ALL the time, masked and always helpful.
Negatives:
Ice machine was barely working most of the time and NOT working some of the time.
Pool was out of order one day.
Carpet was dirty and stained.
Constant water in the elevator creating a slip hazard.
Sheets were very cheap quality
There was a hole in the wall that had been repaired with compound, but not had any sealer or paint put over it and it was moldy.
Everything, EVERYTHING, is rusty and corroded.
Price. We have paid much less for much nicer and larger accommodations. Very
overpriced for what you get.
MISC:
This is directly across from Seaside Park. Which is a park that the public can drive onto making that beach very busy with cars. They do have to stay within certain areas, but on a Saturday there were three rows of cars. My preference is a more private beach without access to cars. There is a nice outdoor shower and foot wash on the boardwalk on the way back to the hotel.
I know the salt water and salt air make it hard to keep things from rusting, but other places figure it out. This place needs A LOT of upkeep and repair.
Very busy and loud location, but some people like the access that comes with that.
Overall, I was disappointed in the hotel, especially for what we paid. If it had been economical I'd say "You get what you pay for", but at over $300 per night I expected something nicer.

This hotel is in a great location but that's where it ends. We paid over $750 for 2 nights over July 4th weekend. The hotel is old and not worthy of charging $375+/night (includes taxes). We were placed by the elevator, back entrance, ice machine, and house keeping room. You couldn't open the curtains to let light in because everyone in the pool could see into your room. We were kept awake by late nighters going in and out of the hotel. Then woke before 6:00 am by washers and dryers and people talking in the hall, I assume from the house keeping room. We could hear every conversation had in the hall, even flip flops flopping up and down the hall. The last night people were in the pool until mid-night...right outside our window. If I paid low budget prices I would expect this, but not for the price we paid.
The management might also want to note the professionalism of the front desk. Upon check in there was a guest apparently having an problem and it was openly discussed with irritation and the guest was told via phone there was nothing they could do about the problem until the manager returned. No idea what was going on but I'm glad I wasn't that guest.

The location of the hotel is fantastic! It’s a short walk across the street to the beach. It’s just a 10 min drive to the historic district.
The hotel itself was just ok. The room was dated and the bathroom was not cleaned well upon arrival (used washcloth and lots of little hairs were found). Plus when house keeping did come to clean the room not much was done other than emptying 1 of the 2 trash cans... The breakfast in the morning was consistently delicious and clean. The hotel was also quiet, despite being busy based on the parking lot.

This hotel was a pleasant surprise! The rooms were clean and updated. Mattresses were comfortable, carpet new/clean, furniture and decor were obviously updated. The staff was all extremely friendly. The beach access was right across the street. FYI that access point was where cars can park on the beach so you have to walk a bit down to avoid them (go to left side for less crowds). The water here was gorgeous- calm & warm for the Atlantic with dramatic high/low tides. Only complaint was beach is full of shells, often times gravelly. Hotel is also an easy 10 minutes from downtown area with lots of restaurants & shops. We ate at the Salty Pelican & Peppers downtown which were both excellent and fresh. Would also recommend Tortuga Jacks across the street from the hotel for Baja Mexican style food.

The building has 2 sides. We were on the back side. I am not sure whether even or odd rooms are on oceanside. Call them, they were helpful.
No cost for public beach. There are several access places along Fletcher Ave....some have parking and many don’t. One place to take car on beach but has to be a 4x4. Beach parking down by Fort Clinch...then short walk to beach.
"It is quiet at night which is nice. But the beds creaked and were not very comfortable. Beach is directly across the street."Read full review
