My husband and I went to the Omni Rancho Las Palmas for a relaxing overnight stay - and boy did it deliver! Our check-in was smooth (as was our check out). The staff was friendly, courteous, and professional. The facilities - gym, adults-only pool, and bar - were enjoyable. Our room was clean and the bed was very comfortable. We will definitely be back (hopefully for a longer stay next time).

We visited this weekend for my nephew’s birthday and my overall opinion is that this would be a great place to visit during normal times, not necessarily during COVID, depending on your comfort level. The grounds were gorgeous, clean and very well kept. I thought it was a nice touch that they had the remote and a pen in a sealed bag saying it had been sanitized on the nightstand.
We were able to check in ahead of the 4pm check in time, which was very convenient. We booked a pool view room on the first floor so that we could walk out to the pool. This room type was more expensive than the others, so we were very disappointed to learn that all of the pool gates were closed except the main entrance to control the number of people entering the pool.
Upon check-in, we were given wrist bands for our allotted pool time. They have the pool slots broken down into 4 hour increments (which doesn’t do much to control crowds, apparently.) However, they offered that if we needed a wristband for another time, we could check for availability. It became very clear once we arrived at the pool that they weren’t really enforcing the wristbands/time restrictions at all. The lazy river and main pool were packed and barely anyone wore masks anywhere except for inside the common buildings as required. The pools are closed from 1-2 each afternoon for cleaning. The lazy river and slides are lots of fun for the kids and adults, too.
We decided to order breakfast ahead and go pick up our food to eat on the balcony. Upon picking up the order, one of our entrees was missing, so we had to wait for that to be prepared while the rest of our food got cold. Then when we checked our bill, we noticed that a 10% take out charge was added to the bill. There was no mention of this when ordering and you’d think they would offer to refund that due to their mistake in missing one of our items.
We ordered food and drinks by the pool the first day and had a cabana on the second day. The servers were excellent, very attentive, friendly and helpful. The food and drinks were subpar for the price, so we ended up ordering dinner from local restaurants both evenings.

My family and I recently stayed in a walk out pool room.

Check in was seamless and very friendly.

The pool and the kids lazy river area are fantastic. We never had a problem finding chairs. Poolside food service is EXCELLENT, specifically a server named Jacob! The food (at the lazy river) exceeded expectations.

Food at Blu Ember however, was pretty darn unappealing. I had the steak (zero flavor other than char), my partner had the chicken (soggy and wet). Service was good, however I'd skip it for dinner and head off property. The kids menu was absolutely terrible!

We ultimately did not utilize the golf cart concierge service, because they never showed up. We called on our first night because my child though it would be fun. We waited about 15 minutes and then finally just walked to the valet. He apologized, but didn't seem surprised that we bailed.

The biggest issue I have with this hotel is the cleanliness, or lack of housekeeping. Our room was actually dirty when we arrived. Hairs (both long and short) were on the floor of the bathroom and in the tub. Long dark hairs were embedded in the towels and there were urine spots on the toilet. Thankfully, I had a bazillion wipes with me since we traveled during flu season and I simply took care of it myself. Super gross.

We stayed for two nights and housekeeping did not come to service our room one time. Not once.

For an Omni property the lack of housekeeping and the cleanliness of our room was absolutely unacceptable.

With all that said, I would stay again if we ever found ourselves in that area again, however I definitely won't keep quiet about the housekeeping issues next time.

We don't typically stay in resorts so weren't sure what to expect but were pleasantly surprised and found our stay to be mostly great.

The lazy river and all of Splashtopia is awesome for all ages. Both adults had a blast floating around (and around and around) the lazy river and our 4 year old spent the entire day floating, splashing in the shallow pool, or digging in the sand.

The cabanas are lovely and well worth the price. Misters, ceiling fans, 12 bottles of cold water, fruit platter, 2 drinks PLUS all day access make the cabanas a must. Otherwise, you get a wrist band good for 4 hours and have to make sure you are at the pool at 9am or 2pm on the dot if you want any hope of getting even one chair.

We had a thunderstorm come through so the pools were all closed down early which was kind of a bummer. We were offered either a partial refund on our cabana OR a wrist band for general pool access (not a cabana) for our departure day. Feels like we should have received both as it seemed like half the people there in the morning had received departure day wristbands but had not been in a cabana. Not great but it is what it is.

Since we were traveling during covid, we loved the fact the the rooms all has exterior facing doors, rather than having to go through a lobby and/or in an elevator. We opted out of housekeeping for our stay, apparently the hotel will donate for Feed America if you opt out which i though was pretty great.

The food options were pretty limited and there in no in-room dining offered, we picked up from the resort restaurant and drove back to our building/room.

All in all a great, easy, family-friendly stay. If the kid has any say in it, we will for sure be back.

We were close to canceling our trip, but after contacting the property several times regarding there Covid procedures I felt reassured and we decided to go. It was a big mistake. At check-in, there was a group of people hanging out in the lobby without masks, the pool area was extremely crowded even though they insured me they were operating at 40% capacity. Further, after concerns about the a/c on cruise ships spreading the virus from room to room, had inquired about shared airflow between units and was told every room has their own a/c. However, they placed us in a room with a connecting door and we noticed draft coming from our neighbors’ room whenever their a/c was running, so we ultimately were sharing their air without filtration.
The Omni staff was very accommodating and moved us to another room as well as letting us check out early. However, I wish some more thought would have been put into creating a more safe environment.

We decided to get away for a couple of days. I did some research and found Omni. We have been to Palm Springs plenty of times, but this time we have a 2 year old and a 2 month old that we need to consider where we stay. I found Omni had good reviews for pools area. So we decided to book, and I'm glad I did. I had a question when booking online so I called them, and I'm glad I did. I was connected Patrice and we provided excellent customer service on helping me book the room. She thought of everything we would need when traveling with kids. She made special request for us and they were a big help, from extra pillows to additional towels too. When we arrived we got a down stairs room with a view of the golf coarse. The one complain about the room was the carpet, but you have to consider your surroundings. My family was walking with out shoes or sandals in the room, and after a couple of minutes our feet were dirty. I did ask house keeping about this, and they mentioned that it does get dirty very quickly with the pool and also the golf coarse. People come back to room with dirty shoes and walk all over the carpet. I was told that they do clean the carpets every 3 weeks. But over all the room was great. The pool area was great too, and the food! We ate from the 2 restaurants on the property. The first one was Splash Grill, man that food was delicious. Then on the last day we had the Cafe, that food was also good. I do have to say that the prices are a little high, but you have to consider the convenience of ordering instead of having to leave the property to get food. Which right across the street you can walk or drive to get food. There are plenty of options right across the street. Over all we will definitely come back. My son loved the lazy river and he's only 2!

I can only say the housekeeping service and transportation service is at a professional level. When I first checked in with my wife for a Valentines Weekend. I was greeted with a smile and professional courtesy. We then went to our room and it was in a pretty quiet place. This is the calm before the storm I like to call it. When we went to check out I wanted to use my Gift card that my sister had given me. The young lady at the front desk Juanita said she could only apply to what was not charged for the hotel stay. This is the same young lady that told us earlier in the week that we could only apply our gift card at check out to apply towards our hotel stay. So I tried to explain to her that when someone is given a gift card they want to use it against the whole hotel charge. Not to be used for the room service that was ordered during the stay. It was quite evident she was no ware how policy works when redeeming a gift card. I said I wished to speak to a manager. She said one moment sir and I then met a women that felt she was a genius and everyone else was beneath her. She was trying to explain to me that one the credit card is charged only incidentals can be used for the hotel charges. I said that was incorrect and she just smirked and said I did not understand the bill. I then told her any where in the world accepts a gift card and deducts it from the hotel stay - room rate and taxes - gift card. She once again told me I was incorrect but for this one time she would back out all my charges and then reapply them and subtract the amount of the gift card. While she was doing this task I could here another guest was complaining on how after the hotel lost his reservation and rented his families room to someone else they accommodated the guest with a suite. But when the guest was checking out the same young lady Juanita explained that the hotel had to charge for the suite price. Not charge the guest for the normal room rate since the hotel made the mistake. There were several other guests in line that were checking out and there were no smiles. I hope I have helped someone down the road that reads this and does have to go through the same experience I had to with my wife. None of the women at the front desk understand basic accounting. But they think they do. They could not explain to me how debits and credits worked on a checkout receipt. It took us 45 minutes to check out there is no express check out service at this hotel. It used to be Rancho Los Pamas Hotel. Celebrities in the 70s used to stay there. Now it is run down and my room was 750.00 a night. I would like a refund for the time I had to wait in line and almost missed a very important meeting for my job.

Had a reservation for outside seating at
bluEmbers restaurant on Thanksgiving.
When I made the reservation a menu was available for ordering separate dinner options i.e. appetizer, main meal, then of course dessert. When we arrived we were told we signed up for their banquet room for $85 per person, indoor seating in a conference room! We were so disappointed, not offered the outdoor seating as requested as they were "totally booked" even though several empty tables were available. Got the feeling if we had provided the maitre d a reasonable tip we might have gotten a table outside.
Not playing that game. We found a table at "Eight4nine" w/o a reservation, awesome outdoor patio and exquisite Thanksgiving dinner!

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay here and felt safe. Though I opted out of housekeeping due to Covid, the staff was nice enough to check in to see if I needed anything. Though social distancing was not enforced at the pools, I appreciated that they were monitoring the number of guests and enforced cleaning twice a day. Good selection of food and drinks poolside though I wish they offered the same at the adult pool. The hotel shows signs of age but still well-kept all around. Don’t mind staying again.

This is not my first time or first issue with the omni. After many room issues , checkin issues , and food issues over the years we actually have it a break for a couple of years. However, one thing you can’t beat is the pool and the location. This summer I convinced a friend to spend the $500 (a night) rate with me so we could take our kids. As usual the pool did not disappoint. But, the rooms are just so disgusting!!! My bed didn’t have a fitted sheet, instead just a mattress cover and the mattress cover was full of yellow pee stains . We called to have someone come with a clean sheet and pad but they never showed and we just went to bed. The shower glass was full of finger prints and grime, well before we even used the shower . And the bathroom door had sunscreen handprints all over it, clearly it hadn’t been wiped down . I would think due to covid the cleaning would be above and beyond but that wasn’t the case. The desk, lamps, blinds , all covered in an inch of dust. We were in a end room that had an additional window and that window cover was about 2 inches too short on both sides so the sun comes beaming through first thing, enough so to wake us all up. For $500 a night those rooms should be immaculate!!!! My friend was understandably very annoyed by the condition of the room and expressed she’d never pay that much for the rooms. I have honestly seen cleaner Holiday Inn’s. I can’t complain about the pool because as usual it’s always a great time. But we could have had a fun pool experience somewhere else that’s more affordable. When reviewing my bill I noticed a $118 restaurant charge , still not sure what it was but it was thankfully removed , glad I checked . On Sunday I waited 45 minutes for an order of cold fries, and didn’t even get to sign my bill because the server never came back with our waters or check and no, it wasn’t that busy . While in the lazy River on Sunday , I wasn’t feeling well, maybe the heat . So I wanted to keep my water with me, but the lifeguards made me get rid of it. I tried explaining that it was water and I felt like I needed it because I wasn’t feeling well but they wouldn’t budge. In 111 heat your customers should be allowed water on them at all times. Lastly , at the pool on Saturday, a woman was trying to pick fights with everyone. She was yelling and swearing and not a single pool attendant spoke to her or asked her to leave . And yes, someone else did complain as she was making kids very uncomfortable. I had really hoped that after taking a few years break, that we’d come back and there would be some positive changes and cleaner rooms because of covid , but that wasn’t the case . All I can say is , thank god for the fun pool. This will absolutely be my last time giving this hotel a chance .
