Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

The Inn is alright. It is a great place to stay if your daughter/son attends Yale, but other than that it is not worth your money. It is located in a neighborhood so you have to travel by car for any activities. It is not on the water-the pictures on the website are misleading. The service was okay, not the greatest. It did not meet our expectations and the owners did not do anything to make up for it. Which in my opinion is bad service!

We were interested in staying at a charming inn, close to Yale. It was a busy weekend and most accommodations were booked. We were able to book the Four Gables on a cancellation. We can see why the prior guests cancelled! The suite smelled like cat spray, the carpets were filthy, the decor was incredibly tacky, the bathmat looked like it was used to collect oil spills in the garage. This was an expensive room at $189 per night and the condition was inexcusable. The building exterior was in desperate need of repair - lots of peeling paint and an overgrown yard. We saw some of the other rooms, which looked better, but still tired. The cat spray odor was pervasive throughout the inn. The innkeeper was pleasant and accommodating, but it hardly made up for the foul environment. Given we had to drive to campus from this location anyway, a Comfort Inn or Motel 6 definitely would have been better. Thank goodness we were only there for one night!

We had a large and comfortable suite. Having peeked into other rooms, we could see that each has a unique theme. The Inn was within walking distance from restaurants, theater and shore points, and had quick access from the main highway. There was lots to do in the area. We enjoyed the full breakfast including fresh baked goods. Home-baked cookies greeted us in the living room. There was also access to a full kitchen from most rooms.
A most enjoyable weekend.

We have been coming to this bed and breakfast for the past 3 or so years we can afford to go any other place at any time however this Inn has been our peace our mind, cleansing medicine, with no disturbances that you find in large hotels. Te hosts have been incredible the food has been delicious for a "bed and breakfast" as that goes, we will always come back to this inn because of the personal and proffesional care that you recieve we wish all the best to the proprietors of the establishment.
