Our only disappointment was lack of breakfast choices. Fresh muffins were good. Other options were cereal, toast and prepackaged egg and cheese burritos. Bed was comfy and shower was hot. Staff was friendly.
I checked in very late (4 am to be exact) for a few hours sleep during a long trip. I wasn't sure how busy their bookings were for the next day, so I asked if I could get a late checkout after my check in procedure had been completed. The young male working the front desk told me "Sure no problem, I see you've been a Wyndham Rewards member for many years, and it is very late no problem, how does a noon check out sound?" "Perfect thanks so much" I replied. I then watched him enter the information in the computer. Cut to 9:45 am. (My alarm was set fro 11 am to get me 7 hours of much needed sleep before showering and leaving before my noon checkout.) Housekeeping staff pounding on my door (despite the noon checkout being recorded in my record and despite my clear "do not disturb" hangtag on the door.) This continued every half hour (despite the fact I told each one I HAVE A NOON CHECKOUT) Apparently this staff does not communicate with each other, nor do they check in the guest records which guests are stay overs, which guests have late checkouts etc Cut my much needed sleep by 2 hours If you want to overpay to stay in a very dated property, that is run by not bright folks who seem to hate their guests, and clearly have an absolute inability to read and communicate even with each other, this would be a great place. If not, avoid this place.…
Hotel staff was friendly, location is not right in town but close enough, had a good night's stay and would stay again. Clean, comfortable, quiet room facing south. The property seems well maintained and I stayed just for 1 night.
Easy to find, just a little out of the downtown area, plenty of parking. Staff was super nice. Had a few problems with the room the first night, but staff was able to find us another room and the second night was problem free. Sometimes everything is not perfect but as long as management makes it right I'm good with that. After a long day on the train all you want is a clean bed and hot shower and this had both.
I was traveling with my Daughter and 2 Grand Daughters. We were traveling to a celebration of life for my cousin. We found to Super 8 to be clean, the employees were very helpful. We would stay again.
The outside is run down, but the inside has been remodeled. Clean and quiet rooms. Housekeeping is limited to trash and towles. But the sign said to ask if yo wanted more. I asked to have the bed made each day and was told no, but then it was made each day.
Nicest Super 8 I have ever stayed in. Huge clean, comfortable room with microwave & fridge. Large clean hallways. Convenient to shopping & food. Breakfast options were limited - drinks, juice, prepackaged small bagels, chocolate muffins, fruit. Fruit was good and fresh.
I find the room are always clean, The staff is always friendly and helpfull,The Super 8 is close to town, I make this trip every month. Many shops and restaurant in town. Just easy Access off Hwy 160. Don't forget the Train .
The room and staff were excellent. The sleep that my husband got was almost none because the mattress was so bad. My husband had surgery the next day we should have stayed home and made the trip the next day.
Super 8 hotel in South Durango, CO. I recently was on a long driving trip from Oregon to Texas, and stayed at the "Super 8 by Wyndham" at 20 Stewart Street, in Durango Colorado. What a lucky pick! I first had stopped in town in Durango at a couple of places that were full, not very clean or safe looking, then looked on my phone and found this one on the south end of town and across the highway from a mall and restaurants. I'm so glad the other two were full because this one was ideal. And well lighted parking that was very safe. It is an older building (on the outside) BUT has been completely remodeled in the rooms and felt like I was in a virtually new hotel. Also it was the cleanest room I've ever stayed in. Wish I could get a cleaning crew like theirs to come clean my house!! I really don't like staying in rooms that have just been "cleaned" with a "lick and a promise." This one felt very safe and germ free! And the hotel was very quiet, and the bed was a great quality mattress. (sometimes I have to bring my own pad in) So I got a great nights sleep because I had to leave early the next morning. It has a Wyndham name, but is privately owned by a sweet older aged couple who run it like a "mom and pop business." They were very nice and were very helpful with questions or anything I needed. It was not like a big commercial hotel that just wants your money without customer service. The other good thing about it was that "Naat" (sp?), the owner, gave me a price a few dollars even lower than the lowest one I had seen on the online booking service. (I'm not good at using those online booking things). I will definitely stay here on my next trip through Durango. I just wish all motels or hotels had the feel and attitude that this one did! I'm 64 now and so many businesses are not run like they used to be with pride and an attitude of helpfulness and quality control.…
