Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

My gal and I stayed in the "vista suite," which was on the top floor with terrific views, in October 2004. It was fabulous. Granted it was the best of the rooms, but such extravagance was not necessary as all of the rooms were excellent -- with great views, and nice accommodations. The B&B was designed for the purpose (not a re-designed house), and so it felt like a very comfortable hotel in some ways.
It is at the top of a hill, and the roads to get there were a bit of a challenge. However, the instructions we received confirming our reservation were simple and easy to follow. The hosts were very responsive to our requests for help and suggestions, with maps and background data. The breakfasts (over two days) were not a great feast, but the food was carefully prepared and presented in a tasteful fashion.
I recommend this place highly, and would not hesitate to stay there again.

My wife and I stayed four nights at Los Altos in early June 2012, and we'd definitely stay again. Los Altos is located on a hilltop three miles southwest of central Grand Junction; it takes 10 minutes (or less) to get into town. The inn was built to be a bed-and-breakfast, so each room was designed to be self-contained--this is not a converted private residence.

Los Altos features wonderful views of the cliffs in Colorado National Monument, and views across the Grand Valley and Grand Junction to the Book Cliffs on the north. The inn is not, however, secluded in the "middle of nowhere" as some images of it may lead you to believe. It is in the midst of a high-end subdivision called The Cliffs, and the expansive natural panorama also includes views of houses and golf courses.

Our room on the second floor was very pleasant and exceptionally clean. The bed was excellent. We could enter the inn through the common rooms on the first floor, or we could enter via French doors that opened onto the wooden deck outside our room, which also featured two chairs for relaxing and enjoying the views.

The hosts, Young-Ja and her husband Lee (Leigh?), were exceptional. They were very welcoming and provided lots of information about Grand Junction (a place they obviously love), including places to eat and places to visit. Since one of the reasons we were in town was to consider Grand Junction as a retirement location, we asked the hosts to recommend a Realtor, and they set us up with a wonderful Realtor who really took care of us on short notice.

Breakfasts were outstanding--imaginative, generous, and leisurely paced. If you go away hungry, it's your own fault. Hot and cold beverages (including coffee, albeit coffee bags) and chocolate chip cookies were available in the comfortable common room at all hours.

I just have a few minor beefs. The inn has rugs but is not fully carpeted; if there are other guests, the sounds of their footsteps in the hall can be a bit loud. Also, as I've found in many bed-and-breakfast inns, there was almost no space on which to lay out toiletries near the sink; I ended up with toiletries spread on the floor.

If I could give Los Altos and its hosts a "4-1/2 dot" rating, I would. It's not heaven, but it comes pretty close.

The initial approach from Grand Junction does not do this place justice. Suddenly you emerge from pleasant but very ordinary suburbs turning right up a steep drive and there is Los Altos with an incredible view.
Los Altos is immaculate and gives the impression of being run with military efficiency. The room was very comfortable with its own entrance; breakfast delicious; the owners extremely helpful but most spectacular of it all are the views - 360 degrees.

My husband and I stayed here a few weekends ago. We loved it. Directions had a bit of an error (wrong street name for one street winding its way up), but the views were well worth the trip! The innkeepers were friendly without being intrusive. We would definitely stay there again. The room we originally booked had had some water damage so we got upgraded. Vey glad we did. All upstaris roms ahve lovely views and balconies. Also, only a ten minute drive to downtown GJ for restaurants and entertainment, and very close to Two Rivers Winery tasting room.

My wife and I enjoyed 3 nights (and 3 amazing breakfasts) at Los Altos. If you're looking for a unique, quiet, and peaceful get away in Grand Junction, I would recommend you stay here with zero hesitation.
- The hosts, Young-Ja and Lee are amazing. They clearly have a passion and love for their work together, and I was so appreciative to benefit :-)
- All three of the breakfasts that we enjoyed were 5 star! We also enjoyed chatting with different guests each morning from New Zealand, West Virginia, and Colorado Spring. The table preparation and service by Lee was far beyond any expectation I had.
- The 360 degree view of Grand Junction, the Monument, and the Book Cliffs is amazing from their property and numerous porches.
- Our room was spotless and the bed super comfortable.
- Their dog Lilly is super sweet.
- The drive from Los Altos to Main St is quick and easy.

Thanks again!

My husband and I (along with my mother) recently stayed at this classy and well-situated property. We found it beautiful/scenic, peaceful, comfortable, architecturally lovely, and extraordinarily quiet - I mean truly quiet. It fulfilled all of our requirements as slightly weary (yet still discerning) road-travelers, and exceeded my expectations in all kinds of little ways. Lee and his wife Young-Ja are the nicest people. You can feel the pride they have in caring for their wonderful place – whether through cooking/table presentation, decorating, or informing/helping their guests – their dedication translates into their guests feeling very respected and cared for. Lee graciously greeted us, gave us the home’s overview, showed us to our rooms, and helped us pick out a Mexican restaurant for dinner. We really enjoyed the restaurant he recommended (where he said his son likes), and we appreciated his help with that. My husband and I stayed in the Vista Suite which is an absolutely fantastic room, and we just loved it. My mother stayed in the Sunset Room, where she was also very happy and comfortable. The upstairs Vista Suite with its views, private balcony, spacious floor plan, table for two, comfortable bed, and lovely (not to mention huge) bathroom was a real treat to stay in. I look forward to staying at this incredible bed and breakfast again, as well as visiting with the intelligent, family-oriented, and multi-talented owners.

Lee and Young Ja made the entire experience staying at thier B&B wonderful. I stayed for 2 nights with my In-laws, husband and 11 month old in the apartment above the garage. It was detached from the rest of the B&B and perfect for our daughter to run around and play in without disturbing anyone. The rooms were very clean and the beds/sofa were comfortable. Both mornings we were served very delicious breakfasts. Stuffed french toast, Bacon cups with egg and cheese, Fresh fruit and baked goods. The views from our balcony or from any part of the property of Grand Junction and the Colorado National Monument were wonderful. The house is ontop of what looks like the highest hill in the area overlooking everything in a full 360* view. Thank you for the Lovely stay and Great conversations.

Judy & I don't travel often, so when we do we like to go First Class. Lee and Young Jao, owner/operators of Los Altos B&B in Grand Junction, CO made us feel welcome and comfortable from the moment we arrived. Our King Suite was spacious and beautifully appointed. The fireplace in our room was especially cozy when the outside temp dipped below 30 on our first night. We enjoyed hearty and tasty breakfasts of french toast with cream cheese and fresh strawberries and link sausage on Saturday, and a mushroom, bacon & cheese omelet on Sunday. Young Jao's apricot scones were incredible and Lee never let our coffee cups go below halfway. We didn't want to leave.

Beautiful location on a hilltop with gorgeous views. We stayed in the suite above the garage, which was huge, very clean, and very quiet. Owner is extremely knowledgeable and a great story-teller, a delight to talk with him.
