My wife and I recently stayed at Solaris with our 3 young children and had a truly incredible experience. We stay up in Vail a couple times a year and usually stay in the residences at The Lodge at Vail (which we still love). What attracted me to Solaris was the size of the residences and the pool/hot tub situation. We stayed in a 2 bed + den condo and it was around 1700 square feet. We had more than enough room and actually found sleeping spots for up to 10 people in our unit. It was impeccably furnished and felt very high end.
The reason we actually ended up booking was the pool and hot tub. A lot of properties in Vail have closed their hot tubs due to the current health restrictions. Outdoor pools in fall can be a bit chilly. Solaris has an indoor pool and hot tub and their current arrangement is to allow guests to book the whole facility to themselves for and hour at a time. My kids had a blast and it was so nice to have privacy as we spent time swimming and relaxing.
Lastly, I must call out the customer service. Every single interaction I had with a Solaris employee was exceptional. The front desk staff were warm, professional, and took the time to remember our names. They also heard we were celebrating my daughter's birthday and took the time to order a custom full-sized cake from a local bakery and sign a card. I couldn't have asked for a better experience. Big thanks to Clarissa and Cleo for making this a memorable experience. We will be staying at Solaris soon.

Check in was at 4pm, not a minute earlier. But once you arrive at your room, it is extremely comfortable and beautifully decorated. We had a nice gas stove and all the amenities needed for laundry and cooking. Our family was super comfortable in a two bedroom apartment and had enough room for all their toys.

The location is also the best in vail! you are seconds away from the village and all ice rink. We opted to stay on the non village side because we were worried about noise, however the other side (facing the highway) can be quiet noisy if you are a light sleeper.

The pool/gym area was also a nice touch, with updated workout machines and bikes.

We did have a little mishap with the concierge and our babysitter not showing up so we missed an excursion. The concierge desk was having trouble solving it, but the manager came in and handled it all swiftly to help make this feel like a five star vacation.

We will be returning. xThank you!

We have stayed at Solaris multiple times, as we are members of Inspirato. However, this was our first stay during ski season. As soon as you arrive, the valet will take your ski gear and have it transported to private lockers located across from Gondola One. While this isn't a ski-in ski-out property, it's a very easy walk on a heated path. The lockers provide complimentary snacks, soft drinks, a coffee machine, and even showers and boot/glove warmers.

The property is immaculate, and it's in a prime location. Our kids love walking downstairs for bowling at Bōl, and Yeti's Grind has excellent coffee and breakfast burritos. The actual residences are beautiful and very well taken care of. We had 4 bedrooms spread over about 2,800 square feet. If you're an Inspirato member, they have a separate Inspirato member lounge outside the main building.

Solaris also utilizes a Cadillac Escalade ESV and SRX for local transportation.

Super noisy building. The windows are not sealed
You can listen to the conversation on the hallways
The cleaning is included, but they don’t come at the time that you ask for it. They come at the time that they want or they don’t show.
The building is very crowded
The concierge don’t help at all and they don’t have information

We don’t think that we will return to this place!!!

Hello & thank you for taking the time to share your thoughts. We apologize that your stay did not meet expectations. We connected with our team to explore your comments & want to share that the windows throughout the building are double paned. They need to be locked properly in order to reduce noise and when the locking mechanism engages all the way, noise is very minimal. We do offer daily housekeeping and guests can request a specific service time in advance. Our Concierge team is available every day and they are pleased to assist guests with any & all requests. With restaurants reservations, we do need to know dining preferences as far in advance as possible as most restaurants open up availability a month out and can become booked solid within hours during peak season.

The Solaris Vail is right downtown so the location is absolutely 5 star. Due to the laundry list of line items that need improvement, I can only give the resort 3 stars. I would love to rate the overall experience higher as there are many pros, however, we won’t be booking again in the future with so many other high end options available with more affordable rates. We were in town pre-season to relax for the weekend so no skiing on this trip.

Loved:
- Location in downtown Vail is awesome.
- Proximity to great restaurants and movie theater right downstairs.
- Concierge pre-arrival service was great.
- Room layout and size was spacious.
- Heated floors and fireplace in residence worked well and kept the temps perfect.
- Privacy from other rooms was nice as well as the secure building access.

Needs Improvement:
- Line to front desk rang without answer most of the time we called.
- Master bath shower was uncomfortably small and poorly designed. We had to use the kids room bathroom that had a normal shower head and was an appropriate size.
- The actual kids room was so narrow the bathroom door hit the end of the small beds.
- Only decent size shower out of 3 bathrooms was in the kids room.
- No breakfast room service. This was a big disappointment and would have been nice to know in advance for groceries. Otherwise, only bowling alley food is available in the evening from downstairs to be brought to the room.
- No spa on site made the overall experience less desirable. We did get a great massage in one of the 2 treatment rooms, but there’s not any amenities or locker rooms to relax in.
- No outdoor hot tub onsite was a big let down. We were offered access to the local fitness club a few blocks away but never made the walk in the snow over there.
- TV in master bedroom only played music and was not connected to the cable so we couldn’t comfortably watch the Broncos game.
- Main room cable TV did work but the couch was so small, scratchy and worn out that it wasn’t comfortable for two adults to sit or lay on.
- No audio to play our own music on in the room.
- Most uncomfortable hotel bed I’ve ever experienced. An old lumpy mattress covered in an old lumpy topper made for
3 restless nights sleep. The pillows were all either overstuffed for decoration or totally flat. For the most expensive rate in Vail you would hope the bedding would be at least mildly updated. It was the biggest let down to leave with a stiff back and neck after a weekend of massages.

Favorite:
- Great dinners at Matsuhisa without having to even leave the building!

Overall you can’t go wrong in downtown Vail. The Solaris is nice for families but I wouldn’t go back there for another couples trip when so many other nearby resorts can provide the price justified luxury amenities.

After one night in unit 5c west at the Solaris, a two bedroom with a den, no one in my family was able to sleep. First the heat malfunctioned and the entire condo was 82 degrees. After two calls and an hour someone came and replaced a faulty valve. We finally went to bed where we were kept up the entire night by the sound of the highway just outside our windows. Literally trucks screaming by all night, On the bright side, the apartment is very nice, the kitchen big and very functional. The place seems very nice, but the noise of the trucks is literally unbearable. We live on a busy street in New York, but this is far worse. I called the desk and they will try to move us, but say it is unlikely that they will be able to. So for the amount of money, several thousand dollars a night, i would not stay here again unless i was on the mountain side of the property.

The Solaris Residences is truly a sight to behold. It is a modern gem set in Vail's faux Bavarian main village and is sure to delight discerning travellers for years to come. The bellman Joseph P. Kinney greeted me with a smile as I arrived on the drive and was there to provide many tidbits of useful information throughout our trip. The girls at the front desk were also a delight to be around! Professional and helpful, they were very knowledgable about the area and all of them were beautiful to boot! Also, when an unexpected lightbulb went out in the bathroom of our luxe penthouse, the engineers were there in a flash to remedy our menial problem. These gents were well-trained and exhibited a bedside manner akin to top physicians at the Mayo Clinic. A tip of the hat must also be given to the managers Bill, Jeff and Ligia. They went out of their respective ways to introduce themselves and offer that special touch that only fine hoteliers exhibit. Vail does not have a rival for Solaris. We're talking a Chateau Marmont/Waldorf Astoria caliber property here people! I will definately be choosing the Solaris Residences for any future visit to Vail. FIVE STARS!

This place is simply amazing. Upon arriving to our room and opening the door to our two bedroom penthouse I felt like I just stepped into a booking.com commercial, only I didn't you booking.com. The room was that great. We had a great view of the Vail Village and mountain beyond. Everything on their website is as advertised, so I won't go on and on about those things. However, I will say that the service exceeded my expectations. I had a very specific request that no other property in Vail could accommodate. The staff at Solaris said no problem and made it happen. I would like to give a very special thank you to Courtney, Elyse and Justin, you guys rock! As someone that has traveled all over the world, I would have to say that this is my favorite property from a location, quality and service standpoint. I'm already planning our return in two months.

My family and I recently arrived to Solaris Residences, in Vail, Colorado. As we were greeted with the upmost professionalism, I must say it was hard to focus as there was extreme commotion coming from the back office... which I am assuming is the management office? I have several children traveling with me and the curse words that were being thrown around were nothing less of inappropriate. I have to admit, that left a pretty sour first impression... On the up side, our residence is absolutely stunning, with breathtaking views of the mountain. The room is spacious and elegantly decorated. Another nice thing about the Solaris is the Personal Assistant progam that they have. At the time of booking, we were assigned a personal assistant that has made all of our arrangements from transportaion to dinner reservations. The ladies at the front desk all had welcoming smilies on their face, and assured us they would take care of absolutely anything, and the bellmen were very promt when delivering our luggage. So far everything else has been great, but I just cannot ignore the profanity that was coming from the back room. It was very unprofessional, especially considering there was a lobby full of guests at this time. I hope this reaches management, and that something is done about the poor behavior.

My friends and I had the privilege of staying at Solaris this February for the week leading into the President's Day weekend. Ligia, our personal assistant, is my new best friend and made sure everything was perfect during our whole stay. It's hard to express everything that makes Solaris wonderful, but here are a few thoughts -

We were travelling as a group and as such, they put us in Unit 6B, a four bedroom, 4.5 bath unit with a full kitchen and great room with a gas fireplace. It had sweeping views of the mountain over Vail Village and allowed us all to have what was basically a full hotel room while also having a fantastic gathering space to spend our time. The beds were amazingly comfortable and it was so tastefully decorated. We had friends staying in other places in town and we made them come to visit us for apres ski instead of leaving our luxurious unit!

A few hints if you're going - ask them to put a humidifier in your bedroom if you are not used to the altitude, it will really help and they will do it with pleasure. Also, they accept pets, which is awesome! If you like to cook, they will do the shopping in advance, so when you show up you will have all your favorite snacks and drinks, which allows you to save a bit on dining out and get right to relaxing. The kitchen is very well equipped with everything you need. And for the foodies, you must visit Matsuhisa, it's in the Solaris building - so no coats - and the black cod lettuce wraps are not to be missed.

The final best bit is the service from SkiHaus. At check-in, they will take your equipment and give you keys to a special Solaris locker at SkiHaus, which is the ski valet closest to Gondola 1 at the base of the mountain. This means no carrying equipment or walking through the village in ski boots. SkiHaus has a sweet staff that will dry your boots each day and provide little extras like cookies and hot chocolate in a very nice locker room.

Overall, I can't think of a better home base than Solaris for a vacation in Vail!

Hi Olga G, Thanks for your interest in Solaris. We'd love to have you as a guest this winter. Solaris is the center of Vail village, and a very short walk from Vail's Vista Bahn chair. Additionally, if you'd like to skip the brief walk, our team can drop you and your party at the base of the Vista Bahn or Lionshead in our luxury complimentary courtesy vehicle - and pick you up - any time! We also offer ski lockers at the base of the mountain, or can pick up your skis and deliver them to Solaris, should you wish to enjoy some après ski after the slopes without worrying about them!
