The condo we rented looked nicer online than it did in person. The unit had everything we needed as far as a fully furnished kitchen, towels, bathroom supplies, etc. However, the carpet was filthy, the tub was slow to drain, the broom was broken, the living room furniture was dirty, and the beds had egg crate mattress covers on them which were not comfortable.
There were not washer and driers in the units but there were some on the property and they were free to use. There was also an ice machine which was convenient.
There was only one person, the property manager, taking care of the entire facility. She did her best to accommodate everyone’s needs but she could have used some help.
The location was perfect with direct access to the beach and a short walk to restaurants and several attractions. The heated pool was nice too and there were plenty of chairs around the pool. You can check out beach towels to be used in the pool area and you can get fresh towels for your unit from the lobby.

Sea Shells Beach Club is a nice place to stay; it's a four story building located right on the beach. My 3rd floor room had a nice view of the ocean. The room was clean, though a little dated. It was a one bedroom, one bathroom unit with a full kitchen, living room, an dining area. There was a TV in the living room and in the bedroom. I really liked the floor to ceiling all glass living room wall facing the ocean, with a sliding glass door leading out to a public balcony. I enjoyed the view. I also liked that they provided a lot of extra bath towels, hand towels, and wash rags.

I frequently used the balcony stairs to go to the beach, after passing through the pool area. I also liked sitting on the lounge chairs at the end of the pool area, right next to the beach (but about 8 feet above the beach), where I could see and hear the ocean. It was like being on the beach without being in the sand and surf. I accessed the beach right from that same pool area, simply by walking down the few steps from the pool area to the beach.

I went in early November, and there were only a few other people walking or sitting on the beach at any given time. Many times, there were no other people out there. I had the whole beach and ocean to myself! The weather was pleasant and the water temperature was a comfortable 75 degrees.

There was a washer and dryer on the ground floor available for any guest to use for free. I didn't need to use them, though. I did use the small fitness room on the ground floor, near the office. It had a treadmill, a stationary bike, and a few free weights. There was never anyone else in the fitness room when I used it or walked past it.

If you want an ocean view, ask for a room that faces the ocean. There is an elevator and luggage carts, so rooms higher than the first floor aren't difficult to get to. But there also are first floor rooms along the parking lot, so for extreme convenience, you could ask for one of those (but those don't face the ocean).

The property manager was very accommodating, and seemed to be always onsite diligently working, cleaning, or at the front desk.

All in all, I think this is a nice place to stay. I really enjoyed it.

The room was clean and the staff friendly. No issues with sanitation. Laundry seemed to constantly be in use so we used a laundry mat for that. They also claimed the tv’s weren’t set up for Apple TV, fire sticks and gaming consoles. We discovered it is not the tv’s that aren’t capable. It is instead the wireless network. The network wants a password which isn’t bad but then the connection demands to display the hotel page which doesn’t work. So either the network is blocking or those boxes aren’t capable of connecting in that manner. We connected our Apple box to a Cell Phone hotspot and it worked fine albeit with my data service instead of the hotels. Additionally the wireless network didn’t store previously verified connections so the password had to be re-entered frequently. Annoying!

We've stayed here 3 prior times, but before the hurricane and new management. Things have changed. Our 303 room had a great view of the ocean and windows were cleaned; king bed was comfortable, but pillows very hard and sheets sized for a queen bed. Room 303 toilet has tissue under it to supposedly keep it level, and the bathtub has a part needing attachment. The slider is difficult to open, and the bedroom curtain does not roll up. TVs and wifi were good; outside chairs and beach towels supplied, plenty of bathroom and kitchen amenities and supplies, and all appliances worked, That's where amenities stop. According to Sea Shells website, these amenities are missing: heated pool, laundry, fitness room, and beach cruisers (bikes). The grill is pitiful. So their website needs to be updated, just as the resort needs updating. The elevator was last inspected 3.5 months ago Aug. 1, 2023.

Had to walk an empty lot and a building away to the public access to get to the beach as the resort stairway to the beach still has not been repaired after hurricanes Ian and Nicole in Oct & Nov 2022. Some caution tape or webbing should be installed because someone could fall down the open area of the cliff. Despite the location and friendliness of Corey, the manager who was gone a lot and has no control of the resort's finances, Steph who cleaned our room well, and Kevin who's been working maintenance 3 weeks and updating rooms on first floor oceanfront, we will probably not be returning to Sea Shells until Global Connection updates the resort. We booked through Global Discovery Vacation Club and had to pay an additional $61.25 for taxes and fees which seems to be a new fee for some of the Club's resorts. GDV keeps adding new members, but the number of resorts to choose from is decreasing. Photos are attached.

I set up a reservation through their website which never conveyed although the extremely rude lady at the front desk kept saying the information I was giving for the second time sounded familiar. Upon first approach no one was in the office and a sign on the door read to use the call box. It was extremely hard to hear and I had to put my ear right up to it in order to make out any words at all due to the noise from A1A. The voice on the call box seemed perturbed by the fact that they needed to go to the office to check me into my room. As previously stated, my reservation was no where to be found and the woman seemed even more put off by my presence. I finally re-booked my room and when asked for my ID, I asked if I could send an emailed copy because my driver's license had been lost in the mail and I was waiting for it to arrive in texas. I had a copy on my phone and offered my social and photo credit card as further proof of identification. I was told I seemed shady and she would not rent me the room. I am a single female staying by myself and offered to pay in full as well as pay the deposit with no objections. They were rude from the first minute I arrived and then wasted my time. Don't even bother booking since their own website can't even keep track of a reservation and they are extremely rude. That woman does not belong working in the service industry, especially in a place as trafficked by tourists as Daytona Beach.

Never in a million years spend your money staying at this hotel. The property manager Pat Steele is the worst I've ever met. Not a good human being. Anger issues. She treated us rudely at every moment. The door locking mechanism (key card) to go in and out of the room broke, Pat decided that instead of sending a handyman to fix our room door lock she would have us "find her around" so she could let us into the room. This was Daytona 500 weekend and the room charge was over $200 a night. Best part was going out to dinner and and four phone call Pat finally responded of course angrily because she was already in her room. Again, we asked for a handyman and angrily she responded if we were not content "you can happily leave". I am appalled that Pat Steele is gainfully employed in a customer-facing role. I can assure you that I will never consider coming back to this hotel. I sincerely hope that anyone considering renting here decides to spend their money literally anywhere else. STAY AWAY!

The only positive thing about this "resort" was the location steps from the beach. We and our Son had one bedroom condos next to each other the sliding glass door needed new "rollers" you needed to be a body builder to open the door. The condos were filthy the carpet was disgusting the furniture was also dirty. The plastic chairs on the balcony were a joke never enough it would seem the resort could afford at least 2 cheap plastic chairs per condo. We had mold in our condo which was cleaned of with a sponge and CLR. The sleeper couch is non functioning air mattress provided the one in our Son's leaked the Grandchildren choose to sleep on the coach.

We were nervous about our stay with some of the horror stories on here. Yes, the place is older, but I’ve definitely stayed at older and smaller. Overall the value for the place you get is great.

New management was very kind, offering good insight and thoughtful response with every and any question (especially as we were debating leaving early with hurricane Nicole— thankfully we did!).

Furthermore, they were working hard to update amenities and were always so warm and polite every time we crossed passed. They were willing to take my full trash bag to the dumpster for me on my way, helpful getting beach chairs and towels, prompt when our bathtub didn’t have a plug to get us a new one.

We booked for a week which included Memorial Day wkend. They had overbooked so there weren't enough parking spaces on site. This did become an issue between guests. We were reluctant to leave because we thought we might not have a parking spot when we got back. We felt this was poor management. Also, every time we have had to go by the main lobby, the door has been locked. We had to 'call' for the lady who always seemed very annoyed that she was being disturbed. We have come here before & the folks up front were very friendly as were the rest of the staff. It's been a bit disappointing this time. Towels, beach chairs, grill tools, & coffee packets are available. Pool got redone last year & looks great. Some updates have been done to the room, but still need some more. Kitchen isn't well equipped for cooking. Location is amazing & views are spectacular. This property has the potential to be a fabuous resort. That's not being met at this time.

There are ocean front units and city view units. There are balconies that run around the resort and there are a couple of units that have private balconies.
