Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Even though this property calls itself Glenwood Springs West it is about 20 miles past Glenwood Springs. It is easy access right off I-70. We had a site along the row closest to the interstate and there was quite a bit of road noise during the night. There are lots of little trees but not much shade and it was very windy. The people who work here are very nice! It was our first night out with a rental RV and the check in staff was very helpful and another staff member walked us through setting up our waste hose and gave us tips when it came time to dump it. I would actually give this property 3 stars but the staff bumped it up to 4.

The campground was maintained very wel. The grounds staff very nice .. The reason for 3 stars is the office would not assign us a different site we requested. They told us the river front sites are reserved 1 year in advance and you need to have more than 2 nights booked.. they lied there were sites empty during our stay and we booked for 3 nights. Our site was up against the truck stop.

This is a newer Campground, and a work in progress we were warmly greeted and escorted to our site. It is a good sized park (75 +/- sites) with gravel spots off gravel roads. The mostly level sites have convenient hookups that functioned properly. The included WiFi was terrific - always providing a signal that was useful, the cable TV was good, and the Verizon cell service was strong. They offer a pool, a splash pad, and a playground - all good and with the current Covid thing, you need to sign up for the pool (social distancing) for 1.5 hour slots.

This is not an inexpensive place to stay (consistent with most KOAs). I find it curious that a campground chain that bills itself as a family destination now defines a family as two adults. Time was a family was defined as two adults, and up to three children. We were traveling with two grandchildren, and they charged extra for both. This is a sometimes event for us, but a young family could feel beat up on their vacation.

If I could give them less than one star, I would. We have a campervan, and we booked a 3 night stay in a site that was listed as electricity only. However, that also meant you had absolutely no access to potable drinking water at a community faucet nearby. The closest access to potable water in order to fill your water bottles was the main office that was at least two tenths of a mile away. I went to the office and complained and the attendants behind the counter named Stacy and Kim became extremely rude and condescending. That stated that I should have read the website when I booked with them. They also refused to let me speak to a manager. Easy access to potable drinking water in 80-degree temperatures is a basic human necessity which this KOA refuses to supply to paying guests. I am posting this to warn other unsuspecting guests that the $40.00 per night sites do not come with easy access to potable drinking water. Also, they refused to refund our money and we had to put a stop payment on our credit card.

The campground is great. Nice, clean, pool was nice. Had problems with the staff twice. After driving many hours. We checked in and I needed to use the restroom before we set up camp. The cleaning lady told me the floor was being mopped in the bathroom. I asked if it was still able to be used and she ignored me. Later that evening my family went to the pool swimming. We dried off well and had sit in the sun for awhile. We wanted to go in the store at the office. It was still open for about 45 more minutes. Another lady stopped us at the door and said the floor was just washed. If we wanted to come in we would have to use the other door away from the store. I’m glad they want to keep the office clean but they lost our business and future recommendations.

We love coming here... but it seems that this Memorial Day weekend it was more important to the owners to continue with ongoing construction projects as opposed insuring the paying guests enjoyed a relaxing Saturday morning. 8am the nail guns, hammers and saws were our alarm clock. Not cool...and pretty selfish of the KOA. So much for an outdoor breakfast.

The campground itself is clean, well laid out, full of amenities (first KOA with a kids' water/sprinkler area I've ever been to), and very easy to get to off of the interstate. But, that is one of the issues. The interstate noise is constant (I-70 through central CO is never quiet!). If you score one of the few river sites the sound might be drowned out somewhat. Also, the reviews which clarify that this is not at all near Glenwood Springs are right on the money.
The biggest issue with this campground is a concern I had with a large flagpole attached to a trailer. Up top was an American flag - no problem with that, it kind of lent an "All American" atmosphere. Sadly, the flag below it destroyed that impression. It was a "Trump 2020" banner as big as the nation's flag. I find it offensive to have to see a campaign banner anytime I look to the west (it was 2 sites to our west, and a good 15/18 feet up). I went to the office with my concern and the young lady behind the counter said "Yes, we know. We asked the owner of the KOA campground about it and he said he believed in 'free speech' and it was okay with him, unless it 'started a riot'". I told her that was a terrible answer. I don't believe she really cared at all about my concern. I won't stay here again.

We had a fantastic stay at the Glenwood Spring West / Colorado River KOA! The campground is beautiful, the staff friendly and professional. Everything is spotlessly clean and very well maintained. The sites are spacious and the patios/pergolas/patio furniture are nice touches! The kids enjoyed the pool and splash pad and the adults enjoyed quiet mornings and evenings at the fire pits by the river. We hope to return soon!

Great location. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Very clean facilities. The deluxe riverside sites are well worth the few extra dollars. Only complaint was WiFi , very slow, however this is typical for most RV resorts we have stayed in. Overall this is one of the best KOAs we have stayed in.

Honestly I am very surprised to find such an amazing Rv Park right off I-70. Everything from the easy checking in and escort to our spacious full hookups pull through site right off the river was surprising. The sites are are long and wide apart, with tables n chairs and in ground fire pits. The grounds are clean and amazing with a walking trail across the river to a small island, kids play area and many other amenities.
