this is defiantly a HOTEL not a motel. When we got there the staff was really friendly. they let us know about the property. they offered Pool towels upon request. the pool was heated and indoors. the rooms were very clean and spacious. they also provided make up remover wipes in the room which was very in expected, there was extra blankets and pillows in the dresser. food was close by and we were less then 15 minutes from the aquarium. We will defiantly be staying there again and have already told our friends and family :)

This was a great place for a good price. It was very clean and we especially liked that the toilets were not as short or low as other places we have stayed. For anyone older with knee or hip problems this is super accommodating. The pool was really enjoyable too.

We chose El Castell as an affordable option for a quick stop on a road trip. It completely exceeded our expectations! Very clean, spacious, and comfortable. Everything seemed new and updated. The woman who checked us in went above and beyond in making us feel welcomed and giving us recommendations for the area. Bravo!

We came for an event at the fairgrounds. It was a very short walk to the fair grounds so we did not have to move our car. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. The room was very clean. Our room had a mini frig, microwave, Kerig, television, king size bed and a small closet. The wood floors were a nice surprise. The bathroom had a tub/shower.
We did not use the enclosed pool but we saw families enjoying it.
I wish there was more outdoor seating, we would have enjoyed sitting outside our room to enjoy the cool weather. It also would be nice if they had a coffee pot in the front office or pool/ seating area so the early risers could enjoy their coffee without waking up everyone in the room.
It was mush nicer than I expected and I would definitely come back again.

We went deep sea fishing with friends that camped at the fairgrounds so this was our best option, walking distance. We have stayed here before. The rooms have been updated and are very clean. Parking can be a little tight at times but all in all a nice place. Good restaurants close by. Staff were very friendly. They have an indoor pool and a washing machine and dryer so we came home with all our clothes clean.

Our stay was very comfortable and clean . Excellent location. booked the room last min with no problem. Excellent staff very organized. I would definitely recommend this business to anyone. I really enjoyed our stay at El Castelle. The front desk person was very pleasant and helpful. Our room was clean, bright and newly renovated. The bed was very comfortable. We especially enjoyed the convenient parking and how very quiet the hotel was. Although the room was small it was comfortable and fully met our needs. Kurig coffee, microwave and fridge were provided. I would definitely stay again as it was a very good value

This motel is a good choice if you're visiting the Monterey/Carmel area. Our double queen room was very clean and had plenty of room. The staff was accommodating and friendly. Location is good. Price is comparable to, and in some cases better than, other stays in the area.
The only reason for 4 rather 5 stars: very small television for size of room. After a day of sightseeing and walking, we enjoy watching a movie or tv show and a small television isn't very good for that. But we would stay again.

"Half of the rooms are facing the car park and the other half is towards some other houses. If this is important to you you should ask for a room either way. We had rooms facing away from the car park and that was fairly quite, definitely quite enough to leave the windows open, which we prefer over air conditioning."Read full review
