My fiance and I had a really hard planning a honeymoon trip for the first week of August 2020 for painfully obvious reasons. When I came across the Savannah Inn on Trip Advisor, I sent it immediately to my fiance because of how quaint it seemed and how great the amenities looked. We were NOT disappointed and had a fantastic time regardless of the circumstances.

A few highlights:
Incredibly friendly staff!!! Every single one from the owner to each housekeeper.

The breakfast food was to die for. A regular guest even brought prosecco for mimosas! We didn't eat anything until dinner each night because the breakfast was so filling. There was a continental spread with plenty of delicious coffee and flavored creamers and each day there was a hot breakfast served in addition to the continental.

Happy hour! My husband and I got a kick out of the happy hour set up each day around 3 and we'd take full advantage of it each night. Red & white wine along with a spread of yummy snacks were set up and were left out until breakfast the next morning.

Coffee, hot tea, bottled water, and canned sodas were also available at all times.

Our room was super cute, comfortable, and clean. There was lots of storage! Shampoo, condition and body wash were provided as well as a hair dryer. The AC unit was quiet and we could change it to how we wanted it. We had cable TV and there was a DVD player, too.

We played board games and watched DVDs that were provided. We used the Inn's bikes to ride around downtown historic Lewes. The Inn is walking distance to 2nd Street--an adorable street flooded with coffee shops, restaurants, and retail.

I believe you could walk to the beach from the Inn, however we chose to drive because we found a little public beach that had free parking!

All in all, we had a blast in Lewes. What a great honeymoon, even though it was originally atypical for what we had in mind! Staying at the Savannah Inn made a huge difference. We would recommend staying here to absolutely anyone and everyone!

Only visiting the beach and state park on occasion in Lewes, I was so pleasantly surprised by the hospitality, coziness, mountains of food, cleanliness and just overall relaxation provided by our stay at the Savannah Inn. The room was gorgeous, with big skylights, an area to sit and have coffee or a light meal, quiet and super clean. Each morning we were greeted by Mary, who whipped us up an incredible breakfast for three days straight. She took the time to remember our names, write us a little card upon arrival, and know get to know us a little more each day through small pleasant conversations. Each evening, the owners and hosts put out wine, snacks, tea and coffee (and LEFT IT OUT!) for people to enjoy throughout the evening. This was perfect for us coming in late on the first night, and upon our return from a long day paddling or just walking around the downtown area and beach.

In walkable distance from the restaurants and shops, or a small bike ride away from the beach and state parks, the location is absolutely fantastic. The historic district of Lewes is expansive, and absolutely stunning. You can see the care and repeat people have for the community. Explore the scenic neighborhoods, walk around a gorgeous waterfront park where you can enjoy basketball and tennis courts, or try your luck at chess or checkers with bay views. On rainy days, you can hang out at the inn on the closed in porch, the game room or the living room areas. You are also within a short distance from the highway strip and Rehobeth, where there are plenty of shops, dining and entertainment options on rainy days.

I highly recommend you stay and this absolute perfect Inn!

Our entire experience at Savannah Inn was delightful. From the afternoon we checked in until the morning we left our stay was an example of excellent customer service combined with wonderful amenities and a perfect location. My husband and I stayed in the Beach Suite which I highly recommend. There is off-street parking with easy access to this suite using an outside staircase and private entry from your sunny private deck. The exterior of the inn is very cheerful due to blooms and blossoms everywhere. The cheer continues indoors as Mary, the hostess, explains where you can find everything you need, such as ice and morning coffee plus gives you very helpful information and directions to sights around Lewes. The Beach Suite is very spacious and has a living area with a sleeper sofa and a TV. Next to the living area is the bedroom with a king bed plus a nicely appointed ensuite. As you pass through the bedroom you enter a sunroom-type area with another TV and comfortable chairs. A closet offers plenty of hanging space, an iron, small fridge and microwave. The entire suite was spotless, quiet and the mattress was very comfortable. The inn is a very short walk from downtown Lewes and numerous restaurants including our favorite, Agave. Lewes is charming and the thousands of colorful blooms were the perfect antidote to months of Covid. I cannot attest to the quality of breakfasts because much to Mary's dismay I am a late sleeper while on vacation and did not get up to taste her tempting meals. SORRY! I have no doubt that they lived up to the overall quality of the inn because that's just the type of place this is. Everything is topnotch and wonderful. Thanks so much for a great stay in Lewes!

We stayed at the Savannah Inn last year and decided to return for a long weekend this year. Once again, a wonderful stay! Mary is the ultimate host, gracious and helpful, but also respects the privacy of the guests. We stayed in the Beach House Suite and enjoyed the spacious rooms and loved having afternoon wine on the private deck. The breakfasts were delicious and we enjoyed having the appetizers and drinks the Inn provides for Happy Hour.
There are several common areas for guests to enjoy including a porch, game room, and sitting room.
The Inn's location is perfect for walking downtown and exploring the shops and restaurants of Lewes and is about a 10 minute drive to Cape Henlopen State Park.
I would highly recommend the Savannah Inn for travelers wishing to experience Lewes at its best.

My husband and I spent a long weekend in Lewes shortly after the COVID restrictions lifted. Savannah Inn is beautifully decorated, inviting, and a wonderful retreat for a weekend getaway. The rooms themselves are functional, with private baths, and comfortable bedding. Each morning the inn serves breakfast from 8:30-9:30am. We enjoyed french toast, eggs, muffins, and fresh fruit. The Inn also offers a comprehensive happy hour from 3pm onward (they leave the food out (covered) until morning. The Inn also offers massages. The masseuse was very sweet and did a wonderful job. The massage room is just off the kitchen and on the first level. As such it was quite noisy throughout the experience with the sounds of dish washing and furniture/footsteps from above. The rooms do not have private mini fridges but there is a community mini fridge on the third floor. We found it had trouble staying cold. There are no private balconies except for the largest suite in the house. The first floor features a beautiful wrap around porch with plenty of seating. The inn offers beach chairs, towels, umbrellas and two beach cruiser bikes. Its a short walk to and from the inn to local restaurants and shops. The inn had very spotty internet, and we often found we did not have connection. When asking the inn keeper for any assistance we often found our request minimized and the response was 'this is the way things are' versus 'let me try and change things or find a solution'. The owner was lovely and accommodating. We would definitely recommend the inn to friends and family and stay here again on a future trip.

Hi Lauren. I welcome your feedback and would offer you, if you come again a free massage. I am disappointed that this was a loud experience for you. We will be more mindful of this going forward when there are early massages going on. We did replace that refrigerator. Sometimes it is not until a guest tells us something like this that we were not aware it was running warm. Also, we seem to be getting the internet issue resolved. Comcast had been working on the pole outside of the Inn and we believe that may have been the issue. Stay well and we hope to see you again on another trip to Lewes. Sincerely, Marion and staff

This is our second stay at the Savannah Inn
We have travelled to many places, inside and outside the US and I can honestly say that the Savannah Inn is perfect on all regards.

This is a beautiful home which was renovated .
The rooms are tastefully decorated and the entire home is immaculately kept.

Mary, who runs the inn , makes a beautiful breakfast and sets up a lovely happy hour at 3pm.
It is clear that the home means a-lot to her and she keeps it meticulously.

You really could not ask for more.

The house is spacious . There’s an enclosed wrap around porch where you can sit and eat if you like or just sip some wine .
We took advantage of one of the sitting areas on a rainy day and enjoyed some of the many games there .

The location is one block from the center of Lewes and we walked to some of the restaurants for or dinner .
Henlopen state park is a five min drive a way.

Wonderful stay !!!

We needed to get away for the weekend to celebrate our anniversary and decompress. I always look for B&B's because they are more private and relaxing. Savannah Inn was this and more from the peaceful beautiful location, gracious hosts, and delicious food to the closeness of the ocean, beach and other activities. Even the weather seemed to cooperate even with the threat of Henri looming up the coast. The other guests were friendly and quiet as were we to create a kind & relaxing environment.

Our only regret is that we limited our stay to two nights. Obviously historic Lewes is beautiful, but the accommodations here will surprise you, as high as your expectations may be. Marian and Mary took great care of us and made us feel so comfortable, even in these unprecedented times, we always felt at ease. Breakfast was delicious and spending time conversing with the other guests was relaxing. And who doesn’t love happy hour?

We spent two nights in this perfect B&B. Mary gave us a wonderful welcome and went out of her way to make sure all our needs were met. The common area is a wonderful area to meet other guests but also provides plenty of private space. We stayed in the Beach House Suite. This room was bigger than our first little house! They offer a lovely cocktail time with lite bites from nutritious to yummy desserts. The weather was delightful so we decided to get takeout from a local restaurant. So many lovely restaurants are walking distance!! We had our dinner on our spacious private deck There is something for everyone at breakfast. They have a buffet and also make a homemade special of the day., so good!!!! The location is perfect for walking the historic and downtown Lewes and very close to the wonderful bike trails of Lewes and Rehobeth
