Although more affordable than other hotels of the area this was the least satisfactory of all our stays during a week in california. The mattress was covered in plastic which made me sleep very hot. The free breakfast was of only fair quality but was plentiful. The breakfast room could only accommodate about 7 people maximum and was very cramped at that level. Our room failed to have a hair dryer and it took a day for staff to find us one. Traffic in front of the hotel was heavy in mornings and evenings making access challenging. The room was normally functional other than these complaints.

No one is at the front desk, you need to ring a doorbell several times for anyone to help check in or anything. They didn't say anything about no food until I went to get breakfast and there is a sign up hidden in a corner saying they are not serving breakfast. Well they need to at least tell customers that or take a few dollars off the bill. When I went to check out at 8:30 no one was in the office. Waited 5 minutes and rang the bell several times, but no one showed up. The fridge in the room is so old that when it turns on it shakes the tv.

We stayed here for one night as part of a road trip. We arrived and the staff were nice at checking and everything seemed fine. We went to our room which was by some noisy vending machines. The rooms had an odd smell to it so we turned on the aircon. Later that even we found cookie wrappers in the bedside locker and a dirty greasy pizza box in the dresser. It was obvious that this room had not been cleaned properly which made us concerned for the rest of the cleanliness. On checkout we informed the staff of the room and they said they would pass it on the manager. We never heard back (3 weeks later). We even filled in the survey they sent out and got no response form that. Very disappointing.

i like to spoil myself once a month by getting a room to enjoy being alone in a luxurious hotel, great service. I called to make a reservation, and i could almost see the smile on pinky"s face as she greeted me. Check in was quick and the front desk agent was Dave; who was very accommodating. As i entered the room, i could smell a clean crisp scent of what seemed to be flowers in spring. Everything was in its place and very clean. Im an owner of a maid service, so i look at everything. I had a question regu as reguarding a chanel on the tv, so ag a in.....Dave was very helpful. I slept like a baby on the king size bed, and awoke to a nutritious breakfast down in the breakfast room. The front desk guy +tall and bald) worked at night with tall bald head was rude when I asked the thermostat on the wall not turning on. He replied rudely. I tried many times before I even called him. He said 'if you do not know how to use phone, how to turn on TV and thermostat you should not book the room. I do n't have time to go to your room" . I was shocked. And he came to room using abusive language and intimidating "what is this, now it is working " wow!! I did not feel safe there already and checked out middle of the night. He refused to give mr the receipt and said " why did you book here" . I just ignored him and came to different hotel. It was a nightmare.

I made a reservation to stay at the Quality Inn in Salinas, CA; located at 144 Kern St | Salinas, CA, 93905, US.
Our arrival to the hotels started off horrible. My family and I could not check in due to no one manning the front desk, the hotel lobby was closed.
We waited 40 minutes for someone to come out and open the front lobby, where there are signs stating 24 hours services. I would also like to add we were not the only family waiting to be checkin in. Our arrival time was 1:30am. When the receptionist did come out she stated if her boyfriend wasn't parked out front in his car, and saw us in front of the lobby she wouldn't have come out. it was cleary visible she was woken from her sleep.
I did call on Wednesday to let the front desk know I would be checking in late.
It was the most awful feeling to wait out front of a lobby not knowing how to check in. I had called the front desk using the number listed on the window with no answer. I had never experienced this before.
My family was not at ease once in the room. there were : hug stains on the floor the only chair in the room also was stained I found chewed blue gum on the floor. there were a trail of black ants on the only counter the beds looked like they had been laid in The door leading outside wasn't secure the tub would not drain. there was also brown stains on the walls to the restroom the mini fridge was corroded and didn't not close well the tv did not work
My daughter had vomited a little and I had cleaned her face with a hand towel. That dirt towel was placed on the floor of the bathroom area to be picked up and the hotel cleaning staff hung the dirty vomited towel back up!
My family and I ended up checking out 1 day early due to the disgusting circumstances. When I was checking out the lady at the front desk was the rudest hostess i have ever encountered. i told her why i was checking out however she didn't care for the news and did not apologize for the inconvenience. She had the poorest customer service. I also asked for the supervisor's name and she would not give it to me.

A friend of mine stayed at the hotel and had a very terrible experience with an extremely ableist manager who gaslit and tried to dismiss their chronic pain experience. They asked for a plug for the bathtub for their pain management and were rudely denied. It was meant to be an accessible room yet there were no accommodations made. This violates all disability-related laws. I demand that the manager (probably Neil - who also lied about his name) be fired or that my friend get a refund. He worked on the front desk at 4 am on Jan 3rd.

I was a little hesitatant to stay when I read the earlier reviews, but relented when I saw the newer reviews. What I found was a nice, clean room at a good price. Mini Fridge and microwave in room. The beds are hard for my taste, and it is close to the 101, so there is traffic noise. The breakfast is what you would expect at a Quality Inn, waffles, pastries, cereal, etc. The staff is good, kind people, who were very concerned about my stay. They greeted me by name, and would ask if I needed anything. If you are traveling on a budget, this is a good place to stay in Salinas.

Price doesn’t justify the quality. The motel is loud, dirty and is in need of renovation. It doesn't meet the 'Quality Inn' standard.
If you pay cash check the receipt! In my case it was an empty form without amount for the stay. E-mails to the manager in this respect remains unanswered. A reminder mail ended up with the blocking/blacklisting of my e-mail adress.
Conclusion: I got no valid receipt, my payed stay was cancelled by the motel, I got no points for my Choice account and the motel manager is not reachable - neither by e-mail nor by phone.

This property offers location and a decent room for those wanting an affordable place within 30 mins drive of Monterey. I was able to Priceline the property at the last minute and called the hotel to request a room with 2 Queen beds.
Manager on duty was incredibly rude on the phone and adamant that we had to pay a $15 upgrade fee (on the verge of extortion) per room to get 2 queens. Priceline guarantees a room for 2 people. In the end I was not interested in arguing.
Rooms were ok, breakfast adequate. As others mentioned this place is only good for one night. If you book online via Hotwire, Priceline or other sites and require 2 Queens or a King then be prepared for an unpleasant upgrade charge.
Oh and don't count on the free wifi which was not working during our stay. Manager suggested we call tech support but that is not how I intended to send my time!
