Reviews summary

The Nautilus Inn has earned accolades for its cleanliness and prime location, a stone's throw from attractions like Crabby’s and the Boardwalk. Guests rave about the comfortable rooms with ocean views, though some have noted outdated amenities.
The service is generally praised, though not without occasional hiccups. Despite the appealing outdoor seating and event space, reviewers warn that the hotel's value may not align with its rates, especially given the cutback on amenities such as breakfast and happy hour.

Just came back from Florida to the cold UK. We stayed at the nautilus for the second time and it was better than the first. Sooo relaxing, great place, cannot recommend enough, see you next year guys and thank you. Ps… we’ll be looking out for your returning guests rates.

We didn’t know what to expect after being quoted a very reasonable rate for a Florida hotel that happens to be sitting on the beach! There was no need to be concerned though, because everything was fabulous. The lobby is large and beautifully decorated. We were there just after Christmas, and loved the blue/green nautical holiday theme. Check-in was easy, and the staff was helpful and kind. The rooms are large and include a kitchen, which we used every day. Our balcony overlooked the pool, hot tub, and ocean. The sunrise views were stunning. The beach in front of the hotel was clean and uncrowded, which is exactly what we were looking for. We enjoyed attending the daily Happy Hour on several occasions, and breakfast is served on actual plates...no styrofoam or plastic waste!! Thank you for that! There was a bit of remodeling going on...we left one day, and returned to no carpet in the hallway. It wasn’t a big deal to us, but I can see that maybe some of the longer term guest would have appreciated a heads up. Overall, we love this hotel...and want to come back with the kids and grandkids!

A lot to digest? Read an AI-generated summary of recent traveller reviews.
This hotel was right on the beach and although it did have a couple bad reviews we decided to give it a try due to the good ones. when we got there we were pleasantly received by the front desk agent Leena who was very kind and knowledgeable, she took her time to explain where everything was located and gave us suggestions on activities to do in the area.
we then went up to the room and we’re mesmerized by the beautiful view of the ocean that welcomed us, even though it was an ocean view room it should’ve been an ocean front. we were up high on the ninth floor so we had beautiful views of the sunrise every morning as well as birds flying by during the day the room was impeccable which is hard to find these days (I’ll make sure to add pictures for reference).
While we were chatting with the morning clerk Cam, we witnessed couple old people complaining about the activities that the hotel had with the previous management. yes there is no complimentary breakfast but they do have a coffee station in the morning with muffins and danishes to fill up your tummy plus the rooms come equipped with a working kitchen so people can just cook their own breakfast. during that same interaction. The old folks kept complaining about not having free booze which we thought was pretty funny, Both Cam and Leena were able to deal with those people in the most kind manner explaining that due to staffing issues are not able to bring back the amenities that the hotel once had they threatened to leave a bad review because of it. We realized that they were very unpleasant people that can’t get away with getting free stuff anymore and are butthurt about it. the hotel was great, pool was clean, room was above our expectations, kind service and they don’t deserve bad reviews that bitter oldies leave (hence why I’m writing this long and detailed review). I believe that this hotel has a lot of potential and it was worth our money we will definitely be back and shout out to the front desk staff they were awesome

For years we've been coming to the Nautilus and felt we'd found a wonderful gem. The day would start with a very fine breakfast buffet, then you'd go outside to find the patio being washed down and the pool vacuumed. Someone would come around and raise all the umbrellas (they're a bit heavy and awkward for the average guest to handle). In the afternoons they would have a happy hour for guests, It was a nice time to meet and socialize with other vacationers. Just a wonderful, delightful and happy hotel.
Everything I just described is now gone.
In fact, I'd venture most all of the 4 &5 star ratings were about the hotel that was, not the one that exists today. It's still relatively clean but there hasn't been one change that's been an improvement. For example, they lock the door back into the hotel from the pool area, a real pain if the wife or kids have it. The garden areas were overrun with weeds, finally on July 3rd , of all days, they had someone come in and clean it up. Probably a month late but at least they finally took care of it. And it's a shame they couldn't fix 1 of their 2 elevators prior to the July 4th weekend. Also, there was enough sand in the pool to build a castle. Not a huge deal but a far cry from how it was maintained in the past. To me it looks like the new ownership is trying to squeeze every nickel they can out of the place.
For us, the Nautilus was a given every time we came to the Daytona area. Now, it is just another hotel on the beach, still okay but nothing special. As such, we'll look elsewhere and try hard to once again find a gem like the old Nautilus Inn.

For almost 30 years we have been staying at the Nautilus Inn for our numerous trips to DB. It was a hidden gem amongst the strip of look-a-like hotels along the beach. The staff were always friendly and helpful, and with the morning breakfasts and the evening social hour, the other guests and staff became almost like family. They were meticulous in keeping everything, including the outside deck and pool areas washed and cleaned daily, all at a fair price.
But no longer. The Denure family sold out this treasure to a large corporation that obviously does not care about anything but profit and they have quickly destroyed everything that made this place a standout. No more breakfast, no social hour, no maid service. The previous familiar staff that you got to know on a first name basis year after year are gone, along with the warmth and their sense of welcoming appreciation. Walking through the hotel now is like visiting a ghost town. If you want anything, anything at all, even daily needs such as clean towels or your garbage removed, you have to go to the front desk and ask. The friendly staff that you used to see every morning cleaning the grounds so immaculately are non-existent, and it shows, as the once spotless pool and grounds are history as the weeds are taking over deck area and the pool and hot tub are dirty and full of debris. All at a higher price.
Of course, they blame Covid for all of this, but that is no longer an excuse, as virtually every other hotel nearby has returned these amenities now. It is just poor mgt and the search for profit.
A huge renovation for the Nautilus Inn is in the near future, and while it may modernize the rooms (that do need it) and the lobby (that doesn’t), unless they return to the family and value philosophy of the previous owners, (which I doubt) instead of just greed and profit, this will be our last stay at the Nautilus Inn. So Sad.

Having never visited Daytona Beach before, I picked a hotel at random. I decided to go to the Daytona 500 in January so there weren't many places available so that had me worried. I'm very happy to report I had a great experience.
I checked in late, had a package delivered, had to cancel one of two rooms I booked. I interacted with several different employees at the counter and they were all very friendly and extremely helpful.
As another reviewer mentioned (Ross I believe was his name) sheets, towels service were all changed to on-demand but that wasn't because of a new corporate take over, my understanding was that it was for COVID control, limiting staff and guests interaction as much as possible which is more than fair.
When we needed towels, they were sent up promptly. Since we were a fairly Hygenic bunch, we didn't need new sheets every day. They took garbage as required. They did the best they could to make our experience a good one.
One employee even went out of their way to make sure I could get my race tickets printed out. It was a long frustrating journey for both of us.
I assume once COVID is done and gone, all those little details that made the hotel great will return. As for my stay, it was great and I would definitely go there again.

My friend and I have been going to the Nautilus Inn for several years and have always loved staying there. Of course Covid has changed a lot of things but I feel that a maid service is a necessity for any hotel. There isn’t even a coffee machine in the foyer or donuts, or pockets of cookies or anything offered. Other hotels have managed to offer a maid Service to at least make the beds and tidy and clean the bathroom, so I feel that the Nautilis Inn is taking advantage by not looking after their customers after they have arrived.
I do have to say that the rooms are lovely, they offer spectacular views of the ocean, the bathroom and kitchen areas are nicely decorated, there are plenty of television channels, and there are plenty of lights in the room.
The one thing that has not changed unfortunately are the beds. The loose (not fitted) blanket underneath the bottom sheet is not a substitute for a mattress cover, it bunches and folds all the time making it quite uncomfortable. The beds are extremely firm which are fabulous for the younger clientele, but for older people, a softer touch is preferential. Maybe a nice pillow top mattress protector is in order here, just a suggestion.
My friend and I drive from our respective homes, each of us about 2 1/2 hours away to meet for a few days of friendship shared together. We have stayed here probably over 10 times in the last five or six years and other than the restaurant being shut down, no changes have been noticed by either of us. We have noticed that several loungers sitting outside were ripped and also there are tables and chairs, but there isn’t even a drinks machine that one could buy a soda to enjoy outside.
I know that this hotel has new management, but to keep it a desirable place to visit, someone should initiate some changes in the near future.

Views of the ocean from every room! We stayed on the 5th floor with an ocean view. The room was one of the cleanest rooms we ever stayed in. We bring cleaning stuff with us, most rooms need help, but all my cleaning rags came up clean. Even the vents in the a/c were clean. They are replacing the carpet in the hallway and painting. The breakfast is okay, nothing exceptional there. The bathroom is a one butt bathroom, but most are. It has a full size frig and oven. also, they have a microwave. The location is very good. I will stay with them again! Hope to see you there.

This was one of the nicest oceanfront hotels I have ever stayed at. I stayed down the street at Wyndham ocean walk and my room at the Nautilus Inn was a lot nicer. I had a king bed room with a full kitchen and I payed on average 200 a night what more can you possibly ask for. The pool was generally very clean unless it was really windy then leaves would blow in through out the day which is understandable. Maile and Kathy were so incredibly nice to me through out my whole stay. I travel with a 2 year old and they made it so I could have a early check in. They had my room ready at noon when they have a 4pm check in. I appreciate that a lot!!! I can honestly say that everyone at the front desk did everything they could to make our trip amazing!! Everyone was extremely friendly and always said hi when you walked by I will definitely be back for my future trips to Daytona Beach. I would say the Wi-Fi could be upgraded or something because it wasn’t great at times. But overall I had the time of my life!!!! Thank you nautilus inn for a great vacation for me and my family!!!! Below are pictures I took from my balcony and I also took some pictures sitting in the hot tub as I watched the sun rise. Sitting in the hot tub watching the sunrise over Daytona beach is a amazing experience and one you can do very peacefully at this hotel.

My family and I stay at this hotel on many occasions. The hotel is beautifully renovated and is in a good location. I booked a reservation one month in advance only to realize that the hotel decided to not except my modified reservation. My confirmation email states that I have up to three days to change or cancel my reservation. I was in the cancellation or change timeframe when I needed to cancel one Night. I was told by an assistant manager that the hotel was booked and is now a three night minimum. Because the hotel decided to go to a three night minimum I was not able to modify my reservation. I was however given an opportunity to cancel my reservation but not modify it. I pleaded my case that I was within the cancellation policy that was sent to me through my confirmation email and I had every right to make those changes according to their email. I then realize that I was not gonna get anywhere with The assistant manager and I insisted on having a general manager give me a call regarding this issue. About 30 minutes later I get a call from the assistant manager again saying that the general manager will now allow me to cancel one night but now they’re going to charge me an extra $50 on my Saturday reservation. She gave me a lot of reasons why they had to charge me an extra $50 all of these excuses were basically to force me to cancel my reservation. The reason why am writing this review is to let individuals know that are looking to book to be cautious of this hotel and their cancellation practices. Even if you have it in writing they will not do the right thing without you throwing a tantrum or without charging you an additional fee to your current reservation. The general management should be ashamed of themselves for making customers have to deal with this type of customer service. My family and I are locals and we visit the area a lot. We were forced to keep the reservation for Saturday only because Daytona seems to be very full this weekend. My family and I will no longer stay at this resort due to the incompetent management and practices of their policies.

No it wasn't open when I was there. Actually the pool was empty. The lady at the front desk said they should have it open by the end of next month
If you have a reservation just give them a heads up you will be late. If not then if they have rooms ready you should be able to
