The rooms were a decent size, there was no good view from the window and I overlooked this matter. I liked and used the gas fireplace, and stepped into the large jacuzzi! It had a small refrigerator and freezer and I utilized this as well. The bed was made well with crisp linen sheets. The lobby was nice, and outside the corridors were a variety of indoor plants. Upon getting up in the morning they had a continental breakfast with several choices of breakfast items. The room had 2 complimentary water bottles and chocolate pieces. Fruits, juices, milk, waffles you can make and heat on your own, yogurts, pastries, and much more! The grounds were well kept and maintained with succulents, plumerias and other beautiful plants.

The hotel was within walking distance from the Mission of San Juan Bautista and a short walking distance from the bakery, restaurants, and other shops! Overall I enjoyed my stay! Our families also loved it! It was not far from the ocean, maybe a 20 minute drive!

My boyfriend and I stayed at the Posada de San Juan last weekend and had a lovely time. After reading the two reviews on tripadvisor, we were hesitant, but found the Posada to be a charming inn. I agree that $108 is a bit steep; I wouldn't say that our stay was a terrific value, but I also wouldn't say that we were robbed.

The room was very clean and the tub was as wonderful as the previous review stated. The fireplace was a nice touch, but don't get too excited about relaxing before a romantic flame; it's gas, which means that it gives off a low-level purplish glow. A good but not great continental breakfast was included, which we didn't know about in advance, so that was a pleasant surprise. The staff were helpful and hospitable, but not obsequious, which was just fine by me, as I can't stand it when employees fall all over themselves in a phony way. The 4 pm check-in and the 11 am check-out is a bit unorthodox, but we arrived at 2 and they let us check-in early at no charge. They also let us keep our car in their parking lot after we checked out.

The true joy of this place is its location. San Juan Bautista is such a cute little town and we really appreciated staying right in the heart of it. From our room, we heard the roosters that roam the streets, saw the hills that surround the town (sort of), and almost smelled the enchiladas and chile rellenos cooking at the many Mexican restaurants around town.

In short: if you want and are expecting the Ritz, skip the Posada and the town it's in; if you want a relaxing getaway with small-town charm and some California history, this will do it!

We visited the Posada with our Hiking Club. On the plus, the staff was friendly and the hotel is within a short walk to the Mission and fairly reasonably priced. The room was comfortable and clean. On the negative the ice machine was broken, the TV in the room very small and half of the channels were in Spanish. We reported a toilet in the men's room that was about to overflow. The desk person said they'd look into it but it ended up overflowing, sending water all the way to the lobby. Breakfast was somewhat disjointed. Would prefer coffee in the room.

From the moment we stepped into this hotel, we knew we were in for a treat! My experience at Posada de Sau Juan Batista was nothing short of exceptional.
The staff greeted us with warm smiles and impeccable hospitality, making us feel right at home from the start. Our check-in process was smooth and efficient, thanks to their attentive front desk team.
The staff worked hard to accommodate my team’s needs for the events we held over the weekend, setting up different layouts of chairs for each event.
Upon entering my room, I was blown away by the authentic decor and attention to detail. The room was not only clean but also tastefully furnished with amenities that ensured our comfort throughout our stay. Some of the highlights were the jetted jacuzzi and double showerheads. I also appreciated that they offered gluten free options such as hard boiled eggs, fruit and yogurt for the continental breakfast.
The location of the hotel was also perfect for exploring the adorable town, with convenient access to nearby attractions.
Overall, our time at Posada de Sau Juan Batista was unforgettable, thanks to the exceptional service, luxurious accommodations, and historical vibe. We cannot wait to return and highly recommend this hotel to anyone seeking a truly wonderful experience.

This is a really cute hotel. If you use your imagination, you can imagine you are in mexico
at a hacienda back in the day. This hotel is family owned and operated and the ladies that were running it did an awesome job.The room was spotless and every effort was made to make us comfortable. The in room fireplace was charming and awesome. this is a romantic place if you are that type of couple. They provided a continental breakfast, which was adequate. They have waffle makers and fruit, packaged danish, yogurt, hard boiled eggs and oatmeal. It’s not a large selection, but , it’s enough. We love this place and would definitely come back.

Stayed overnight for a quick weekend getaway. This hotel is beautiful, charming and relaxing. Flowers cover the outside. Plants, decorations and a waterfall inside. There are several places both inside and outside to just sit and relax. It was an easy walk to the town through the hotel. Breakfast was clean and filling with waffles, fruit, coffee, juice etc. I can’t wait to go back! The price was really good too for a weekend.

We live locally and have had family choose to stay at both hotels in San Juan Bautista when they come to visit. After a not so great interaction with the other Hotel, which is removed from downtown across HWY 156, they said Posada De San Juan is hands down the better option.

The Posada De San Juan is located in the heart of San Juan Bautista. It's an easy walk to the charming downtown shops, restaurants, and Mission. The rooms are spacious and clean. The lobby area is comfortable and inviting with a generous breakfast in the morning. The Staff is attentive, friendly, knowledgeable and invested in the rich history of San Juan Bautista.

The Owners take pride in their hotel and give back to the community as a whole. They are an integral part of the betterment of San Juan. The other Hotel feels simply like an investment, a way to make money.

If you want a relaxing boutique hotel experience, the Posada De San Juan is the perfect stay.

This is a charming hotel in the middle of San Juan Bautista. We stayed there a few years ago, but at that time the rooms were dated and needed some improvement. We were pleasingly surprised this time to see that the rooms have been renovated, with comfortable new mattresses and even a gas fireplace in the room. This hotel has character, and sits in the middle of town within walking distance to restaurants etc.
We wholeheartedly recommend this hotel now.

Mary gave us options for 3 rooms, allowing us to try the beds out to make sure that they were firm enough. We had all of the amenities that we could possibly need including the jacuzzi tub, double shower, fireplace and refrigerator. She brought us ice because we mentioned needing to ice an ankle/heel. She also brought us a hair dryer because we forgot ours. We can't say enough about the cleanliness of the room, the service and the perfect location. We highly recommend this wonderful gem and we will definitely be back.

La Posada de San Juan was a nice gem in a small charming town with lots of California history. This hotel was located right near the Mission and the small downtown area. It has the feel of a Mexican inn with a pretty welcoming lobby, bright atriums and small fountains. It was very clean and the grounds were nicely landscaped. The room was very large with a fireplace, balcony, large jacuzzi tub and comfortable bed. The continental breakfast had varied foods to choose ,given the COVID restrictions. The staff were friendly and helpful. This was a very comfortable, charming place to stay for our visit to Pinnacles National Park
