We arrived on a very hot day and the owner let us onto our site at 10am instead of having to wait until the normal 2pm check-in time. We were able to get our airconditioner on and stayed relatively cool all day. This is a small park, good amenities, grassy drive thru sites, power/water/sullage next to your site. Large enough to take big rigs (we are 9m long). Reasonably priced at $40 per night for our site.

The park is small with drive through powered sites. The park also has a dozen or so cabins. The park itself is situated opposite the Mt Gambier intersection about 500 metres from the town of Heywood. Amenities were clean and showers huge but a lack of water pressure made showering difficult. Another problem we found, the park is on the main road and all night semi trailers and other vehicular traffic would wake you.

Stayed here for 2 nights on a powered site. Was a nice quiet park, 15 minute walk to town, reasonably clean amenities block with spacious showers with good water pressure. Drive thru caravan sites can be close together with your neighbours! Close to the speedway which is why we chose to stay here.

This is the worst accommodation we have ever stayed in. One of the beds was a thin foam mattress on a piece of chipboard, the toilet leaked, the floor was filthy, dead flies everywhere, the sofa bed was broken and there were cobwebs everywhere. There were ants and the provided home brand bug spray was empty. There were no basic provisions (generally we would expect coffee, tea, sugar, small milk), this was made worse by the local supermarket being closed when we arrived. We weren't expecting the Ritz for what we paid but we did expect something more than what we got. Worst $100 we've ever spent!!!!

On our trip across South Australia we came luckily to this campsite on New Year's Eve. Honestly it was the best campsite on our trip. We were very welcomed by the brother of the owner. He represents his brother while he is on vacation. A very nice guy who really take good care of everybody. We felt like we were really welcome here and not just a number. The campsite is not too big, which we think is better for everyone. There is enough room for every camper. The bathrooms are very clean and do have music! :-) There is even an extra bathroom for children. What a great idea!

My two children and I recently stayed in a cabin at the Pinewood Caravan Park. Knowing it is a small country caravan park, I was not expecting anything grand but what we got was a shock to say the least. I should have guessed what it would be like from the impression I got on entering the cluttered and dirty office space!! The most filthy, dirty, run down excuse for a cabin that I have ever seen that is not fit for accommodation and a joke for $100 a night. Every space in the entire cabin was filthy from the mold all through the bathroom to the bugs in the cupboards and the whole kitchen covered in grotty fat splatters. Every piece of furniture was well past its used by date, looking like a mix match of things that should have been retired 30 years ago. No safety rail on the top bunk meant I shared my bed with one of my kids. We did not cook or use a single piece of cutlery or crockery for fear of catching something and ended up going to the pub for tea and driving to Portland for food. A peaceful spot that would suit if you had your own van, but I hate to think what the ammenities looked like! I would give it a zero or a minus if I could. Save yourself heartache and keep driving to Portland.

Two Americans traveling by motorhome across Victoria, Australia on a windy, rainy night ended up at the Pinewood Caravan Park in Heywood, VIC. We were involved in minor accident passing through Heywood and we found the Pinewood Caravan Park. The proprietors opened up late for us and then the next morning worked to get us our vehicle repairs and back on our journey. If you are in the region and are thinking of passing through, stop in to the Pinewood Caravan Park and stay a minute...you will be glad you did.
