Front Desk clerk was sleeping in back room most of the time and back security door was propped open with people smoking and drinking outside. Room was clean but service lacked. Ice machine broken and no breakfast of any kind.

Clean room, newer fixtures in the bathroom, and new towels. Convenient to Interstate and good place to stay when you just need a place to sleep for a night or two. The continental breakfast was just that: cereal, bagels, bread, some packaged pastries, granola bars, bananas, and of course coffee and juice but that was enough. It was a small seating area but there are some nice leather couches to eat at if needed.
There is no blow dryer in the bathroom but you can borrow one. Check-in was easy and the receptionist very nice and informative. However, we were present when someone else was trying to check-in after hours. He kept ringing the outside buzzer and I assume someone finally showed up, we didn't hang around. All we needed to do is leave our room key card either in the room or at the check-in desk and we were off and running.

Booked 2 nights here on Priceline. Stayed the first night. Came back in after working all day & someone was sleeping in my room. At the desk the manager told me he had no rooms to give me. Had left my food, drinks & toiletries in room...thrown out. 4 people behind me had reservations but no rooms for them either. Had a lot of negative things to say about online travel websites. No remorse. No offer to send me to a hotel next door. Didn't care I had to sleep in my car. No shower. Breakfast in the am was coffee and frozen pastries. Definitely bypass this hotel in Rifle.

Ronda (mgr) was great. Gave us a room (upgraded) although she will have to fight Priceline to get paid. We booked and paid online but it wasn't sent through to the hotel. We called Priceline but they were unable to resolve it. Suggested I pay again and then send them the invoice for refund. Apparently this happens a lot. The experience taught us to always book directly with the hotel. Esp a small business like this one. Checking in was very inconvenient for us but it's also super unfair to the business.

We arrived late at night after a long day of driving. All we wanted was a bed to go to sleep in and a shower in the morning before we hit the road, didn't need anything fancy. Initially the front desk employee said there was only a single queen room which would not work for us so we decided to leave. As we started out he said he could give us a room with two beds so we returned to the counter and completed the booking.
When we returned from the parking lot with our bags, the front desk employee said he had a different room downstairs so he gave us keys for those instead. When we got to the room it had obviously not been cleaned yet. Beds had been slept in, trash was visible. We went back to the desk and were given keys to the original room.
As we walked up to the room I could already tell we might have problems. The stairs were stained and dirty and did not appear to have been vacuumed in quite awhile. Walking down the hallway it was obvious the floors hadn't been mopped in awhile either.
We entered the room and it was nothing special, but it had two beds and a shower. I could see the floor had not been swept or mopped and looked dirty. The bathroom was dirty, urine and hairs around the base of the toilet, bathtub looked iffy but might have been stains. Hairs on the sink. There were numerous dead bugs on the window sill
My wife and I were disgusted and debated leaving, but it was after 11:00 p.m. At that point and we were very tired, it had been a long day. We knew the hotel didn't have any other rooms with two beds. We didn't want to go through checking out and driving somewhere else and hoping they had a room. So we inspected the bedsheets to be sure they at least looked clean and they seemed fine so we decided to live with it for the night. After all, we were going to sleep, wake up, shower and leave.
We ONLY stayed the night due to our exhaustion, and knowledge that there were no other rooms of the same type to move to. The room was completely unacceptable in any other circumstances. I have stayed in a lot of hotels in my life, and this was by far the worst. The property was far below the minimum standards a guest would expect.
The property owners should be embarrassed that a room was presented to guests in that condition. They should be ashamed that their common areas were so dirty. But it's obvious based on many other reviews here that they just flat do not care or these issues would be addressed. The evidently don't care at all about their guests.
Rodeway Inn and Choice Hotels should be mortified that their franchisee or manager is representing their business name and reputation in that manner.
Seriously, go ANYWHERE else, you don't want to stay here.

Do not stay here! This is one of the worst hotels we’ve stayed at. False advertisement, their pictures on line look nothing like their establishment. We had issues from the beginning of our stay. We booked through hotels.com and due to weather and illness we had to reschedule our initial booking date. Hotels.com contacted the hotel and they agreed to allow us to rebook, no fees or extra charges. We arrived at our new check in date and attempted to check in, they couldn’t find our reservation and instructed us to contact hotel.com. After calling and they spoke to them they magically found our reservation but said we no showed charging us 2 nights. They finally agreed to “refund” 1 night with hotels.com refunding the other night. But… their refund was not money back we could stay 1 night for “free”…yet they already charged our card! Upon check in room floor provided was dirty. Could not locate Wi-Fi password anywhere in the room had to call font desk. Looked for water in the lobby fridge for guests, was empty and no staff at front desk. Called and spoke with Tamika she said water/ice was on the 2nd floor but stated we didn’t want to go up there because it was scary, offered to bring warm water bottles to our room. The following morning at breakfast we noticed our name on their do NOT book guests list. When checking out we asked why and we were informed we “bothered” Tamika all evening by calling the front desk. We literally called twice! Will not refer or stay here again!!!

This hotel is absolutely awful!! To start with, I tried to cancel my reservation less than 24 hours after I made it I was told I could cancel my reservation, but the hotel would not refund my money. This in turn forced me to change my travel plans instead of eating the cost of the hotel room. They have an ashtray just outside the office door, so as you walk in to get your room all you smell is cigarettes. Check in was simple, but when I got to my room it felt like I was in a third world country. The room was dirty and when I went to put some water in the refrigerator I found a cleaning rag inside. The coffee pot was half full of cold coffee and the outlets near the coffee pot didn't work. After dinner when I went to my room I pulled back the blanket on the bed and saw that the sheets were dirty! They didn't change the sheets from the previous guest! The pillows were nothing more than a pillowcase full of chunks of foam. Not to mention the hallway smelled like pot all night. I slept on top of the blankets. No screens on the windows and the hotel itself looks like crap when you see it in person. And, their tv's are junk! Most of the programming is in spanish, so you're selection is limited. I highly recommend any hotel other than this hotel!! I will sleep in my truck before I stay in this hotel again

The Rodeway inn was gross. The staff was horrendous on check-in and seemed to be selling drugs to some of the very concerning sketchy guests who were all hanging out in the lobby yelling and drinking. The rates should be even lower for a motel of this standard. The bed wasn't clean or comfortable, shower was filled with hair and grime, and the motel smelled like garbage. I would not recommend this to anyone.

This rundown trap house should be closed for health violations and criminal activity. Firstly, they refuse to check me out when I’m not even on property and refuse a refund when I had the option for one. You’re better off sleeping in your car.

Due to your review, I did visit the property and look into your complaints. I did see that you booked your reservation through a 3rd party and it was a no cancel, non refundable reservation. After viewing the footage, you did state you had a family emergency and needed to leave, when the staff informed you that they could not give you a refund for the remainder of your stay you were not happy. We apologize the reservation you made was non refundable and you felt the need to write a bad review over it.

Oh boy, where to start? We do a lot of road trips and have stayed in lots of hotels/motels. This is by far the worst. After a long day of driving, we arrived around 10:30pm. We were tired, and just wanted a place for one night. First they tried to put us in a room that had not been cleaned at all, the beds were not even made. Then they gave us another room. It was disgusting. Dead bugs on the window sill, on top of the heater, on the dresser. Urine and hair around the base of the toilet, hair in the tub, on the sink, and on the floor. The floor obviously had not been mopped in a long time. The towels were stained. It was late so we stayed, as they had no more rooms available and we didn't want to go looking for another place so late at night. Even the stairs were filthy and stained. We should have turned back then.
The next morning, early, we talked to the manager and asked for a refund. He refused, since we had stayed the night. I explained the above. He didn't care. I have never done a charge back on a place ever. But I refuse to pay for such a nasty place. We left early, because we both had trouble sleeping, due to the state of the room. It was just ick.
Trust me, don't stay here. If we don't get our money back, I hope they lose way more business from people who are smart enough to run after reading this review. Pics attached for your viewing pleasure.
