Very nice, reasonably priced Hilton hotel located 15 min walk away from the Pier. Newly furbished, very clean rooms, not much of a view from 5th floor but bright. Staff is extremely friendly and helpful. Workout room is well maintained and the pool, though on the 2nd floor, seemed fun for the family swimming in the warm afternoon limited sun.
Breakfast was plentiful and typical fare, always substantial amounts.
The only downside was parking which was unlimited in/out privileges at $52/night which was expensive but probably par for the neighborhood and safe considering there is a homeless population about.
Would return.

It’s expensive for sure, but the rooms and public spaces are in immaculate condition, the AC is perfect, and the showers even have a touch of luxury. There is no view to speak of and the complimentary breakfast is not quite on par with other Hamptons, but it is within a shouting distance of a metro station and just a few blocks from the Santa Monica pier which you can almost see from the front door. Busses also run right outside, and there’s an Enterprise rent a car some blocks away (ask for Kyle, he’s a hero in our books). Lots of Ubers around too.

We didn’t mind the lack of a view even from a higher floor, or the somewhat lackluster breakfast. My only small gripe is that they automatically opt you out of housekeeping so if you arrive after 5 PM you won’t get any housekeeping the next day. For a hotel that costs as much as it does per night I think this is just lousy service. That’s a small thing, but again not something you want discover when returning to the room late at night.

We chose this location for easy access to the Santa Monica pier on foot and straightforward access to the Pacific Coast Highway by car. We loved both options. The metro was also surprisingly convenient for accessing Hollywood and even the Griffith Observatory (we rode the Dash bus for the last leg).

There are plenty of shops and restaurants around. There’s a mall just a few blocks towards the beach and we were lucky enough to come across a food fare just a few blocks away from the hotel. Try Loulou for great pizza. Our son also loved the game arcade on the pier, which turned out to be pretty affordable.

All in all we had a great time here and would stay here again.

We used the valet parking during our 2 night visit, which was very expensive at 55 dollars per night. ( the underground car park was virtually empty!! ) we asked for a quiet room and were allocated 503 - we could still hear some honking of horns and late night motorbikes, but it was ok. The main problem for us was the huge amount of homeless, tramps, drunks and drug abusers literally lying on the pavements! Right outside the hotel lobby. I would never come to Santa Monica again. In the 20 mins we were outside the hotel walking to the sea and back, we were asked 5 times for food or money and had to step over bodies at 6.30 pm in the evening. This is terrible- I felt shocked, and it’s terrible that this situation is continuing. Everyone is walking around ignoring this! The hotel employs permanent security staff and the hotel lobby is locked at all times. I appreciate these measures, but I’m sad that the situation isn’t being resolved, however complicated.The breakfast was a bit busy and chaotic, but the staff are working hard, and the food was ok, of acceptable standard. The room was very clean, sort of basic, no carpets, just Lino. There was no view even from the 5 th floor- just a wall quite close! The room was big, and so was the bathroom.

The hotel was clean and well run. Matt at the reception desk and Keven were very helpful with my extension dates. They made sure that my room was free of sprays and chemicals since I have allergies. They were always agreeable and pleasant. Michael B. at the valet car service always had a smile and helped me out with my car rental when I didn’t know how to turn on the radio and computer.

I stayed at this locations for several weeks while working on the CA Fire Response. During my stay, I got to know the amazing staff at this location and wanted to give them all a shout out for their fantastic customer service. The front desk and support staff that I got to know included Maritza and Darlene that always chatted with me after a long day, Claribell, Kevin, Aaron Matt and Alicia thank you all so much for your kindness and patience with all of us responders in your lobby all the time! My room was always very clean and here’s a shoutout to Philly for his assistance with my fridge, when it stopped working he had it replaced in under 30min. What a great staff you have at this hotel, I’d recommend it to anyone traveling to the Bay Area!

I work in the airline industry and stay in many branded hotel rooms on a regular basis. I booked this hotel for the Hilton name as I feel overall safe and cared for at their properties. My partner and I traveled to Santa Monica so my elderly mother didn't need to travel alone from Florida to visit a friend of hers. She stayed with her friend while we freely discovered the Santa Monica area! Santa Monica downtown area was lovely but the hotel was a disappointment. The area approaching the hotel lacks a feeling of safety & comfort and the very loud train station across the street caused consistent noise. I will acknowledge good communication through the phone app with an easy check in and verbal explanation of the neighborhood with the front desk. I had upgraded the room as I wished for a balcony since my partner was celebrating her birthday that day and I wished for it to be an extra nice stay. The room which was a suite was very plain and lacked any warmth. The balcony was awful. I've checked out their website since and they show nice furnishings on the balcony with a welcoming look. The balcony we got had one loveseat size couch on it tucked in a corner. The couch had stains much like a couch in a fraternity would look like. We chose not to even sit upon it. Otherwise the balcony was completely bare. Very disappointing! Hot water was lacking during our stay. Showers were uncomfortable and quick at best. We tried both early and later in the morning for a hot shower; neither time afforded one. The keyless entry to the hotel failed one day for several hours and were told we needed to use the secondary entry. The breakfast was acceptable and status quo for a Hampton. The pool area and hot tub were nice though the hot tub needs resurfacing. I was disappointed to be charged $7 for a large bottle of water from their small reception area shop when right down the street is a Trader Joes with 16 oz bottles of water for .49 cents. On-site laundry was $3.50 per load for a wash and the same for a dry. The staff was very helpful when items were requested. Overall, should another visit be had to the area, we will be staying elsewhere. I feel like what I signed up for us was not received.

My husband, adult son and I stayed at this property for 5 nights and had mixed feelings about the experience. The walls of the hotel are not up to the standards of Hilton and we heard the people above us at all hours of the night. We were not told at check in that it is the policy of the hotel to only clean rooms upon request. We requested housekeeping once we realized this, yet our room was cleaned only twice during our stay. The shampoo and body wash was never filled in our shower. We told the front desk when we requested that our room be cleaned, but they did not fill them. When I asked the housekeeper in the hallway for soap and body wash, she said that I needed to ask the front desk. A circle of bad service. I requested both at the front desk and they gave me shampoo, but said they did not have body wash. The front desk is not very friendly and will make you wait to be addressed while they are chatting with each other. No smiles. No good mornings. Very odd for a Hampton Inn. I always felt like I was bothering them when I approached the desk.

The valet staff is excellent, especially Nadir. They are attentive and friendly. I was impressed with their professionalism.

The location of the hotel is great. Convenient to the beach and the Promenade.

We are Hilton Honors members and stay exclusively at Hilton properties whenever possible. They are dependable and consistent, but are always missing the small details that would bring them to great in my opinion. Service is always excellent and property is always well maintained. The details that are consistently missing: GOOD COFFEE, lighted magnified makeup mirror, nice fluffy towels and lots of them, more than one bar of soap, extra pillows. At this hotel we had three pillows, if you are going to sit up and read you need at least four. There was not a single wash cloth so I used a large towel to wash my face. Only one bar of soap and no shower gel so the soap travelled from sink to shower a few times. No top sheet on the bed so we were sleeping directly under the quilt, kind of creepy wondering if they wash the quilt after every guest. This hotel had excellent security which I appreciated because the neighborhood is a bit sketchy. You could not enter the hotel at all or use the restrooms in the lobby without a hotel key. If you didn’t have a key the receptionist would have to buzz you in. Valet parking only and expensive at $49, but worth it for convenience and safety. I did not take advantage of the pool or breakfast, but nice that they have them.

No hot water in room
Lots of homeless people surrounding the hotel
Not children friendly
Uncomfortable beds
Hotel management was not very helpful, welcoming or kind to us

When we arrived there was no hot water in the room, after a 16 hour flight. They tried to fix it for two hours and didn’t really manage to fix the situation.
Only the next day they switched our room.
Beds where so uncomfortable we couldn’t sleep, our stay was two weeks in this hotel and we thought they might do more to help us feel comfortable but they couldn’t really care less

There where protests by hotel staff on strike waking us up in the mornings early

No one really tried to do everything to solve the situation

the service received in this hotel was very disappointing. I booked two rooms for two nights (for a total of $2000, which can be understandable being in Santa Monica). After the first night, the cleaning service did not pass in both rooms (you can imagine the great inconvenience especially in the bathroom without towels) after reporting it immediately to the reception (at checkout) I was simply told that the service is not automatic, and to "apologize" they offered me a day of free parking. Avoid this hotel!

"The closets are small and there’s no microwave in the room, which is inconvenient. But the gym and pool areas are very clean and nice. "
