We had very pleasant stay here for 3 nights. The hotel is at the end of a golf course and adjacent to the water. Rooms are on the 2nd and 3rd floor but you can ask for help with your bags. Our room was spacious with a large bathroom. Bed was comfortable. Our specific room 213 was quirky as there is a step down to get into the room and a step up to get in to the bathroom, but at least the front desk told us about it in advance. The shower was difficult to regulate the temperature going from very hot to very cold.

Breakfast is included and is a nice assortment of pastries, cereal, hard boiled eggs, etc. Very nice.

We went to the restaurant there, La Plage, for dinner one night. Food was very good but the prices were too high and the portions too small.

We would definitely go back when in the area as the room rate was excellent and the service and location was very good.We just would ask for another room instead of room 213.

I used to swim here as a kid and going to Sunday. Brunch was always a big treat, but had never stayed in the Inn. So glad we did! We were only there for one night and didn’t really have a chance to enjoy all of the grounds (beautiful for a morning walk/run) and other amenities, but enjoyed our brief stay. We had a king room on the second floor, which overlooked the water, and was quite spacious with two sitting chairs and a large bathroom. Only one small issue was that the draperies didn’t fully cover the windows, so the sun peaked in early in the morning. The water pressure was great in the shower but a little slow in the toilet (though no issues). The bed was comfortable. The staff was efficient, though not overly friendly. The continental breakfast was really nice with a lot of coffee/tea choices, pastries, hard boiled eggs, yogurt and fruit. We will surely be back on our next trip through…hopefully will be able to spend more time.

The Inn at Longshore has a charm, warmth, and beauty rare in our times. The owners have been wise to maintain its look and sense of history while providing updated amenities; spotlessly clean, spacious rooms and bathrooms; and comfortable beds. The setting is stunning, from the drive through the original stone posts, down the tree-lined driveway that winds through the greens of the golf course, to the welcoming historic inn. With water views and easy walks along the shore, it is sheer pleasure to stay here. Also, for those seeking a venue for weddings or events, we have enjoyed both here. Our daughter chose the Inn at Longshore for her wedding, and, several of her friends, having experienced the inn's hospitality then, booked their own weddings there as well. Our wedding experience was exactly what one would hope - beautiful, smoothly run, delicious food, and a joy in every way. Many of the staff have been employed at Longshore for years - which says a great deal about the management and the atmosphere they have created for everyone involved. During our April stay, my husband and I had dinner at La Plage, the restaurant adjacent to the inn, and that too was exceptional. I am not exaggerating when I say our dinner was one of the best we've had at any restaurant....and again, the staff was efficient, friendly, and engaging. I gather changes are coming to the Inn and I hope they maintain the physical features, staff, and atmosphere that has made our experiences at the Inn at Longshore so meaningful.

This is a very lovely place and all that is advertised is actually true... staff is very nice and without any warning we were able to check in early. The pool is walking distance but part of community so a $10 fee is imposed but it is lovely with a nice river breeze. Food is available for lunch within walking distance of pool as well.
There is a restaurant on premises but it is not affiliated with hotel. Bar is excellent, food is okay but pricey for portions.

The Inn at Longshore was truly a charming surprise. I was a bit hesitant about this reservation since some of the reviews commented on its dated look. To me, this dated look was unique and interesting. By taking a third floor waterside room we had a lovely view of the water and the sunset. Climbing to the third floor was worth it! The room was spacious and very clean, the bathroom ample with a nice large soap bar and pretty black and white tile. What a change from the standardized look of so many hotel rooms these days. The staff was helpful and informative and the grounds beautiful. Our continental breakfast was ample and the coffee delicious. We would love to have an occasion to return.

Thank you so much for this review! We have a really wonderful staff, some of whom have been employed at this venue for over 28 years. Our team takes great pride in providing great service. We are slated to renovate sometime in 2025, but we pride ourselves in making sure the venue is clean and our guests feel welcomed and comfortable. We hope you have an occasion to stay with us again as well!

We stayed here for one night while on personal business in the area. The setting overlooking the sound is much more pleasant than what you would find at a chain hotel, but the facilities were a bit tired. The staff were very nice, and the complimentary breakfast was decent. Try for a 3rd floor room to avoid looking onto mechanical equipment. Also be forewarned - stairs only, no elevator.

As former Westport residents, we knew this place very well. Situated on the L.I. Sound, connected to a golf course and a popular site for weddings and events, our memories of "the Inn" are fond. The location is still outstanding, but the Inn is in dire need of a makeover. The rooms are dated, and everything needs to be updated. On our visit, we found it challenging to balance the noise of the window a/c unit, and the GFI switch in the bathroom was inoperative.
On the plus side, the staff was excellent, and the breakfast was fine. The restaurant attached, La Plage, is great for the view and the cocktails. Although we didn't eat here, the raw bar looked appetizing.

This is my second stay at the Inn at Longshore. I love this little Inn. Yes there are a lot of steps and yes the furniture is a little dated but this is what an Inn is all about. Lots of character. I found both stays quiet, comfortable and efficient . Quick checkin, lovely restaurant down stairs and beautiful grounds. My only complaint was the lighting in the room. There were not enough lights so it was a little dark to do work. I would also agree that you should call in advance to see if there is an event occurring while staying here. This is a big wedding destination.

We love staying at the Longshore. But if you are looking for a modern hotel with a modern vibe, this isn’t it.
The staff is so friendly, the rooms are spacious and clean and the location is so beautiful! We look forward to staying here again and again when visiting the area. We recommend the Longshore without hesitation.

Hi Irene - The closest airport is Westchester, however, we are also close to LaGuardia, NY and Kennedy International airport. Westchester is about 40 minutes (without traffic), LaGuardia is about 48 and Kennedy is about 1 hour. I hope this helps you and we will see you here for the wedding! Christine
