Everything else was mediocre for a hotel that was priced $160. Hope they will improve next time I come.
We arrived at 10 pm due to flight delays. We wanted to order room service since we hadn’t eaten dinner and were surprised to hear food services shut down at 10. The only options were to go to a local restaurant outside the hotel (the area is not safe at night) or Door Dash. Very disappointing for a large hotel.
In the bathroom, we were shocked to see the toilet sticking out of the sink counter. And worst, there was no lid so toilet spray would go all over the sink, floor, walls, and shower. I tried to move rooms that night but the apathetic front desk person said they were booked. My workaround was to put a towel over the toilet before flushing. The next day we were able to move rooms and that’s when I realized ALL of the rooms had the same set up. Fortunately our new room’s toilet actually had a lid. I’ve never seen a bathroom setup like this. It was strange, awkward, unsanitary, and inconvenient.

We were anticipating using the Omni’s left luggage service, but they kindly allowed us to check in very early - some 3 hours - which was a big help to our itinerary for exploring the city.
The hotel was quiet - we didn’t see many other guests - and the few staff we encountered when we passed through the lobby on our brief visit were friendly and polite.
The Omni Hotel was clean and comfortable and while the lobby and hallways seemed a little tired, the room was bright, modern and clean. The bed was ginormous and extremely comfortable!
Our only disappointment with this hotel was the absence of free WiFi. You could either pay or sign up to a membership scheme, which we tried, to no avail.

The hotel is close to local amenities, including trendy restaurants, bars, coffee shops, a liquor store, a CVS Pharmacy and more. It was within walking distance of a bus stop for the free shuttle which loops to Union Station. The New Haven Green and Yale University properties are only moments away.
We would recommend the Omni Hotel for anyone paying a visit to New Haven.
what to say - everything that could go wrong went wrong. Check-in time was incorrect on the automated confirmation email so room was not ready at the time stated. Check-in staff was rude. The bathroom tub did not drain properly, the faucet was broken, the heating did not work so the staff sent up a space heater for the entire stay. Restaurant service was slow and inattentive (did not offer coffee refills!).
I understand New Haven does not have a lot of great hotel options, but I felt that the omni really took advantage of its location and availability to take our business for granted.
If you are only going to have a portion of your staff, then you shouldn’t be charging pull price.
This was easily the worst Omni experience I’ve ever had.
