Hotel's Favourite
Stayed here on 3 occasions, and each room was nicely appointed, clean and well priced. The Cuban restaurant is fantastic, and the service throughout the hotel exceptional. Located in the heart of downtown Deland’s shopping and dining district, this is the place to stay to enjoy all that Deland and surrounding areas have to offer. Bike riding down Woodland Boulevard and through the Stetson campus and charming surrounding neighborhoods is nice and close to blue springs state park for kayaking, canoeing paddle boarding, and fishing.

Very efficient front desk. Easy parking. Close to everything in Deland. Bar closes early (10 pm). Throwback keys — no electronic swipe you actually use a key! If we’re back in Deland, we will stay here!

Staff was all very friendly and professional! The rooms are so charming, clean and it didn’t feel like you were in a typical hotel. Loved it! I even left really important items in the room and they immediately helped ship everything back to me with no hesitation. Great customer services

Due to my profession, I'm on the road, in lodging quite a bit. Particularly this state. I don't except the moon and the stars laid out on a red carpet in a hotel I paid less than $100 for. I'm a reasonable woman:) Though man, I don't think people in the service industry realize how little that dollar amount should matter when it comes to what level of quality customer service they put out.
When I checked in they put me in the wrong room type. The woman at the front desk fixed this issue, but only after telling me that Booking.com had their room types on photos mixed up. I had paid for an Executive Suite, and according to her, that's what she put me in, that the room photos on booking were actually of a downgraded room. I said they need to inform Booking.com them because that's not ok.
I get settled in the room she put me in, but let me say, this "executive suite (according to Booking.com) is not as big as they advertise. Once again though, at this point I have no idea what this executive suite truly looks like.
It was cold here, and of course the heater fight work in the room. I was freezing for hours. When she came to try and fix it, she could not. She then stated that she could...give me an extra blanket. No way. I'm not staying in this freezing room, that is smaller than advertised. So I tell her I can not stay in a freezing room all night, she wasn't exactly excelling in her politeness at this point, but she obliged.
She put me back on the third floor, in a heated room, thank goodness.
The next morning, I'm getting ready, getting my stuff together, and I hear the maintenance man and the cleaning woman speaking. They preceded to stand outside my room for like an hour, and at one point loudly say, is she gone yet? It wasn't even check out time!! Once again, BEFORE checkout, the cleaning woman knocks and opens my door! I'm like, ummm yes? I WILL be leaving join specified check out time. She walks out and lurks until I leave.
I'm very saddened that this is how my experience was. I was really hoping for more quality in what they put out for customer service.

Very Welcoming, The 2 owners have done a Great Job of providing a Home away from Home.
A lot of attention to detail is evident in the way the rooms are outfitted and Furnished.
The staff and owners were hands on in their attention to detail and welcoming spirit.

First time staying here but have made reservations for next February! This hotel is awesome! Sara and all her staff are the best. Stayed in the junior suite. Had a bottle of wine in our room on arrival. Always kept bottled water available each day when housekeeping staff cleaned our room. Accomidated any requests we had. Bathrobes, house slippers, daily fresh towels, washcloths, toiletries! Bed was perfect. So convenient to everything downtown. Walked everywhere. So glad they were able to renovate this building. Preserved hardwood floors and decorated tastefully. Attached Chico's restaurant such a plus. Bar was on opposite side. Only drawback was no on-site laundry. Best remedy for us is to bring more clothes!!

While staying in Room 206, Ican hear the guitar player in the pub below my room clearly that I could hear him singing Bad, Bad Leroy Brown. I regret leaving my earplugs at home, but I should not have needed them based on the price of my room. The room itself is quite comfortable.

We were quite a large group of extended family that stayed here for a weekend wedding. This hotel was absolutely beautiful! Each room (and I saw quite a few from family members) had it's unique decor and historic treasures. The hotel was VERY clean and the staff was very accommodating and friendly. We frequented the Lounge both nights we stayed and had such an amazing time thanks to Liberty and her staff. I cannot say enough good things about her and thank her for going above and beyond to make sure our weekend was fabulous.
We had a wonderful breakfast at Chica's restaurant. I personally did not eat dinner there, but other family members did and said it was very tasty. My only suggestion would be to maybe open a coffee counter in the restaurant an hour earlier as it's hard to wait until 9:00 for good coffee. Although, we took a walk a couple of blocks away and found a Boston Coffee location that suited until Chica's opened.
Oh how I loved it here and hope to visit again someday. This place is a gem!!!

Artisan Hotel which is an historic inn was saved by a wonderful family and turned into a charming boutique hotel was much enjoyed by us with our small Italian Greyhound Milo over Christmas. They were very accommodating and the the suites were well appointed and in lovely neutral hues. The town of Deland is full of many shops and eating establishments to suit all desires. Stetson University and the mansion is a must visit. On property is a delightful Cuban Restaurant good for all course of the day. (the only thing I would recommend is a tiny microwave).

Room was very cozy, decorations were cute and location was fantastic. The only reason I give it a 4 vs a 5 is because the grout on the bathroom floor and shower were cracking and the baseboards were extremely dusty. Not horrible but not 5 star. Staff was very friendly!

Yes we do have elevators to all floors
Hello Phalice,
Thank you for your question. We are not a pet-friendly establishment.
Hello Mac,
Thank you for the inquiry and visiting our site. We would love to accommodate British Soldiers; however, Pauline is right. We only have 8 boutique suites. You may want to consider Hampton Inn and Suites or Comfort Inn in Deland.
Please visit Sinatra's Ristorante for fine dining and piano bar at the Artisan Downtown when in Deland!
Cheers,
Sara
