We really enjoyed our stay as the location was in walking distance to the train station in the heart of the old historic district. We liked the convenience of being nearby all the sights and sounds of Durango. The continental breakfast was great for a grab and go.

We had a great stay at the Durango Lodge. We were looking for affordable lodging that was close the train depot for the Durango/Silverton Narrow Gauge Steam Train and this was within less than a 5-10 minute walk from the lodge/parking for the train. Also, equally close to the quaint downtown area which is very walkable to enjoy all the local shops and restaurants. Our room was very clean and also very quiet. The breakfast selection was adequate to get our day started. I would stay here again. The train ride was well worth going out of our way for and staying a night in Durango - absolutely stunning! Thank you for a great stay Durango Lodge!

Great hotel right on the edge of downtown Durango with easy walking to many restaurants and activities. The rooms are very clean and have a small refrigerator that's just right for a few snacks and beverages. The staff is friendly and very helpful. We will stay again when we return to the area.

Staff at reception extremely unpleasant and surly. Room service for a 2-day stay apparently must be demanded upfront or nothing gets done: no new sheets, no new towels (old towels stay on the floor of the bathroom), no new toiletries, no picking up of garbage. Not to mention the breakfast which is an abysmal spread of day-old pastries and rotten bananas. However the coffee is hot. Interestingly enough, this hotel cannot print you a bill from a printer. The bill is on an hand-written sheet of paper. Pathetic...And you pay a ridiculous high price. On the positive side, the hotel is in a superb location and the rooms are clean. As a summary, the downtown location does not justify the unacceptable flaws of this property. There are a lot of places to stay in touristy Durango without patronizing such a dismal hotel. My recommendation: look elsewhere

First arriving the outside looks like a cheap motel. Very basic outside. A nice welcome at the front desk. No elevator, so had to carry all our luggage upstairs. The room was large, clean, and had all we needed. A funny smell turned out to be from the train that runs very close by. I sprayed around with body spray. Sorted. Had a swim in the pool, and relaxed in the hot tub. Very nice. Walked into town, which was a bit dead at 6 on a Monday. Lots of places close at 5, and on a Monday. Found a great place to eat behind the hotel. Gazpacho. Breakfast was basic, but adequate. Good spot.

This hotel was just the best! Clean, quiet, comfortable room. Beautiful pool and hot tub area. Pristine! Great location. Very close to train station and walking distance to all shops, restaurants, breweries and bars. If we could have stayed in Durango longer, I would have been more than happy to stay here the whole time.

The Durango Lodge is in a great location in downtown Durango. Lots of shops and restaurants in easy walking distance. Lodge staff friendly and helpful. Included parking a plus. Our room was very clean with nice linens and sheets. Bed quite comfy.

There was an older lady at check in that was very rude and short with us. My husband ask which direction should he head to room and her reply was “did you look upstairs???” The next evening we realized our room was not cleaned. The same woman told me “if we would have listened at check in then we would know it had to be requested”. Parking is very tight and limited.

The location was easy to find, and within walking distance to the Durango and Silverton Train. Our room was bottom floor, and was fairly quiet, except for a crying baby that we heard occasionally next door. Room and beds were comfortable and clean.

Here last weekend for one night with a friend. Loved our stay!! Great AC, comfortable beds/pillows, excellent water pressure, black out curtain and friendly staff. The morning and afternoon check in/out folks were both very nice. Quiet at night. The folks staying here weren't partiers. I liked the free parking and just steps from all the restaurants. Also, I checked out Animas Bike Path and lodge is very close - go on Main, left on College, go thru Camino street and you're right there.
