On our way to Pinnacles National Park, we stayed at this lovely Best Western Signature property on a very slow Wednesday night in November. Our king room was nicely furnished, including coffee maker, refrigerator and microwave. The large courtyard is filled with olive trees, decorated with twinkling lights at night -- probably great for parties. Unfortunately, the breakfast buffet was mediocre—lukewarm fried eggs and sausage at 7 a.m., cheap breakfast pastries, no toast, and a stack of old oranges and apples. Maybe it was because the inn had so few guests but we didn’t see staff around at breakfast or for the morning check out.

We love this hotel. We came here for a weekend to visit our family in Hollister. The other hotels in the Hollister area are so over priced and unimpressive. So, we decided to take a chance on this hotel and we are so glad that we did.
It is located across the highway from the downtown area of San Juan Bautista. And even though it was kind of near the highway, it did not seem that way.
The room felt clean and spacious. It had everything we needed. Refrigerator, microwave, TV that had a hook-up to connect to our computer so we could watch Netflix.
Other amenities were the wine tasting in the evening, the fire pit complete with pillows, the free breakfast, and the amazing customer service. We also enjoyed that the courtyard had a bunch of trees that were all lit up at night time. It was so pretty.
Cathy was so nice and really went out of her way to be sure everything was just perfect for our stay. The other staff was also extremely nice.
I liked that it is part of the Choice hotel group but it was a cut above any of the other hotels we have seen in that chain. We were very very pleasantly surprised by this hotel. They surpassed our expectations and we will definitely return and recommend it to others!

We had a great stay at the Hacienda de Leal. The rooms were tastefully furnished, held all the needed amenities (coffee maker, microwave, refrigerator), and the heater worked very efficiently. The grounds were beautiful, especially lit up at night, and the hotel was perfectly situated for touring San Juan Bautista town and mission, touring Pinnacles National Monument, as well as hiking Juan Bautista de Anza National Historic Trail and Fremont Peak located right behind the hotel.
But what made the stay special was the great service, especially from front manager Janine Almeida, who personally took care of us, including a late night request for extra blankets and a last day late checkout accommodation. The good vibes of the hotel motivated us to go to the nearby Leal Vineyard and its beautiful grounds, and we left with a number of delicious bottles. Highly recommended!

I booked 2 rooms for my husband & I and our friends who I had invited to join us as we discovered all the sights in the beautiful area. The location was good, setting nice and our room was fine although we could hear some guests next door having friends visit. Our friend’s were awaken one night by a late arrival along with having had to move rooms since after taking a shower, it leaked so much on the floor that they used up all their bath towels to soak it up. What I was surprised and embarrassed by (as the hotel was selected and paid by me for our friends) was the contents of the “Grab n Go Breakfast’. Literally moldy cut up fruit and a dry bagel. I would suggest they either increase the quality of the breakfast or simply not even offer it as to not disappoint guests.

I have stayed here a few times for a week at a time, out of necessity. I've appreciated many things: the pleasant courtyard, proximity to SJB restaurants, Kathy (Cathy?) at the front desk, easy parking, pillow options, hotel basics (fridge, soap, TV, etc.), cleanliness. My primary complaint is that there is not appropriate lighting in the room. The rooms are very dark, both because there is limited natural light and the artificial lighting is very dim. There are desks in the queen or king rooms but no lamp on or near the desks. Only the king suite has a desk lamp, but it's more of an accent piece and not an effective desk lamp. I had to use my cell phone light to work at my computer after the sun went down. I also took the lampshade off of one lamp and tried to drag the desk near a wall sconce but that didn't do much good. It has made it very hard for me to work from this hotel and reluctant to return. As others have mentioned, there is considerable highway noise, which is out of the hotel's control but good to know if you're a light sleeper. You can also hear your neighbors, particularly if you are near a staircase. If you are put in a room with an internal door to an adjoining room, you can hear EVERYTHING through that door (talking, music, snoring...). I want to love this hotel, but it's just okay.

Very poor guest service. 30 minutes after check in, we requested to be moved to a top floor room to prevent our dog growling at passerbys in the courtyard and were told by the manager that it was not possible because they are sold out and have no one available to clean our room. On the way back to our room, I passed no less than 3 house keepers dutifully cleaning rooms.

The evening front desk clerk was very polite and accommodating. The large courtyard, full of olive trees strung with lights, was gorgeous. The room was clean and spacious. We loved the Illy coffee maker and capsules, and the real earthenware espresso cup and saucer was a lovely touch. The window lock and lever for the drain plug were both very sticky and difficult to manipulate. The heavy desk was poorly placed, right up against the window, so it needed to be moved each time we wanted to reach the window. The glass door of the shower stall was stylish, but unfortunately failed to prevent all the water from escaping. We expected a better breakfast from the BW Signature Collection, but at least the tea selection was excellent.

A friend and I stayed here on a road trip. We took a chance since we had never been through the area. We were really pleased with the large, nicely decorated rooms and the lovely courtyard with hundreds of twinkling lights at night. We felt very welcomed by Reema, the general manager. She is friendly and engaging and made us feel welcome the minute we arrived. We appreciated her hospitality, the fun and engaging conversations, and the helpful suggestions re activities and things to do in the area. We both enjoyed our stay and recommend Hacienda de Leal.

Hotel is charming but the staff made the trip amazing. They were friendly and helpful.
Kathie was such a delight. She made my elderly sister relax and feel comfortable as a hotel stay is usually out of her element.
Emma and Gabriela also took such interest in all our needs. They were both wonderful . Excellent customer service.
The room was spacious and clean. The bathroom was spotless. The outside area was delightful.

With fires literally kicking everyone out of their homes this has become a little oasis. I’m impressed by Luis and Janine. I have never witnessed two people hustle around like they do. They have been tending to all of us here with smiles, jokes and just good old company. Janine, the way you are with the kids...thank you. Literally talking to them and telling them that it’s going to be ok....they all talk so fondly of you like you’re their big sister. Even the adults love talking with her because of her empathy and her ability to make people feel like family. I appreciate this so much. Luis, helping my husband with our reservations and talking us through everything was bringing us major peace of mind. Nick, thank you for your kindness. It’s been such a hard time on all of us, and today was our last day. We will come back under better circumstances but to us, you are now all family. Thank you for being there for us.
