Bahama House is celebrated for its unique, home-like charm and standout character, with spacious rooms that boast stunning ocean views and modern comforts, as noted by many guests. While the service is generally regarded as friendly, there have been occasional remarks about staff efficiency. The hotel is praised for its cleanliness and overall value, offering complimentary perks that guests appreciate.
Despite some critique of the breakfast offerings, the amenities, including a popular happy hour, add to the hotel's appeal. Its prime beachfront location near various dining options further enhances the guest experience.

+1
4.5/5 hotel, much better than most in the area by far! A few condos are available for rent at similar rates though and are much nicer.
The lobby is nice, fresh, and updated. Continental breakfast is really good. I just wish they had scrambled eggs that seemed to be the biggest gripe I heard from others. They have snacks in the evening and happy hour as well.
Parking in the lot is limited. There is underground parking but this is tricky with larger vehicles, very tight. We had a dodge challenger rental car and getting out usually took a few Y turns and creative driving.
The rooms are nice. Our ceiling fan didn’t work, shower tub diverter leaked so water pressure was low, and the patio doors were old metal doors, windows heavily tinted (both good and bad). That kept the room cool but really limited the clear morning sunrise and messed with your perception of how nice out it was. I REALLY with there were glass sliding doors to get more window space and really take in the views. That was all the negative I could think of besides we had neighbors who were smoking on their deck and the breeze made it hover on our deck to the point we couldn’t sit out site and even noticed the smell in our room. Not the hotel’s fault, just inconsiderate neighbors.
Otherwise the rooms were great! Comfy beds, nice kitchenette’s fully stocked, good size, nice patio views. (Make sure you specify ocean front vs ocean view, they are different room types any many ppl at the front desk complained they thought ocean view meant ocean front. They don’t, ocean view are the side of the building.) The pool and hot tub are nice. Staff were always friendly and very helpful. There is drive on beach access right by the hotel as well.
We enjoyed the 4mi walk each day on the beach but if you want to be right in the center of the pier action, this many not be the hotel for you. If you want to relax while being close enough to experience everything else without the traffic and people, this is the perfect location!
Daytona Beach Pier is 1.8mi walk north
Grocery store 0.4mi walk south
Plenty to do/eat around but would recommend uber or rental car if you don’t have your own.

This hotel is located directly on the beach and a short distance from DAB airport (we ubered for $14). They were gracious enough to let us check in early, with kind service. We had a room with a kitchenette, which I would highly recommend! The King room was like an apartment studio and I appreciated the larger space. We were able to get groceries and wine delivered from Publix (ordered online). Having the option to eat on our ocean facing patio was great and saved on $ too! One downside is that the beds feel a bit springy and lower on the comfort level. The room and hotel areas were clean. The staff I interacted with were pleasant. The continental breakfast was what you would expect (decent selection). The breakfast staff kept the area well stocked and they seemed to pay close attention to keeping the area clean. The cocktail hour was a nice perk and offered beer and wine (no additional cost). They provide chairs to take to the beach or sit on a patio area. The pool area and hot tub were very basic. The hotel is within walking distance from a few restaurants and about a 2 mile walk on the beach from the pier. We had a local electric bike rental deliver bikes to the hotel- highly recommend this as well-great way to explore the area! If you are expecting the Ritz-or something fancy, this isn't for you. If you are looking for a laid back, relaxing vibe for a great value, I would highly recommend! We will be back!

We booked this hotel because we wanted a clean hotel with an oceanfront view, like the ones pictured in Priceline. When we arrived to check in I asked for a room with a good view & was told by the person checking us in that our room will be on the side of the hotel with a partial ocean view since we would be staying for 5 nights (not sure why that mattered but it did to her). The way the hotel is set up you have no view of the ocean unless you go out a door onto the patio on the side of the room and look around the building to see the ocean, so not an oceanview like the pictures on both Priceline AND the Bahama House website. The rooms were in serious need of an upgrade. Bottoms of bathroom doors were peeling, cabinets in the kitchen were warped & wobbly all the way across, stains on the carpet outside & inside the room, parts of the ceiling were peeling, many metal parts in the bathroom were rusty (toilet paper holder, parts of toilet, etc). I know it wasn’t a 5 ⭐️ hotel, but clean & comfortable are very important to me. The hotel lobby & eating area have been updated and look really nice and clean! The pool was closed for at least a day with caution tape around it which was a bummer. After 2 nights in the non ocean view room we went to inquire about our current room vs what we paid for. This time we were told we paid for a partial ocean view and what we wanted was oceanfront. I asked what we needed to do to get the ocean front view we came to see and she said there was a room available for an additional $30+/night. Since this was super important to us I paid the extra $130 but it is unfortunate that their pictures & descriptions aren’t correct. The breakfast was ok, not a lot of healthy choices besides a banana for me but it was nice it was offered. The happy hour was a really nice extra too but don’t get too excited about those fresh baked cookies they say are always there, they said due to Covid they haven’t done those in a long time. Overall we were happy to be on the beach, we just wish it was as advertised without paying additional money & we wish it was cleaner & less things were falling apart 🤷♀️ Pretty disappointing to say the least.

Hello Julie we apologize for any confusion on our room types. We do offer a variety of views and encourage travelers to call us directly so that we can clarify our different room types and views offered. We are in the process of doing renovations throughout our resort. We currently have a balcony renovation going on and have several more upgrades planned. As for our continental breakfast we offer a variety of healthy options including hard boiled eggs, yogurt, cereal, bagels and fruit. Additionally, we offer muffins, pastries, pancakes and breakfast bars. Our beverages include coffee, tea, juices and milk. We have had to make some adjustments due to Covid but we are happy to have been able to bring back our complimentary daily happy hour. We sincerely apologize if we fell short of your expectations as we strive to give each guest a 5-star experience.

Could use some refreshing of room finishes (carpeting, painting). Had a oceanfront room that a full beautiful view of the ocean & beach at a reasonable price per night. Room had a strong sweet flowery fragrance smell from air freshener being sprayed after housekeeping's visit. Assume it is to mask something. Staff was nice & pleasant. Overall though was good & would consider going back.

This place is great for under $100 per night, however we were there over father's day weekend and paid over $330 per night. This is NOT a $300+ room per night hotel. The front desk staff are SLOW and not friendly, there was never less then a 20 min wait at the front desk.
I made the reservation, and had to be someplace it took a manager and some begging for them the let my husband check in once our room was ready, even though he was there with me.
There are NO smoking signs everywhere for all types of smoking yet you got a buzz as soon as you walked out onto your balcony.
The rooms are dated, toilet was crooked, rust and mold around the bathroom. The A/C unit was so loud we had to unplug it both nights so we could sleep. NO restaurant or bar at the hotel.
We had a car, and couldn't find parking onsite, even with their underground parking.
This is a great place for $100 per night, I wouldn't want to stay here again, take my chances someplace else.
The hotel itself is nice looking and right on the beach, that is about it.

My recent vacation at the Bahama House was my second this year. I couldn't say which one was the best.
The impact of starting a vacation in a resort that is well maintained and hosted by friendly and warm hoteliers is as good as it gets.
Entering our ocean front room and seeing the beautiful Atlantic Ocean, the white Daytona Beach Shores sand and the delicious Florida sunshine started our vacation perfectly.
Although the Covid situation caused a reduction of some hotel offerings I was always aware that if I needed something to make my stay more comfortable I just had to ask.
Parking is free and indoors which is a teal plus. WiFi as well.
The beds are comfortable and the accommodations perfect. The pool is perfect and the beach is steps away. I suggest bringing your own chairs and beach umbrellas. Food trucks travel the beach, as do many beachgoers which makes for tasty offerings.
I intend to revisit the Bahama House and suggest you do as well.

The room's view was spectacular. Trying to get onto the balcony was a real fight, though, needing strength to cope with an old style steel door that required a lot of force to open. I was there during Eta. Although the room was noisy due to the gale force winds it didn't feel as if the large windows were at risk of leaking or failing. The air inside the room was very humid. The bed sheets seemed moist and even the tp seemed to be absorbing moisture from the air. When I tried the AC, water bubbled beneath a plastic shield that had been installed above it. I am not a fan of mildew and dirty AC so I did not use it much. There were signs posted about mask wearing that many guests ignored. Strangely, a partial buffet breakfast was served. If there are pancakes, why not toast? So I ate pancakes two mornings. The pancakes were not warm despite being offered in what one would assume was a warming dish. Butter did not melt on the pancakes, not even a little bit. The second day the juice machine was also off the grid. A posted sign said it was not working. There were some dry cereals and yogurt as well as bananas offered. Basically the room itself was average sized. The bathroom was small. There was a full sized refrigerator and a couple of burners as well as a microwave. The internet did not work very well even after the storm had passed.

We stayed at The Bahama house in late July. We were very pleased with our room and location. Everything was clean and our kitchenette room was quite spacious. The lobby was quite welcoming and the property very well maintained but could use updating. Parking is very tight so be aware! Masks were said to be mandatory but it was not well enforced yet all the staff wore them. Guests walked around without masks and even after being told you CANNOT eat in the dining room, they did. No one made them move. If one must follow the rules, all must follow the rules.Breakfast was mostly packaged goods due to COVID but there was a nice variety. The location is beachfront and you literally walk out the back and down the steps and you are on the sand. The beach is beautiful. The staff was very helpful yet the front desk would not win a congeniality award with some of the guests. We experienced no issues but saw interactions that the management would not be proud of. I work with the public and I know it can be very difficult at times. Overall we were very pleased and will return in the future.

The Bahama house has done a lot of renovations and the rooms look really good! Their updated comfortable and decorated well. They need the soft clothes on the doors so you don’t hear the door slam and they need to change or update their mattresses. But otherwise we love it. Great value for your money.
