The hotel is right on the ocean. Listen to the Atlantic all night long. The refrigerator with an ice box was appreciated seeing we were storing ice for the coolers. The room is clean, actually, very clean, the staff was kind, and one felt among friends when having breakfast. The parking lot was safe, and many spots. Yes it could use some updating, but the price didn't shout 5* so just be happy with clean, comfy beds, a nice size tv, a great pool, an ocean view and excellent area restaurants. We dined at Sessions, and Charlie Horse. Both great!

My husband & I spent 5 weeks at the Tropical Winds & were very pleased. The rooms are spacious & clean & the view off the balcony is to die for. The staff is outstanding, anything we needed was only a phone call away. Our houskeeper, Audrey was a gem, always did a great job & provided us with extra coffee when I told her we were coffee drinkers. We never wanted for a thing. The indoor & outdoor pools were always well kept & clean towels were always available. The cafe was a nice bonus when we didn't feel like making breakfast we could go to the cafe & order just about anything & at very reasonable prices (and the coffee was very good). We would return in a minute.

We have stayed at this hotel 3 times over the last few years on our way to visit relatives in Florida. We have never been disappointed. It is in a quiet beachfront location. Yes, it is an older hotel, but the rooms are always clean and the beds are comfortable. This time we got the deluxe room, which had a kitchenette, including sink, refrigerator, and stove. The staff are always super friendly and helpful. The cafe serves delicious breakfasts for a very reasonable price. We haven’t tried lunch. We will continue to come back to this hotel when we travel to Florida.

Hotel is a No-Smoking Hotel. Great not a problem. They even have you sign an additional document stating you will not smoke in the room. However, while at the pool I noticed a couple people smoking on their balconies. Also a couple other people smoking off to the side of the pool area. I guess it’s only No Smoking if you get caught. I had 2 sleepless nights as the bed was very uncomfortable. Very very firm. My shoulders hurt both mornings from tossing and turning as I’m a side sleeper. Which takes us too the incredibly hard uncomfortable pool chairs. They were hard plastic mesh webbing with stationary arm rests. But the arm rests weren’t where your arms would normally rest while sitting/lying in the chair. Lying on your stomach-forget it. Then getting out the chairs you had to scoot yourself down past the arms then push yourself off the chair. I currently have carpal tunnel and it was so painful getting out of these chairs. No one can get out of these chairs gracefully.

Great experience! The hotel was very clean as was our room. The entire staff were friendly and helpful. Great oceanfront view from the balcony. Nice kitchenette. One thing I would suggest is the hotel provide a roll of paper towel for cleanup when cooking and a towel for dishes.. Other than that everything was great. Would definitely stay again.

Stayed here for 4 nights at check in there was a line of people waiting to be checked in. Front desk staff some was very friendly some you was lucky if you got a smile out of them. Upon getting in our room we had only 1 pillow case on the pillows on beds and the pillows was filthy but whatever I always bring my own from home. Asked the housekeeper very young girl she said I don’t have any. Needed one for my husband cause he always uses hotel pillows. Also getting towels was a pain they always said I don’t have any believe they was having issues with their washer and dryer. Had to ask the lady at desk one evening for them and she didn’t say anything just handed me some she was one that didn’t crack a smile. But other then that… Our room 301 was very clean at check in and loved the view from oceanfront balcony the pools indoor and outdoor was nice. Outdoor pool was very dirty one day we got in they need pool cleaning crew to clean everyday not every few days like I saw. I got really good deal on a vacation website for booking the room I was very pleased for what I paid.

We had 2 nights here with an ocean view from our belcony as part of a traveling tour thing. We were told if we listened to this program, our hotel would be upgraded and we would get an ocean view and a $50 gift card. So we said why not. Well, after the program, we get our gift card and go to check into our rm. The outside of this hotel didn't look so great to us. We checked in the front desk lady didn't come across as ver friendly at all. Almost more like we were an inconvenience for her. The next morning a different front desk lady was really nice and helpful. Our hotel rm was small but clean and didn't have a lot to get in the door with a luggage cart. It had a full sized fridge and a small efficiency stove and sink. Our belcony door didn't have a latch on it. It was secured by metal bar. Our view was amazing. That was the only real postive. We felt that this hotel was no upgrade. We checked out online what our rm would have costed along with a couple other hotels near by that looked a lot nicer. There was only about a $10 difference between the hotels. We have stayed in Super 8 hotels for half their cost that were about the same or better than this place. I wouldn't have picked this hotel if we had been choosing where to stay. However it was clean and the beds were comfortable.

We spent two nights at the Tropical Winds. The room was clean and spacious. We were there on Super Bowl Sunday and they had a party for friends and guests with free pizza served. I'm not sure if other hotels do this or not but we thought it was a nice gesture. Oh, did l mention they held it in the penthouse? The staff was very attentive. We will definitely stay there again.

Booked this hotel via booking.com, based on price and ocean view room.
Couldn’t be more pleased. Friendly greeting at the front desk, upgrade without asking for ocean front instead of ocean view room.
Facility is roomy, clean, full kitchenette with dishes and utensils and small coffee pot. King size bed is fabulous, with plenty of pillows. Lying in bed and listening to the ocean is a real treat.
No negatives, highly recommend, we would come back here again!

We have stayed at this hotel several times attending the 24 Hours of Daytona sports car race. The location is convenient, good parking, clean rooms. We had 2 queen beds and a full size refrigerator which was nice. Recommended.

Sorry I can’t comment as to the temperature at the moment, as I was there end of September last year. Also do not know if the indoor pool is heated but were pleased with the hotel & staff were very friendly. The beach is excellent and great if you want to walk along the shoreline as it stretches for what seems like 2 miles🏃♀️!!

The WiFi runs throughout the building. I DID notice a breakdown of signal if the sliding door on balcony was shut so I had to keep the door open. You may need to request an Oceanside room because there are rooms on the sides and some on the front. Should have no problem getting Oceanside rooms during off peak. We visited April 12-16 and noticed MANY Oceanside rooms vacant.
There are more places to choose from in the Daytona Beach area.
