We are only a few metres walk from the seafront promenade, Kames Bay and Newton beaches and, of course the famous 'Crocodile Rock' where one can look out on the glorious panorama of the Firth of Clyde, the Ayrshire coast, and the majestic peaks of Arran. On a clear day the island of Ailsa Craig is visible on the horizon.

Detailed Reviews
Craigard is a great place to stay if you are planning a stint on Cumbrae longer than the daytrip that typifies nearly all visitors to the island. It's situated right on the seafront in Millport, with beautiful views and easy access to the beach.
We stayed for one night in July 2022. The hosts were friendly and welcoming, and our room was clean and comfortable. The beds afforded a good night's sleep, and there was an ample supply of tea, coffee and biscuits in the room.
The cooked Scottish breakfast was top rate, and I'd go back to Craigard just for that! There was an extensive selection of items, including haggis, square sausage, black pudding, bacon and tomato.
Despite my rating, there are some areas that need improvement. We discovered a short time after checking in there was no toilet paper or shower gel in our en-suite room. It proved impossible finding someone to give us these items, and in the end I had to take the spare roll of toilet paper from the shared toilet on the landing. Having the bathroom properly stocked is a pretty basic requirement, and on this occasion, the hosts fell short.
They also could have given some warning about their dog in the backyard. I put my bike there the evening we arrived; when I went through the gate to retrieve it the following morning, the dog appeared unexpectedly. ( A friendly dog, to be sure, but a heads up would have been nice.)
Overall, though, the issues mentioned above wouldn't put me off coming back. Craigard is a good choice if you're staying on Cumbrae, with friendly hosts, comfortable rooms, and a really good breakfast!

We stayed here for one night for a mini weekend break and we weren't disappointed. The room we had overlooked the garden and sea. The room itself was clean, spacious and very comfortable, the beds are to die for!
Cooked breakfast in the morning, cereal, yoghurts, everything was so fresh and tasty, dietary requirements catered for aswell.
The family that took over earlier this year are doing a fabulous job and were excellent hosts!
Many thanks and see you soon!

We booked a last minute stay to Millport and got a booking for a couple of rooms in The Craigard B&B. The owners were friendly and the rooms were lovely and clean with a comfortable bed and views over the sea. The breakfast was excellent with a wide choice of a full Scottish breakfast including haggis, really tasty and set you up for the day.

We really enjoyed our stay at Craigard, which is in a great location. It is just next to the beach and about half a mile to the end of the pier, so it's easy to walk or wheel along and explore all there is to offer along this beautiful stretch of the island.
Crawford & Janette made us very welcome and we enjoyed interesting conversations with them, including their recommendations of places to go/things to see. Straight away, it feels like you're visiting old friends.
Everything is clean and tidy, with all necessary measures taken in regard to COVID. The house and garden are well kept and attractive. Our accommodation was beautifully presented, very clean and comfortable with plenty storage.
Thank you. Happy family. We will be back.

We stayed at this b&b for a family wedding. The new owners were brilliant. They were attentive and nothing was a bother. Anything you needed was sorted. The rooms were clean and our room had a lovely sea view. The cooked breakfast was lovely and they catered so well for all dietary requirements. We will definitely be back and would recommend this to everyone.

We travelled to Millport for a wedding and had two nights in Craigard. It’s family run and has just recently been taken over. The family were lovely really attentive. I’m vegetarian and there was vegetarian sausage, bacon and haggis for breakfast. Really good breakfast for vegetarians and non vegetarians.
Room was very comfortable and spotlessly clean. Situation is ideal on the front and close to the centre of Millport.
Definitely recommend it.

I arrived early evening after needing to find a place to stay at very short notice and stayed from the 11th till the 13th March. Crawford and Janette couldn't have been more welcoming and immediately made me feel at home. The bed was very comfy and the room was quiet and absolutely spotless. Nice little touches like the shampoo and shower gel dispensers and bit of cake with tea tray were really appreciated as were the chats with this really lovely couple.
