Staying at the Cedar Lodge was the best decision we made when planning our trip to Glenwood Springs! The pride of ownership is everywhere. The flowers are everywhere. The property is immaculately clean. The rooms are immaculately clean. Our room was on the second floor at the back of the property and very quiet even though they were nearly full. We enjoyed hanging out at the outdoor pool in the evenings. Tip: Call the motel directly for the best rates. The Cedar Lodge will be our home away from home for Glenwood trips!

This was the second overnight motel of our road trip west. When planning our trip, I chose motels so that we didn't have to deal with inside hallways etc. where we could possibly catch Covid.

Upon arrival, at first glance we thought this particular choice wasn't going to be too great. That is because it is obviously an older motel. And because it was older, at first upon arriving and walking in the door, we weren't sure if we would like it. But we figured, hey it's just one night.

In the end after discovering that they had thought of everything at this motel, we were pleased. There were hand soap dispensers at the separate bathroom sink outside the bathroom, which was the only time we saw a hand soap dispenser at a sink on our trip, and it was so convenient and much appreciated.

And there were a lot of convenient outlets! Everything was clean and it was obvious that actually even though it was quite a bit older, they had tried to think of everything when they made updates to the rooms. It looked like the toilets and tubs were also new.

The motel was full and we could still find a parking space late at night. Everyone abided by the quiet hours later at night. After chatting with several people, it turns out it is a favorite place of a lot of people, and they return year after year.

There was a pretty landscaped quaint sitting garden outside of the pool. And there were cheerful flowering plants spread around the property in pots. It was obvious that the owners take pride in their motel!

If you're a smoker, they do have a separate smoking area, and smoker's kept to it. It was a nice little setting for people who smoke, not some old thing just thrown there to say they had that kind of area.

The only negative thing I can say is that I thought our sheets were a little scratchy, and the coffee packets in the room were not good tasting to us at all. But we brought our own little coffee pot and coffee, so we skipped their coffee.

But really everything else was very good considering the age and updates to the property and for what we paid in a high demand time of year in a tourist destination. (I'm only giving them 4 bubbles because of the sheets. :)

This was a clean/adequate room at a fairly reasonable price ($194.43 for a room with two queen beds), includes cold breakfast in a small somewhat crowded breakfast room. Free wifi. Non smoking room with refrigerator and microwave. No elevator.

I had planned on staying 11 days at this location. Upon arriving in my room, I found the frig dirty and missing a leg which caused it to wobble. Also the frig and microwave were placed on a wire stand which looked like something you would use in your garage. They also had placed those foam pads on the bed making it very uncomfortable and the room was painted a very dull dark color. And Lastly the room was nothing like the bright airy pictures on the internet. Beware the pictures for this facility must have been taken when lodge was built. I promptly found Best Western Antlers that night and checked in there the next day. I only spent one sad night at Cedar Lodge which was definitely one night too much!

This was our first time staying at the Glenwood Spring Cedar Lodge and we would stay here again. The price was the big selling point, as it was $50 less than the price of the place we usually stay at. The staff was very friendly, especially the gentleman who was working the breakfast room. The room was clean and comfortable. The grounds were clean and well maintained. We only stayed for one night, but it was the perfect place to do so. Highly recommend!

4 stars for our King Std room for a 1 night stay.
As advertised but only a basic motel stay as the large venue is showing its age somewhat, though our room was cleanly presented.
Very thin bath towels.
The in room, small fridge with a separate freezer space was appreciated for my meds and travel ice pack.
I would recommend asking for a ground floor unit and one at the back; as the 2 story motel is on a main road.
The breakfast was exceptionally well managed by the mature male employee. Bananas, yoghurt, cereal and bread; with boiled eggs too.
Good wi-fi.

We love staying at smaller, non-chain hotels and this one did NOT disappoint! We had a king suite, corner room right by steps for 2nd floor. We never heard any noise from other rooms. Our room was HUGE with sitting area, fireplace, comfortable, and all was very clean. Breakfast was OK, we did use the laundry room which was clean and well kept.

This place is simply superb in nearly every way! Rooms are immaculately clean, spacious, and quiet. The grounds are beautifully kept with lots of flowers, trees, and plenty of outdoor picnic tables and chairs to sit and enjoy the view of the mountains from the hotel. The staff is very friendly and helpful and the pools they have are set at a very pleasant temperature. Where they do need improvement is their breakfast selection, but there is a Starbucks and a Wendy's across the street or you can venture to 19th street diner which is within walking distance, like 2 maybe 3 blocks.
This hotel also provides two propane grills for their guests to cook outside by the picnic tables if they choose to do so. Overall, I strongly recommend this hotel.

We spent one night here on 7/10/22. The room and bed was comfortable but nothing special. There was no alarm clock provided but other than having a device to quickly check the time, it was no big deal. Nice mini fridge and microwave and a good shower. The continental breakfast had a good assortment of fresh donuts, bagels, cereal, juice, yogurt, etc. No real negatives.

We were very satisfied with this lodge. It is out of the crowded area of Glenwood Springs and allows easy access to ski areas to the southeast. The room was on the second floor and there is no elevator. Everything (WiFi, microwave, etc) was in good working order. Shops and dining establishments are within easy walking distance. We particularly like the breakfast area which did not have a TV in it!

Sorry for the delayed response. Yes! There is one of the few remaining independent ski areas — Sunlight Mountain Resort and it is fun and affordable. Within a 40 minute drive to the south there is Aspen Mountain, Aspen Highlands, Buttermilk, and Snowmass. To the east, there's Vail and Beaver Creek. Hope that helps.
