Our family has been visiting the Glenwood area every year for 20 years and we finally found the perfect spot! RRR is the place where memories happen and families connect! The facilities are top notch, the location and view is spectacular and the owner is on hand to ensure the best experience possible! Whether you are planning some rest and down time or looking for fun at the hot springs pool, you will have everything you need here! When we visit each year hereafter, we will look no further! RRR is our new home away from home!

We stayed in Cabin A, brought our own drinking water, and had a wonderful time. The cabin faces the Colorado River, which was running too fast and high to do any fishing, but there are stocked ponds and a smaller stream diverted from the Colorado where we were able to fish. It's a quick 15 minute drive to Glenwood. The kitchen was well equipped, but we used the gas grill and the fire pit and the picnic table for out eating enjoyment. Brett, the property manager, provided us with information about local dining and sightseeing and was very accommodating to our requests. We will be back!

We had a great time and the water was fine although we are not used to heavily chlorinated city water.... Cabin was spotless, staff was wonderful, and cost was very affordable compared to surrounding properties. If you want a sterile room go to a chain.

Stayed in one of the cabins in October 2013 for 4 nights. Cabin itself was okay, but the TV was hung too high, over the window and there were dead flies laying around, even after a last minute cleaning by the owner. After initial check in, I never saw the owner/mgr again, even when checking out which was odd.
The area surrounding the cabin was a disappointment (cluttered and a little run down looking)
given the price we paid. There is practically nothing close by other than fishing, so anything else you may want to do (restaurants, shopping, sightsee, hiking, etc.) is all going to require a 15 mile hike back down the interstate which got old. Unless all you want to do is fish, I would definitely recommend looking somewhere else, especially for the cost. In hindsight, we discovered there are better places, closer in, so do your homework.

Response from TurtleTracksRR, Owner at Turtle Tracks Riverfront Resort, LLC
Responded 11 Feb 2014
Ruby River is under new ownership as of 2/5/14.. While we cant change the fact that there is a bit of a travel to Glenwood, there are travels to most destinations anywhere you stay. I will say that we are changing things around there and it will be even better than it is now!!! We are working hard and will do a grand re-opening in the spring introducing our luxury teepees, and additional pond!!! We hope you will give us a try again sometime!! Our new name is Turtle Tracks Riverfront Resort!

Beautiful luxury state of the art log cabin 20 feet from the Colorado River. This fork starts about 1 mile off the main river and gives you both a gentle riffle area and a deeper canal that has the largest Rainbows & Brown trout I have ever seen or caught!
Check out my pics and videos. The cabin is spotless, comfortable loft bed (high ceiling) with a second bedroom on main floor. Large flat screen direct tv (NFL channel),
high end kitchen and furnishings. 3 cabins, quiet, private & peaceful. Owners Thom & Camille are near by if needed, warm & friendly. I love this place!!

We rented a cabin for Thanksgiving and had a nice family holiday. We were impressed with the quality of the furnishings in the cabin. The kitchen was well equipped. The chandelier is a work of art. The large screen TV had a good selection of channels, but we would have preferred that it not be so high up on the wall. The bedroom and loft bed were comfortable. The bathroom was spacious and clean, but the water had a strong odor of sulphur. We were glad that we brought six gallons of drinking water as the tap water also had an odor. We liked hiking along the river. A highlight of our stay was sitting outside at night by the outdoor fire pit and watching the sun set behind the mountains. This was a good base of operations as we drove around the area and hiked in the nearby hills and mountains. It was a short drive into Glenwood Springs. Except for the water issue, we would give our highest rating to this relaxing resort.

We had a great visit to Ruby Ranch and everyone had a chance to unwind, have family time and enjoy Mother Nature. We saw wild horses, deer, frogs, snakes, some fish, dogs and people too. Grandkids enjoyed just running free and making new friends.

Thom the owner is great! A last minute stay and he had the place ready to go and accommodated our family with five children.
A full kitchen complete with laundry was awesome!!!
The Colorado river right out your back door perfect was for wading and renting the peddle boat!
If you want to relax in a home away from home with plenty of attractions within short drives this is the place!!
If you're lucky you will get to hear Thom perform- he is a great singer!
We will be back again and again...our kids want to enjoy the bonfires and s'mores again soon!
Thanks Thom!!

Me and my wife were looking for a romantic getaway to celebrate our first university, when we stumbled upon ruby of the river through a friend, out of 10 other choices, we weren't so sure since we know that pictures can be very different from reality. but we decided to pick it since our first impression of the owner, Camille, and the manner in which she dealt with our on-the-spot-booking and delays was a great one. so we flew to the states and arrived at the cabin. i should say that the place, the owners, and everything in between makes it the PERFECT spot for a vacation, a getaway from the city, and a place to make a never-fading romantic memories in. the location of the estate is perfect, so is the privacy given to each cabin, and did i mention the owners? they're lovely in every way. I should also mention that I am from kuwait and I've been to a lot of countries and a lot of getaways, this one is definitely one of my top five. we stayed there for a month, and everything was just perfect. we loved it so that when we left, we were both very sad, as if we said goodbye to a second home.

Although the pictures looked good on the website, it didn’t do it justice! Ruby River Ranch was one of the best places we have ever visited.

The log cabins are more like log homes and felt that way. The best was the Colorado river right out the door! Fishing was good and we didn’t need a fishing license as guests! The kids caught 6 fish out of the stocked pond.

We laughed and talked around the firepit late in the night, which we hadn’t done in so long time. We will definitely be back.

Back.
