As someone who travels frequently and often relies on reviews to make my final decision on a place to stay - without hesitation, I cannot recommend the Hotel Maverick enough. The whole hotel is spotless - so the housekeeping crew is doing an amazing job - and the front desk receptionist couldn't have been any nicer or more welcoming. I didn't get a chance to try the restaurant, but the cafe on the first floor was delicious. The room accommodations were extremely comfortable and well-appointed. I also really appreciated the thoughtfulness of how they accommodated my dog as well - leaving food dishes in the room and a cozy bed which he laid on immediately. :) I loved the gift they left of the very cute dog bandana, and when you first get to the room, they've left a treat of homemade fudge - which was a delicious surprise. I had such a great experience, and will absolutely stay again, if my travels ever take me back to Grand Junction.

The Hotel Maverick is the only boutique hotel in Grand Junction. It's modern, upscale interiors are only outdone by the incredible views from the rooftop bar and restaurant. The rooms are small, but laid out in a way that makes moving around very comfortable. The finishes are high-quality with a "schoolhouse" vibe that includes dark fixtures, beautiful tile and vintage black and white photos from the Colorado Mesa University archives. The hotel is located on campus and is surrounded by sports fields, dorms and classroom buildings. It also includes some great amenities like Peloton bikes in the hotel gym and rental cruisers to get around town. The hotel's location is 10 minutes from the airport and 5 minutes from downtown Grand Junction which is full of great restaurants and shopping and the state's largest outdoor sculpture collection. The rooftop restaurant and bar, called Devil's Kitchen, boasts incredible views of the Grand Valley. The Bison Tamale and Lobster and Waffle dinners were very good. Being brand new, there were a few kinks to work out, but overall I had a great experience and was treated very well by the staff.

Wow: a total gem! It must not be well known since it opened in June 2020, so we were able to book a last minute room on Memorial Day weekend. But it turned out to be one of the best hotels we have stayed at in years.

Very modern furnishings, large rooms, one whole building has panorama views of the mountain range. Nice toiletries, mini fridge, large outdoor jacuzzi. Check in staff very friendly and efficient.

Top tier but reasonably priced restaurant The Devils Kitchen on the 4th floor, down the hallway from our room (but separated by double doors so no noise spillover to the guest rooms), has a great farm to table menu—including amazing deviled eggs (see photo), steaks and salads.

Will definitely stay here for when we are in Grand Junction.

We were extremely impressed with the location, rooms, cleanliness, staff and the dining/coffee options. We brought our two dogs and we greeted with Colorado gourmet dog cookies and there were two plush dog beds and a water/food bowls in the room when we arrived. Devil's Kitchen had delicious cocktails and food. Highly recommend the Blood Orange Margarita and the Buffalo Pork Rinds and steamed artichokes were to die for. Brunch was also delicious and you can't beat the views from the patio. Staff was super friendly and informative.

My husband and I had a wonderful stay here! The hotel is absolutely beautiful and the staff are extremely courteous.

We stayed here for 3 nights while visiting Colorado National Monument and Black Canyon of the Gunnison National Park. The Hotel Maverick is located on the CMU campus. The area is safe and quiet with lots of parking. The hotel itself is clean and modern in decor. They have a cute little cafe on the first floor if you're wanting a quick breakfast and coffee on the go. They also have a nice upscale restaurant/bar, Devil's Kitchen, located on the top floor. Some nice perks of the hotel include free parking, free wifi that was fast, and complimentary coffee at their cafe in the main lobby.

Our room was nice and spacious. We found a welcome note with some chocolate, which was very thoughtful of the hotel. My husband and I were also very impressed with how the room was spotless. The king bed and pillows were really comfy. It was almost hard to get up every morning. The bathroom was clean with plenty counter space. In addition, the room has a mini fridge, safe, TV, and desk. The only thing the room did not have was a microwave; however, there is a microwave in the vending machine room located on each floor.

The service here was phenomenal. From the moment we checked in to when we checked out, the staff have been very friendly and approachable. On the day we checked in, I received a text from the hotel letting us know to text them if we need anything. Since I'm pregnant, we requested two extra pillows for me. The staff were happy to help and promptly brought up pillows to our room. Also note that they are following Covid guidelines with housekeeping not entering your room during your entire stay. If you want to get new towels or need your room to be cleaned, the staff are easily reachable to arrange for housekeeping to stop by. The only thing we suggest is that since we stayed for a few nights, we had trash building up in our room. Thankfully, we ran into housekeeping on one of the days we got back to our room early in the day. They were happy to help take out trash for us. Having a larger trash can in the room for both recyclables and trash and even one on each floor would help a lot and lessen the burden on housekeeping to take our trash from our room.

Overall, this Hotel Maverick is a great hotel choice while visiting Grand Junction. We will be sure to stay here again the next time we're in town. I definitely recommend!!!

We loved this property on the college campus. It had its one year anniversary while we were there and we received a bottle of champagne upon our arrival. The property’s architecture is modern and clean; really a pleasure to look at. The staff is welcoming and accommodating. We wish we could have taken advantage of the beautiful hot tub, but it was unbearably and unusually hot during our trip. The hotel is full of heritage photos of the college and its students. The halls in this building are unusually wide and it’s a lot of little touches like this that make the property outstanding. The bathrooms are subway tile and gorgeous with lots of toiletries. It is extremely dog friendly with wide open spaces, dog beds, elevated dog dishes and a dog friendly staff. The restaurant is on the fourth floor along with some of the beautiful rooms. We were negligent on making reservations, but found out the hard way and from our local friends that it’s actually hard to get into. The hotel is situated in a safe area and the views off the west side overlook the brand new campus (currently being completed) and the mountains. We loved our little balcony and would say it’s worth it. It was so nice not to stay in a chain motel with a bunch of miscellaneous charges when you check out. They use a text message system to communicate with you and it’s very convenient. We hope to return to the hotel soon!

The Maverick Hotel in Grand Junction is a breath of fresh air! We have been mountain biking in Fruita for over a decade and we never have a nice place to stay. We often skip mountain biking in the area and head to Moab instead. We do not need to do that anymore!

The Maverick Hotel is absolutely lovely! New, modern, wonderful staff, beautiful rooms, balcony sunsets, gorgeous mesa views and they allow dogs! We had such a fun three-night stay at this property. The hotel is located on a small beautiful college campus. We walked our dog around the campus in the morning, went mountain biking in the afternoon, and hit happy hour on the rooftop deck at the Maverick.

We felt very COVID safe as the property follows strict protocols. Our room was extremely clean and we were offered the ability to chose whether or not we wanted room cleaning. Masks are worn everywhere inside and everyone was practicing social distancing.

I highly recommend the Maverick Hotel and we will return!

We stayed twice at the Hotel Maverick and we can't say enough good things about this Hotel. But we will try. First the service. From the moment you enter the lobby the Front Desk staff makes you feel way beyond welcome. They are friendly and efficient and explain everything you need to know in a very personable manner. I messed up on my second reservation but the young lady at the desk took care of it without any issue at all. She was as pleasant as could be even though my error was pretty significant. We had our dog with us and they treated him like a human. We had a second floor room the first time and a ground floor room the second time which made taking the dog out much easier (so highly recommend if you are traveling with your dog). The rooms are really nice and very comfortable. The bed is great and the refrigerator is perfect for things you bring or pick up. The bathroom is beautiful and the shower is large with a great shower head! The bathroom door is a slider and much less noisy than a regular bathroom door. Our dog-friendly room had a dog bed. and two bowls for food and water. And of course a large dog snack. The rooms are very well insulated so hardly any noise from the other rooms either adjacent or above. There is a nice little coffee shop right off the lobby (Betty's) which is very convenient for a coffee and pastry if you are on your way out. We did not try to restaurant on the top floor but I will assume it is just as excellent as the rest of the hotel. The location is ideal. It sits at the edge of a university (Colorado Mesa University) so it is perfect for a nice walk. Good restaurants are nearby and within walking distance. If you are ever in Grand Junction and want an exceptional hotel with very good prices for what you get, we HIGHLY recommend the Hotel Maverick!!!

We had never been to the Western Slope and came to explore and relax. Hotel Maverick was perfect for our trip. The location is convenient and close to downtown. It was very dog friendly - it’s literally on a college campus so there was a ton of huge grassy areas the pups loved. The coffee shop offered complimentary coffee for guests, and a tasty breakfast sandwich. The room was very modern and clean - the bed was super comfortable and I especially enjoyed the bright bathroom with a large shower. Very nice, fresh-feeling hotel. Would definitely recommend!

I found Hotel Maverick after reading many disappointing reviews on hotels in Grand Junction. It is next to a campus, has a great vibe and even during the pandemic people were friendly. We stayed 2 nights at the beginning and end of our 14 days in Colorado. The room was very nice, clean and the bathrooms excellent. Only thing I would have loved to have was a magnifying mirror. They offered the rise and shine deal, giving $20 worth of breakfast items, and with good coffees on site it was used both times. Host and hostesses were helpful and knowledgeable. Only 3 miles from the airport and it was quiet. Highly recommend.
