As part of our trip as a couple we stayed at Humming Bird Cottage which had everything you need. There is a little block/shed with washing machines and clothes dryer on site (have plenty of change). You can hire the boats for a lazy potter around the St Johns river - perfect for great photo opportunities, or you can take the little ferry across to the island and explore; again photo opportunities are fabulous if you're quiet and patient. I would recommend this 110% and will be going back. The staff are SO accommodating and knowledgeable. They deserve LOTS of credit as they make your stay interesting and fun.

We stayed in one of the duplex units. It doesn’t have a view of the river but it does have a picnic table where we sat outside and enjoyed watching a family of sandhill cranes walk by and a hawk building its nest. When we wanted a water view, we took our breakfast/snacks/wine to one of the tables on the dock and enjoyed that very much.
We loved being so close to Hontoon Island and went over there a couple of times on the ferry that is provided at no charge. We went once for a hike and once for a bike ride.
The room was clean and comfortable. There was signage saying that because of lack of staffing, there would be no daily cleaning while we were there. While that was not a problem, I feel we should have been compensated for that. I asked at the desk for a discount because of the lack of daily housekeeping and the attendant said a manager would contact me about that. He/she never contacted me. If they had, I would have given this lovely resort 5 stars instead of 4.

Very cute and very clean. The grounds are very pretty and well taken care of. It’s pretty neat that you can rent boats from them or even take a guided boat ride. Please note that not all of the accommodations are on the water. Our little cottage had a view of the parking lot on one side and the hotel maintenance area on the other, so not exactly scenic. Also, this is an old facility. It gives you that “old Florida” experience everyone seems to want. Just note that with that experience comes a teeny, tiny bathroom with an even teenier, tinier shower. I still liked this place a lot, but after a couple of days, I was ready to leave and check in at a place that had a shower that was big enough to shave my legs in.

The cottages are well appointed, spacious. It has to be the one of the most comfortable sofa beds I have slept on , elderly family members on the bed . The area is quiet , off the beaten path. The staff is exceedingly nice and concerned about guests. The amenities are nice , lovely deck seating and the river bout tour was relaxing , we did see manatees.

We elected to not stay at a chain hotel while visiting the Blue Springs State Park to see the manatees. We thought FLORIDA ALL THE WAY was in order. That is what we got! Stunning location right on the river with natural surroundings and the added attraction of being able to rent a pontoon boat right in front of your room. The front desk clerk was very friendly and accommodating.
The room was VERY clean, but basic. The TV remote would not allow a change of volume or channel despite the front desk reviewing how the remote worked. My husband who is well seasoned with electronics finally gave up after fiddling with it for about 15 minutes. We didn’t come to watch TV, but we do like to watch the news each evening. Mattress was not too firm and not too soft.
Our only complaint other than TV problems was the price. We paid $185, but it was manatee season and a NASCAR race was scheduled during our stay.
We would return to this hotel. I would give it a B+ rating for location and cleanliness.

Relaxing, beautiful. Great accommodations with the friendliest people working there. Marilu was an absolute joy to deal with. We were a family group in the executive suite, a queen suite and regular (smaller) room.
Exec suite is so spacious with everything you need. We grilled out on the grills provided. Rented the pontoon boat for a day to tool around the river and tube at one of the springs. Restaurant and store were closed for renovations after flood damage. We enjoyed it so much that we've already made reservations for next year.

My wife and I had a nice time at the resort. Staff was very friendly and accommodating. We will most likely return , but will probably upgrade to a suite. The resort is in definite need of some TLC as the resort is showing its age in places.
In addition, the resort is NOT affiliated with the Hontoon State Park and the ferry that takes you over to the island.
There is a deli for breakfast and lunch as well as a gift shop for necessities and themed apparel.

Honestly I was a bit skeptical driving toward this resort, BUT, honestly I was very impressed! It is off the beaten path, but a lovely spot! Our room #9 had a king bed and a small refrigerator freezer. The dressers had ample room but the best part was opening the back door and looking at the St John’s River. ..Magnificent! There was a pool, picnic tables chairs outside the back door a small store beer/soda chips . You could rent a pontoon for the day IF you have a boating safety license. The town was a bit away but there were two restaurants that were within 5 miles. The town had a small theater that had fantastic shows. We saw “noises Off” which was extremely well done. It was at the Athens theater. Don’t miss it. The town had bars and restaurants, but be sure to use GPS AND YOUR BRIGHTS, as NOTHING looks the same at night!! Would definitely recommend it. Nice, clean and lady who checked us in was very nice and friendly..

We rented a pontoon boat for a beautiful day on the river. Rode down thru Woodruff Wildlife Refuge, a piece of old Florida. Then to Blue Springs State Park, so scenic & serene. Manatees swimming by. The boat had a few minor problems, & getting on & off was a challenge for our over 80's passengers. This marina seems to cover all the bases.

Very nice clean rooms, great view opens up to river and view of Hontoon Island in the back of the room. Spacious room nice bathroom, small fridge. It’s very quiet and the beds are incredible comfortable, best sleep of my life! I would say families with small kids would not want to open the door by the river as there aren’t any barriers to the river.

Hi, I would log onto their website as we did not have any pets with us. Fantastic time though. Good luck.
We did rent directly from the resort. You can fish from the house boat OR pull over and fish from an island, shore or rent a small skiff. Fished and did catch some. Very diverse fresh and salt. FABULOUS time.
Price does not include breakfast, but there is a little store and gift shop which has breakfast sandwiches and other things. Room have a small refrigerator and microwave. I don' t know exactly where the skediving area is, but Deland itself is not far. The boat ride on side it the ultimate in viewing the "Old Florida". Hope this info helps.
How do i book a spot on the river tour boat and is there a charge, if so what is the cost? Thank you
Log onto Hontoon Landing in Deland. It explains it all. Good luck.
No they don't.
