Detailed Reviews
After seeing the photos online we had high expectations for this accommodation. We are pleased to say that the whole experience of visiting Tracy’s Boutique Farmstay was just outstanding!
Finding lthe property was very easy using SatNav. The setting itself was tranquil with stunning views of the beautiful New Zealand countryside.
We were welcomed at the Farmhouse by our lovely hostess Tracy who showed us around the property and gave us touring tips for the area.
The farmhouse itself was even more gorgeous than the photos. Every part of the house has been decorated beautifully and we fell in love with it immediately and felt extremely comfortable during our two night stay.
The cleanliness and comfort would be comparable to a five star hotel but when you step outside you find yourself in the middle of a farm and are surrounded by nature.
Tracy took us on a tour of the farm which was great fun and very interesting.
She also took us past her beautiful Homestead and she showed us around the Cabin internally which was lovely too. We would gladly sleep in any of the rooms on offer on future visits as they all have their own character.
We have two daughters 9 and 12 who loved the visit as much as my wife and I, especially meeting the large variety of animals on the farm.
This is a fabulous and immaculate accommodation for couples or families.
A great location too, lots to do. We went walking in the hilltops and beaches, and snorkelling at Goat Island.
Breakfast was prepared by Tracy and this was amazing and enjoyed by all.
We couldn’t recommend this place highly enough and we will definitely be back.

This was my second stay at Tracey’s property, we had such a great experience the first time around that we had to come back. I booked the cabin again for my daughter and myself. The cabin offers a basic accommodation in the most comfortable and cozy way. It’s very cheerful, clean and welcoming.
The setting in the farm is as peaceful as spectacular, super private, quiet and ideal if you wish to disconnect from the city life, rest and have a good night sleep. My daughter slept on the sofa bed while I went for the big bed. I had the best sleep in the two nights we stayed there. Beautiful to wake up to the sound of birds.
The hamper with breakfast was a total treat! We loved the warmed bagels and beautiful orange marmalade, the sumptuous bowls with cereals covered in Greek yoghurt, bananas and fresh blueberries, super delicious. There’s nothing like waking up in the morning and finding this beautiful hamper outside the cabin, so beautiful and special!
Tracy couldn’t have been more welcoming and wonderful. She invited us to go for a walk with her around the farm on Sunday morning. We spent almost two hours walking in beautiful untouched surroundings, we saw cows, the river crossing the property and really enjoying the beautiful weather.
The downside of poor phone coverage in the area was a blessing in disguise. We didn’t have any issues with the Wi-Fi inside the cabin but to get phone reception I had to walk up to the barn, just 30 metres away. Again, a blessing if your aim is to disconnect and recharge, and really wonderful to see my teenager having a break from technology.
I’m really grateful for this wonderful weekend away. Tracy is a super host, super kind and welcoming. I will recommend this property for a perfect couple’s gateway or to disconnect from busy city life and technology.

My family really enjoyed the stay. Tracy and Skye the chihuahua promptly welcomed us. Tracy is a good cook I especially really relaxed about the breakfast. And the place itself was lovely. We had a quiet time that we needed.

Maybe it was the fact we were misled on all the reviews other people gave about how amazing this place is. Keeping in mind how this place included breakfast as well, we were pretty excited to stay. However it wasn't at all great, we didn't get any amazing cooked breakfast as her previous guest experienced, we were given eggs, bread, yogurt to eat and cook on a dirty hot plate with disgusting pans. The cabin wasn't what it looked like in the photos, so many things wrong with it, kitchen draws didn't open properly, cobwebs everywhere, dusty, not very clean for a baby to crawl around. We felt like the owner didn't care for our needs, she quickly showed us around then left and went to look after the other guest.
She should had advertised no cooked gourmet breakfast if you are booking the cabin place. Very unfair treatment. We paid to include breakfast, why give us anything less? Definitely would never stay at this place again and would never recommend any family or friends too!

Response from Tracy W, Owner at Tracy's Boutique B&B
Responded 19 Feb 2020
Thank you for taking the time to review our Cabin, which is our budget self catering accommodation. At our Homestead and in the American Barn House gourmet breakfasts are provided. However, for some unknown reason this guest believed we were providing a gourmet breakfast as part of the Cabin tariff. That is definitely not the case. The Cabin is a beautiful private space that is warm, spacious in its own separate building away from the other guest accommodation. Many guests are looking for quiet getaways and they are more than happy with the quality self catering Continental foods we provide for their breakfast. We now have a menu giving Cabin guests two hampers to choose from and the option to enjoy a breakfast prepared by the host for an additional cost. We try our very best to ensure that guests have the best experience we can provide and it is a pity that this guest chose not to communicate with us. We take great pride in offering a clean and tidy Cabin at all times and the Cabin has beautiful photography. Thank you for taking the time to read our response. Yours faithfully, Tracy Wood Owner

Tracy's instructions led us directly there. She had a welcoming fire and what a spacious comfortable area the "Barn" is.
Next morning but Tracy cooked a generous delicious breakfast. Would have loved to stay longer to explore.

My partner and I loved the peace and tranquility of this beautiful b&b. Tracy looked after us so well. Dinner and breakfast was so filling and tasty. The views are amazing. Sky is the coolest dog ever. So calm around guests and doesn’t make a sound. The crystal walk and the Reiki session was just what I needed. Tracy is super friendly. We stayed in the cabin it was so comfortable. Felt like a home away from home.

We stayed at Tracys B&B in January 2019 with our 3 kids and a wonderful time. We were looking a place to stop on our way from Hokianga Harbor heading south towards Auckland and wanted to break up the drive for a night. She fit us in at the last moment and we stayed in the Barn. Well it looks like a cool, new American barn from the outside but the inside is like a lush Tuscan villa. The views are beautiful from the veranda and it smells like honeysuckle. It is such a bucolic and elegant sight. The kids loved roaming the grounds and Tracy gave us a tour of her crystals and reiki treatment room. It was great to spend time chatting with her. The breakfast that Tracy made was gorgeous - french toast, fresh fruit and yogurt. This would be great for families, romantic getaways, girls' weekends or yoga retreats.

Tracy's B&B offers a comfortable relaxed and quiet place to stay. The countryside surrounding the homestead is beautiful and serene. The host is engaging and has a genuine interest in people, supporting them and their well-being. This is not a mainstream B&B experience. Come with an open mind to leave with more than what you arrived with.
