On arrival, was met by the owner (Carolyn) of the cottage, who provided not only provided a very warm welcome, but also plenty of local detail about any information that might be required for the duration of your stay. This itself is also backed up with an excellent guest compendium in the cottage.
The cottage itself is relatively compact and basic in design but lacks absolutely nothing regards amenities and offers a wonderful opportunity to have periods of respite and solitude, especially after an active and gruelling day. A small veranda without outdoor furniture also offers wonderful views of the Manukau Plains, and entertainment from an abundant and very wide variety of birds.
Furnishings within the cottage were wonderfully comfortable, including a large bed.
A very extensive supply of food ensures you can have a very comprehensive breakfast as well as in between snacks.
The only negative was (and you are warned about this because of being in a rural location). the poor Wi-Fi signal that ranged from non-existent to very weak.

The cottages were set in the hills with good views. Lots of space, chance to bird watch and just chill out on the veranda. The accommodation had everything we needed. comfy bed, well equipped kitchen and not too pokey a bathroom. It was spotlessly clean and would recommend. The only reason it didn't get a 5 is breakfast. Really was a let down in this lovely place. This comprised of basically 1 small bottle of milk to last 3 days. It only lasted the cereal and coffee for one day and half a breakfast the next. One loaf of bread was in the cupboard on arrival and that was already a day old so ended up in the bin after the first breakfast. Packets of cereals were in the cupboard along with sachets of butter and jam and a few tins of peaches. We did have a basket of fruit as promised. Daily fresh bread and milk would have made our trip perfect. and worthy of that 5.

Very tidy clean cottages with lovely country views. Breakfast is supplied in the unit enough for 3 days, nice fresh market bread juice cereal etc. Cottages are about 8-10 minutes to the Clevedon village. Would recommend these units and stay here again if I was in the area. Carolyn the host is also very friendly and helpful and free wifi is available.

Great secluded and tranquil place. And only approx 10km from any main shops or attractions. We will definitely be going back again. Perfect for couples having a quiet weekend away from children and the normal hussle and bustle of normal life. I will be recommending to everyone! Owner Carolyn was very helpful and accommodating in EVERY aspect. I cannot thank her enough!

Had a lovely stay in Fantail cottage. It was so private and the views across Auckland were amazing. Very clean, quite new I would say. The continental breakfast was the best that I have had, loved the muesli. The spa was an added bonus.

this was a last minute find and well worth it. Peaceful surroundings, not a sound at night. Everything you need in the unit, fabulous view, during the day you wouldn't even know that was Auckland in the distance. At night, all the lights of the city, but far enough away not to hear any of it. Will definitely stay again when we are at that end of town. Will have to ring ahead though as we will be recommending to everyone we know! Yummy muesli too Carolyn.

I needed a quiet place about 40 minutes south of Auckland. In 3 weeks, I stayed in 3 places & this was definitely the best. You can see both oceans from here, and the countryside in between is also beautiful. The sunsets are in the view, and the hot tub is divine. Most places in the area don’t have adequate heat in winter, but there’s a heat pump here. The owner will leave you alone if you like, however if you need something, she has the kiwi hospitality of “nothing is too much trouble”. She invited me to steak dinner & it was the best homemade food I’ve had in years. She also helped me find a hotel downtown when I had to leave and stay closer to the city.

We had three nights in Fantail on our way to back home in Northland. The cottage was spotless, nicely laid out & had everything we needed. The fridge & cupboards were well stocked with the breakfast items & we could not have asked for anything more. All this in a quiet & relaxing setting with great views. Very many thanks to Carolyn, we would certainly like to stay again at some stage.

Clean unit. Nice, modern and compact. Great views from an elevated position. Out in the country yet only 10 minutes from shopping centre. Highly recommended. Caroline is a friendly host who kept in contact and was ready to help whenever needed.
