This was a top memorable stay of my travelogues! I’ve traveled to 70 countries and Inn at Pinnacles will always bring a smile to my face when I think of our time there.
The West entrance to the park is about 5 minutes away by car. The grounds are stunning with beautiful rooms that have everything one needs for a beautiful escape!
Please be prepared to bring groceries so you can utilize the grill on the deck. There are not many restaurants around and it’s about a 30 minute drive to get food. Our time here was incredible and we had the whole place to ourselves. We enjoyed the pool, wine on the terrace and fabulous home cooked meals. Thank you Krissy for the magical stay!

We were visiting Pinnacles National Park over Memorial day weekend and we were glad to have chosen this Inn. Only 1.5 miles from the west entrance of Pinnacles NP, you can afford to sleep in and still get to the park before 9 am for the coveted parking closest to the trails. Not only was the location great, but it is in the middle of a 160 acre vineyard so it is peaceful, serene, and from our rooms we have the view of the valley and the vineyards. Every room has a jacuzzi tub, which soothed our muscles after a long day of hiking. We BBQ'ed on our private patio. Everything was provided by the host so we didn't have to pack anything besides the food we want to cook. A lovely basket of continental breakfast (juice, milk, croissants and jam, muffins, banana, yogurt) was available each day, and the complimentary wine and cheese socials hosted by the owners allowed guests to socialize. The saline swimming pool was great, and we also enjoyed our spacious room with luxurious bedding and toiletries. The hosts were gracious and answered our every needs.

Inn at the Pinnacles, which is located in the middle of a winery and just a short drive from the west entrance of Pinnacles National Park, is a perfect hideaway for when you simply want to get away from it all. Each suite has its own entry, a small kitchenette, and access to the common areas, which are thoroughly relaxing. Each night during our stay, our hosts, Jan and Jon, held a wine tasting. On Saturday night, we had the privilege of tasting the wines from their winery. Suites are comfortably furnished and the kitchenettes fully appointed with a few cooking utensils as well as dishes. This might not be for everyone, however, because you must either bring your own food or drive 25 minutes into town. Also, the only TV is in the great room in the main house. If you're looking for peace and quiet and easy access to Pinnacles, you won't find a better option.

High on a vineyard covered slope overlooking the Salinas Valley is a not-to-miss place to stay if you wish to see the Pinnacles National Park (westside) and enjoy proximity to an otherwise popular hiking destination. Inn at the Pinnacles is a quiet, well attended accommodation in a vineyard with exciting views, pleasant pool area, relaxing rooms with kitchenette and bath facilities. The proprietors have thought of everything for a couple seeking to be near the Pinnacles and away from the afternoon crowds that can limit access to the National Park. (California's newest)
This is a small place, so book ahead and be sure to read the e-mail fully because there is a code to enter through the closed gate off of the dirt road ( improved ) leading to the facility off of the road to Pinnacles west.

We recently stayed in the Manzanita Suite and loved it. The setting is beautiful, very quiet and relaxing with great views. The Brosseaus are very welcoming and do a great job even with the pandemic restrictions. We would definitely stay again and recommend it to friends. It is very close to the West entrance of Pinnacles National Park and convenient even when going to the East side as well. Overall a good find and a pleasant place to stay! You do need to consider your evening dining plans however as they are limited in Soledad as well as for grocery options. King City has a Safeway grocery/deli and there were a number of decent Mexican restaurants there. We found La Potranca de Jalisco has delicious burritos! Other than being prepared about your evening meal plans, this place is a perfect place to stay when visiting the Park.

The location is perfect for visiting Pinnacles National Park and that is why we chose it. The drain in the bathroom was slow and took forever to clear. (yuck) The back patio was not clean and the mat by the back door was not clean at all. Windows out to the front seemed like they had not been washed in ages. No gourmet breakfast as pictured (and should be a nice breakfast for paying over $300/room per night. Continental breakfast left in room on arrival but nothing for the second night...found out had to ask for it but we were not told that on check in. Had wine one night which was nice. Rooms were quiet and beds were comfortable. Check in was in their kitchen which was pretty much cluttered. Enjoyed the long horn bulls and the three sheep. Vineyards were beautiful and had a nice stroll around the grounds. Stated in the website there were trails to hike, but it was just a small dirt road around the vineyards...10 mins stroll. Would not consider it a good value for your money, but the best place to stay near the West entrance of Pinnacles. No restaurants nearby so you need to bring food for you dinner. Covid was on a decline and when we stayed and they could have easily had a nice breakfast served.

Absolutely charming, romantic, and beautiful! The hosts are lovely, the views are wonderful. The rooms are comfortable and nicely decorated. The pool is heaven after a day of hiking. And the Inn is practically in Pinnacles National Park - which is also wonderful. If possible, stay over a Sat. evening and enjoy a wonderful wine tasting in this spectacular setting. We loved it, and we highly recommend both the Inn and the wine!

I recently stayed at the Inn at the Pinnacles. It was wonderful. They take care of every detail - luxury linens, beautiful appointments, and complete privacy. Each room has its own separate entrance and patio. It feels more like a boutique hotel than a bed and breakfast. The wet bar is stocked with complimentary bottled water and snacks. Well, I was hungry when we checked-in, and I really appreciated this thoughtful gesture. Each room has a mini-fridge and a gas grill (on the patio) as well as the dishes, silverware and glass ware. This allows one to cook dinner and enjoy a glass a wine without having to drive.
A gas fireplace/stove heats your room quite quickly. (An A/C unit provides cool air for the summer months.) The over-sized tub had air jets. It is very hygenic because the jets automatically purge the bathwater. The flooring is ceramic tile and they provide slippers to comfort your barefeet. Overall, the room was exceptionally clean.
There is refreshing balance of professionalism and sincere warmth at this inn. The hostess and host respect your privacy but at the same time, they are gifted conversationalists. If you join them for wine and cheese in the evening, you will enjoy their company. I felt they did an excellent job of making their guests feel welcome.
Here is a list of specific details that made my stay so wonderful: -Abundant lavender growing right on the patio -Spa robes and slippers -Handcrafted wildflower soaps -Extra towels and pillows -Delicious vittles and a great breakfast -Grade "AAA" stemware -Amazing views
I should mention that there are no televisions in the room. This is either a blessing or an inconvenience depending on what you want out of your stay. I do not have any photos of the interior of the room or of the main house, but rest assure it is all Homes-and-Gardens gorgeous. There are some pix of the rooms at their website.

Full disclosure, I worked at Chalone back in the late 1990's, and had dinner once with Jan, Jon and their kids back when they lived in a solar and generator powered hippy shack on what was then their simple, weekend ranch for their family. A few years later, I saw them a second time right when they were cutting the lumber for the walls at the B&B 10 years ago and thought: "a B&B? Here?"
My wife and I stayed here for our 10th wedding anniversary. We are quite familiar with--and enamored with--the Pinnacles and Chalone area, and decided to splurge. As it isn't inexpensive, we had never stayed at the Inn at the Pinnacles until this special occassion. We'd always camped, or stayed with friends. But, the Inn is truly fantastic, and we will be going back, even for not-so-special occassions.
Jon and Jan are the consumate hosts. He's a rocket scientist (really), and a gregarious and colorful one. Jan has obviously mastered both motherhood and grandmotherhood, and is the highly atune to guests' needs. The rooms were well-apportioned, clean and neat, and breakfasts were tasty.
This is not a place for everyone, but for sure a perfect place for some. Perhaps the one critical aspect of a successful match between you and the Inn at the Pinnacles is that you need to be up for a little adventure. Truly, the marvel here is that they created this oasis in the middle of nowhere. Water is piped 11 miles up the hill, as is electricity, and the road there is long, narrow, and winding. Rare is a visitor who is driving up the hill for the first time who doesn't second guess that they are headed the right direction. Comparing this to other similarly-priced B&B's is just not fair; perhaps amenity for amenity, the Inn at the Pinnacles is not quite a fancy as others you might find for this same price point. But then you must consider that the Brousseau's built this themselves, paving stone by paving stone, this far up the mountain. And it qualifies as luxurious by pretty much any standard.
Adventure is everywhere at the Inn at the Pinnacles, though not the typical tourist/shopping kind. Restaurant access is limited (Soledad boasts a few good Mexican joints, but that's about it). But, grilling on your deck at the B&B is probably the best dinner and view you could ever have. Sure you could swim in fancier pools, but this one has not only has a killer view, but that water came 11 miles up the hill, and the solitude from the pool deck is symphonic (I don't know how else to describe the scale and beauty of the place; the view is 360 degrees of spectacular). If you are looking for a manny/pedi, look elsewhere. But if you want to hike in the likes of the Pinnacles--a special national park without the crowds of, say, a Yosemite--then this is the place for you. Beware, it isn't always the quietest place at night, because the coyotes occassionally howl back and forth at each other by the light of the full moon. It's spectacular; this is real frontier country.
Wine is definitely another theme here. Nestled right up next to Chalone, which is unfortunately no longer open for visitors, this is viticulture in the extreme. Brousseau's planted the vineyard that surrounds the B&B over 20 years ago, and they are both farmers and innkeepers. They know there stuff, sell grapes to many of the cult producers of California, and there own wine--made by their son--is fantastic. So, you get the local wine--which is great--as well as access to good information about the rest of the wineries in Salinas.
One possible adventure, we brought our road bikes and did a great 30 mile "Tour De Soledad" starting in Soledad, going south on Metz road, across to Greenfield on Elm, on our to Arroyo Seco road, and then back (with a quick 1/2 mile race down a wide shoulder on 101) to the finish for Carnitas and Coronas at Mariscos Mexican Restaurant. It was a fantastic loop.
For the right person, we can't recommend this place enough. It is sort of in that class that defies categorization: perhaps along the lines of an Evergreen Lodge in Yosemite, or maybe a Costanoa near Half Moon Bay (though neither is actually LIKE the Inn at the Pinnacles). And while I mentioned the breakfasts--which are really, really good--I think my favorite part was the daily wine, cheese and social hour. The Brousseau's are great conversationalists about the area, and more importantly, you are likely to meet fellow like-minded adventurers who are staying at the Inn as well. It is a special cadre that seek this place out.

This is a real gem of a place that the owners have turned into something special. We felt like we were in a villa in Provence the entire four days we spent there. The inn is situated on 140 acres, 40 of which are vineyards on rolling hills, all part of the Brosseau vineyards, owned by Jon and Jan Brosseau. The place is secluded and surrounded by fields of lavender. The air is so clean and fresh with no pollution. At night, we star-gazed in the clear sky and were able to see the Milky Way, planets and other constellations-truly an amazing experience.
This is a 6 room B & B, and we travelled with a few families so we had the whole place to ourselves. We, unfortunately, had some unforeseen circumstances arise a couple weeks before our arrival, necessitating many changes in our reservation. At no time did Jan make us feel we were inconveniencing her, even though we probably were. She was very flexible and understanding about the unfortunateness of our situation and remained ever the gracious host. When we finally arrived, we completely felt at home the entire week.
Everything about our stay was perfect. The rooms were impeccable and spacious and had all the amenities we could possibly need. The gourmet breakfasts (vegetable quiche, egg casserole, croissant french toast, fresh fruit, cereals, breads, muffins, etc.) were so delicious and filling; we also appreciated being handed a cup of coffee by Jon first thing when we walked into the kitchen in the morning. The kids in our group were similarly welcomed and given first class treatment as well; they were delighted to have a cup of hot cocoa with whip cream each morning - that was a very thoughtful touch. They also enjoyed having access to microwave popcorn and other packaged snacks.
The proximity to Pinnacles National Park could not be better. It was about a 5-10 minute drive to the park entrance. We hiked during the day and then returned to the inn in the late afternoon to relax. The pool and surrounding area was fantastic and provided stunning views of the surrounding vineyards and valley. The kids were also pleasantly surprised to be able to try out the archery set. There is a ping pong table and bocci ball court as well. This place was enjoyed by all the adults AND kids (ages 8-15), which is saying a lot. We particularly enjoyed the wine (tasting the yummy wines of the Brosseau vineyards), cheese and appetizers in the evening, sitting under the shade tree, listening to Jon's stories of their family and the history of how he built the vineyard and inn.
There is so much attention to detail at this place in the amenities and the personal touches from Jon and Jan. We enjoyed ourselves so much that we are already thinking of returning. While the individual rooms offer privacy and dedicated balconies that would make this an ideal spot for couples, I also highly recommend coming in a group and booking all the rooms as we did. You will really feel like you are in a French villa in Provence - "without the 10-hour flight," as Jon would say!
