Detailed Reviews
We spent one night at JC Suites before climbing Grays Peak the next morning. The rooms were recently remodeled and very comfortable. JC Suites is on the main road through Idaho Springs and was within walking distance to restaurants and shopping. Front desk personnel were very friendly and answered all of our questions. We will stay here again if we are in the area.

This was a great experience, on a long cross country trip. The hotel exceeded my expectations. The room had been recently renovated, and done thoughtfully and quite well. It was comfortable and large. Our dog was welcome for a modest pet fee. The people working here were very kind and reached out to give us an entry code when we were on the road a bit late, so that we could walk right into our room when we arrived. Parking right in front of the stairs made getting all our stuff up to the room easy. And there is a little bridge just across the street, leading to a quiet, low-traffic flat road good for dog walking and a morning run. Finding a nice (!) place to stay with a 55 lb dog isn’t always easy, and this was one of the rare places that made it easy for us.

Stayed here with a group of 4 friends the week before New Years, and we were very happy with our stay. We were in suite 4 which had a living room and a queen bed, with a separate bedroom. Our group really appreciated all the space as we had quite a bit of luggage given we were visiting as part of a ski road trip. The ample space in the bathroom was really appreciated as we were traveling with 3 women and 1 guy. The beds were super comfortable, everything was clean, and there was a Starbucks and McDonalds just a few feet away. The town is small, so you can also walk about a mile to the grocery store or other restaurants.
The communication from the management was great, check in was a breeze as we arrived late and they provided us with a code for the door, and they provided lots of coffee and tea in the room. The fridge was a bit small, and a light in the hallway would have been helpful, but otherwise this was a really great stay.

If you are looking for a basic room only, this is the place. The room appeared to have been upgraded recently and was clean. However, there were no frills.
There is no place to leave your luggage if you arrive before check in or want to stay in Idaho Springs for a bit after checkout. There is no lobby, no vending, no one onsite who can help with any issues. The Samsung smart TV had Samsung TV and the ability to sign into your own Netflix, etc. However, the signal was so weak, watching tv was pretty much constant buffering.
The location was right across the street from Kodi whitewater rafting so the location was great to walk across the street and leave your valuables in the room while you raft. It was also walking distance to the Argo Mill. Smoking Yards is a BBQ place across the street which was amazing and we enjoyed breakfast at Marion’s of the Rockies. However, it was a little walk to the “downtown” where the touristy shopping area is.
We also had trouble getting rideshares in Idaho Springs, so I don’t recommend visiting without your own transportation or without arranging something ahead of time.

We had a late arrival but owner told us ahead of time exactly what to do. Rooms were amazing, the hotel was just remodeled, so its amenities are great. It was clean, organized, the bed were very warm and comfy, he has his own laundry place, doesn't provide breakfast. We had to switch rooms due to systems error, which let me know in a timely manner, it worked just fine, they move your stuff for you, you just pack it. I was very pleased with everything about the hotel. Thank you Dennis!

you might pass this motel by but take a second look. The room are all upgraded and very nice. bathroom is as good as or better than any marriott or hilton. living area is comfy and you have a fridge and microwave. plenty of coffee with full coffee maker along with variety of teas and hot cocoa. Owner is very accommodating. curtains are blackout curtains. fan and AC is also provided. This is on the east end of town so it is relatively quiet. Also across from a good BBQ place.

We were hesitant on first look but our ground-floor room was spacious and clean. This is part of a complex with a laundromat but we had no issues, the laundromat closed at 8 p.m. We had a seating area, two queen beds and a spacious bathroom with shower/tub. We could park right outside our door. There's a car wash across the street and a decent BBQ place within walking distance.

Clean and comfy. Shampoo and conditioner provided left my hair silky smooth. I would definitely stay here again. The surrounding town is run down but I’ve stayed in the area 2 times and never felt more safe and who can complain about waking up to a Mountain View.

Good place to stay for events in the area; was quiet, bed/pillows were good, room clean. They're in middle of upgrading as of this writing in Aug. 2021 so there will likely be some little tweaks that make it a bit better. Keyless door took some getting used to (liked person I was with but did not like me -- ;) Nice to have had the contactless option for check-in/out. Thanks.

We stayed in Suite 4.
The room was plenty big. Everything looked new, except the doors, which I suspect are original. My wife loved the service. She reserved the wrong night, and the immediate answer was that they would correct it. No hassle at all.
There was a bit of traffic noise from the nearby highway, but nothing too serious.
I only had two concerns, both safety related. First, the exterior stairs are a bit steep. They have handrails and seem secure, but I was concerned watching my wife descend them. Second, the doors have nice, new digital deadbolts, but 1) the deadbolt doesn’t automatically lock when you close the door so it is very easy to leave the door completely unsecured and 2) there is only a flimsy chain to secure the door, in the event someone gets hold of the combination to the deadbolt. The area doesn’t seem especially unsafe, but stuff happens.
