The owner/general manager and the staff at the Rifle La Quinta are among the nicest I've encountered at any hotel. They clearly take pride in their hotel and their service. The rooms are larger and nicer than many comparably priced hotels, and they allow pets for a reasonable fee. We visited here for two weekends in the fall of 2022 and now we will return to this hotel yearly in the spring and fall for the foreseeable future.

The staff here were especially lovely--welcoming and helpful and just all around great! The hotel was quiet and clean and perfectly adequate. We stayed here on an overnight while traveling from RMNP to Dinosaur National Monument (after a brief detour to Copper Mt.) and we could not be happier with our decision.

Heads up about the pet policy. The online pet policy indicates the fee is per night, not per pet. However, the front desk said that it was per pet per night. So “pet friendly” really just means “pet tolerant” and it gets very expensive very fast if you have more than one. There were other, cheaper options in the area.

Thank you for bringing this to our attention. Our pet fee is indeed per night, not per pet, and I apologize for any misunderstanding you encountered. If you’d be open to providing the name of the staff member or the time of your interaction, it would greatly assist us in addressing this directly with the team and ensuring all information is communicated accurately. We truly appreciate your feedback and hope to provide a seamless stay on your next visit. Safe travels!

This is my second stay at la quinta by Wyndham in 2 weeks. I drive a semi truck out of Denver, CO my company pays for a hotel for the night. My usual preferred stay is in Grand Junction, CO due to water line repair I'm not able to park a truck and trailer there at this time. My first visit last week 8/8/2024 the first problem starts with making a reservation via phone 15 minutes later after having them try to sell me on there time share and rewards program what a pain also barley able hear them and some are very hard to understand. Second point once in the room on a phone call with corporate sat down at the desk to find the office/desk chair was broken leaned to one side unusable. 3 The air conditioner system was blowing slightly warm musty air. It was at this point I had just had enough laid down to find the bed was overly soft almost lumpy. I understand the concept here it's a hotel room however it says Wyndham and $216.00 after taxes you would hope for better. Second week new room same issues with calling to make reservation just let me call the front counter person not a call center in who know where but it's not in America just a guess. Head to room to find a king bed with a divit on one side maybe flip the thing I don't know, ac working and desk chair not broken. I did find water damage under the window above the ac unit. Water damage in the bathroom behind the door guessing they can't swing the door to check back there once a year or something. I'm not paying for the room but this $200+ after tax is ridiculous for the quality of the room. I didn't try the watered down eggs or anything from breakfast for that matter. If you have no other choice whatever stay here just be prepared to be disappointed. Highway robbery by Wyndham.

I booked a suite at a higher rate for my grandparents, who would appreciate the additional room. When I arrived, I asked if a room was available on the ground floor, as they had mobility limits. The apparent manager/owner (black leather jacket) said he had a handicapped room, but it would be an extra charge (of about $50). I declined, and he offered a “normal king.” I accepted this, expecting it to be the room class I booked rather than the handicapped room.
Apparently what he did was move me into a standard king room. However, he still charged me the suite price. When I returned to the front desk to inquire, he said that he was actually giving me a discount since booking a room right at that moment would be more costly.
In other words, he was viewing a request for a ground floor room as making a new reservation at the current prices, rather than just requesting a preferred floor at check-in. I don’t view this as acceptable. He should have been clear that I was giving up the suite in favor of a standard room, and charged me the standard price. He should not have moved them into a standard room at the suite price.
He viewed my request as an upsell opportunity, and not the chance to please a customer. I would not recommend this hotel.

Hello Mr. Joshua White, Apologies that you feel this way, however, we were only trying to accommodate your request to be on the ground floor. Unfortunately, there were no suites available on the ground floor apart from the handicap room which was also taken when I tried to move. The night of your reservation Jan27th, 2023 due to nearby Aspen X Games we were almost full and finally sold out of all 113 rooms 100% occupancy. Your original King Suite room was at a discounted rate and the only one available was on third floor assigned by front desk. I was going to move them to upgraded Handicap King Suite on ground floor but it was already sold out online. I still moved them to a nice ground floor Standard King room available very close to the lobby keeping the same rate to help your grandparents in the nearest available ground floor room for their convenience but you chose to go back to the originally reserved King Suite on the third floor at a long walking distance. That is why we availed you the standard king on the ground floor instead of your originally booked suite which was on the third floor and would have been a long walking distance. For future reference, it would be best to call the hotel directly to book a room if desired on a specific floor it is much easier for us to accommodate in advance as opposed to the same day of on a nearly sold-out night during the X games in Aspen. We appreciate your business. Thank you! Sincerely, Mike GM

The customer service at this hotel was terrible!! During our stay, we ordered Pizza and Salad from a local pizza restaurant, around 7pm in the evening. The restaurant forgot to include forks with our salad. When we realized this, I went to the front desk and asked the young woman working, if I could please have 4 plastic forks. Since the hotel states they provide a "deluxe continental breakfast" I figured there would be no problem getting a few plastic forks.
However, the young woman working the desk proceeded to tell me that they did not have forks, only one spoon and the rest knives. She the proceeded to tell me that I would have to go over to Culvers, a fast food restaurant in the next block, and ask if they have any forks. So at 7pm, with temperatures in the low teens, I had to leave the hotel, and go to a near by fast food restaurant to ask for 4 plastic forks so we could have our dinner. How does a hotel who advertises that they serves a "Deluxe Continental Breakfast" not have forks anywhere in the hotel??
The next morning, when we went to breakfast, I was SHOCKED to see that there were large containers FULL of plastic forks, spoons and knives, yet I was forced to leave the hotel the night before and ask for 4 plastic forks from a nearby fast food restaurant. I was livid- the lack of customer service shown for this simple request was absolutely unacceptable and unprofessional. Especially after seeing that there were clearly forks IN the hotel the night before. The hotel clearly had forks available with the breakfast supplies, but I was told I would have to leave the hotel to find some. This was absolutely terrible customer service- I honestly think this is the worst I have ever experienced. I would not recommend this hotel.

Paid 140 for a room for tonight, Got beds full of "hair and seman" like splatter! Was given 2 flat sheets to change out my just checked into room then told my kids and I could change rooms. I was giving another room with unsanitary bedding. When I called to the front desk I was told the manager would be up to " check the bedding. I waited a whole before calling back down to the front desk to be told the manager was not coming up and that I was "TOO PICKY of a customer & to leave the hotel" Future customers all I can say is I can't be the only one.. check your bedding and hold the manager and his employees accountable. Hoping they do better for future paying customers. My kids and i's experience was a 1 out of 10

The room was clean, the bed felt like I was sleeping on plywood, and the pillows were flat. Got to breakfast at 8:45. The pancake maker was not working, and only enough batter for about 2/3 of a waffle. When I asked about eggs, hashbrowns, sausage, and butter, I was informed that breakfast was over and no more coffee. There were other people in line to get waffles. Breakfast was supposed to be till 9:00. When we were leaving, the staff were walking out of the kitchen with plates of hot eggs, hashbrowns, and sausage. This is totally disrespectful to paying guests and unacceptable!

I rented a room for my daughter, sent the hotel a credit card authorization form per their request for the cost of the room. They ended up charging my daughters credit card anyway. I called and spoke with Mike (general manager) to have them fix their mistake. He agreed to charge my card and reimburse hers but complained that he would have to eat the 3% credit card fee (not my problem). When I looked at the invoice the hotel sent me the priced charged was approximately 10% more than the price on my Wyndham reservation. When I called to see why, I was told that is just how it was, they don't honor the price from the Wyndham site. To add insult to injury my daughter said the room was very noisy, see barely got any sleep.

Wonderful customer service. But our room was very disgusting. Hair everywhere!! Human and animal. Handprints on tables/ bed frame and base board. Felt so nasty. Not only that, but we slept here for 1 night and it gave me a rash on my hand and bite marks behind my leg and on my toe. When I told the front desk he assured me they do their best with cleaning and are hard working. While I don’t deny that. We should be able to stay at a 4 star hotel and not come home with rashes and bite marks from bugs. I wasn’t going to post a review until we discovered the bites, really hope our dogs didn’t bring any bugs home. We also got bit on the leg, foot, toe, and thigh.

This is one good thing about La Quinta's. They do not charge extra for pet's. When we have had dogs over the
years, we always stayed at La Quinta's. They are very pet friendly, and I have seen many "large" dogs there too.
There are more places to choose from in the Rifle area.
