We booked a 2 bed non-smoking room in January. The girl at the desk was very nice and helpful. Our room, although a bit stuffy, was big, clean and had a refrigerator. The wireless was fast and reliable. The only thing that was annoying was the trash bin located right in front of our room and overflowing with trash to the point where trash bags had accumulated on the ground. We did not use the outdoor hot tub but it would have been nice, given that the lodge took pride in advertising it on its website. The view was not spectacular but we were not expecting it to be so either, and we did not find the street noise to be bothersome. The location is excellent if you are on a road trip, as we were, and relatively close to some of the restaurants and bars - not walking, but a short driving distance. I would recommend this place as affordable and clean.

We were late making reservations for a night in Glenwood Springs in the height of aspen-viewing season so ended up in this renovated 1950ish hotel for $67/night. I was more than a little leary but it was surpassingly good. Room was big enough, everything in working order, we had a comfy king bed, all was very clean, traffic noise was drowned out with a sound screen, and the breakfast area in the hotel lobby was nicely decorated and I was at least pleased to have some protein in the form of hard-boiled eggs. No problems with the internet. This is not a plush place but was clean and very economical and we found the manager to be quite pleasant.

Rather than spend $100+ for a bed I decided to gamble and stay here based on the reviews. I was a little worried after finding the place, it looks pretty questionable. The front desk was very nice and quick. The room was upstairs. Clean and comfortable. Could use new paint etc but everything worked. The road was loud most of the night but not so much we couldn't sleep. Not much in the way of breakfast. For the money it was good. If all you need is a bed and aren't too picky I would recommend.

On a trip from Montreal Canada to San Fransisco USA we stopped at this motel in Glenwood Springs CO. It was late and when we arrived they treated us like kings. The bed was comfortable. The room was clean as a whistle. Good shower and the coffee was very good too. Great place, Great people. The town has a huge hot spring heated pool. The warmest and the largest pool I have ever seen.

I went with this hotel after reading some of the reviews - as "good" - well, if it use to be, it isn't any more. We stayed there last night after spending 6 hours hiking around the Maroon Bells in Aspen. We were beat and got there to get an early nights sleep before heading to Hanging Lake today. We were in room 121 and the traffic was so loud (there is a street on the backside of the room) that I didn't get to sleep for hours... then, this am we wanted to get an early start got up at 6:30 for a shower to leave by 7:00. No light in the bathroom. No showers... called the lady with an accent that said she was a manger. She was rude, and hung up on me when I told her the issues. Clearly they are not all about the customer service. One star was more than they deserve. The office didn't open til 7:30 - they serve a breakfast but, it certainly wasn't an early one as we were on the road at 7:00 and didn't open before that... so I guess if you enjoy a brunch!

So you don't want to spend a ton of money for a hotel in Glenwood Springs? Like everyone said... it's basic, Clean accommodations. The lady manager at the front desk was kind and made sure we had a room with a refrigerator and a microwave since we had young children. She also gave us a room with WiFi, but I could never get a good signal. This allowed less time on the internet and more time to rest, spend time with the wife and kids and to catch up on old school cartoons on the boomerang network when we weren't out and about in Glenwood Springs.

Do your homework... you get a good price, but there is No Shampoo here. My wife and I bring our own usually. There is soap and plenty of clean towels. There are clean sheets. There's no coffee in the rooms, but there is some in the office.

The beds are firm, so if you like a soft bed, don't expect to like it. Remember, I said firm, not hard. I've slept on much harder beds in much more pricier hotels.

No pets are allowed here which was nice... no barking at night. In fact, this was a nice quiet motel.

Something else that was nice was Wal-Mart was located a block or so behind if you forgot anything.

My family and I will stay here next time we are in town!

While on a little trip with my children we stayed her. After a day of swimming, we came back to find that medications were missing, personal items from a purse were missing, drinks were thrown away and our suitcases moved. (Oh and not to mention my children's underwear moved and folded too)

When I went to the office to confront them about the missing items they started yelling at me in front of my children. The first person I talked to slammed the door in my face and wouldn't come out to talk to me about this again. All they wanted was for me to leave a number and they would eventually "call me".

I eventually ended up talking to an older gentleman, while my mom was listening over the phone, and he started accusing me of being a liar, calling me psycho, and accusing me of being high. All of which is untrue and to be quite frank I didn't yell or scream at all during this incident, at this point, my kids and I were all crying while he continued to yell at us.

I had to call the police due to this and they felt really bad for me and apparently, it was up to the hotel to compensate if they choose. Obviously, they didn't and the police indicated that they were very rude and made sure that I was going to be safe while my children and I got ready to leave.

Needless to say my children and my family as a whole were extremely upset and unless you are looking for a horrible place to say please avoid this place at all costs.

If you are looking for a no frills, clean, and cheap place to stay, this was awesome. Everything was simple, there was a cute little place to eat across the parking lot and the views right outside are magnificent.

We booked the last room on a Friday night during peak 'leaf peeping' season. The road over independence pass was busy, hotels were all full and this is what was available.

To my surprise, the property is very well cared for. While it is dated and on a busy street, it is clear the owner takes pride in keeping it up. There is a cute little deck where we returned after dinner to enjoy the wine we brought with us.

The room was spacious (again, though somewhat dated) and very clean.

The desk staff was really attentive, but not intrusive and very friendly.

This is a good priced, clean, friendly option if you are in the area.

The frontier lodge was a wonderful stop for 2 nights on our road trip. The staff were lovely at check in, the room was clean, recently refurbished, and a nice king size bed. The breakfast which consisted of bagels, pancakes, cereals, hard boiled eggs and spreads as well as coffee was lovely. Thank you for a wonderful stay.
