The Ritz-Carlton, Rancho Mirage, set on a picturesque hill, garners praise for its breathtaking views and seamless blend with nature. While guests often appreciate the modern and inviting atmosphere, complete with cozy fire pits, opinions on the hotel's value and room quality are mixed. Some guests feel the costs outweigh the experiences and note a discrepancy in room standards, ranging from spacious to outdated.
Although the service receives accolades for friendliness, there are occasional remarks about delays. The hotel's cleanliness and amenities generally earn high marks, contributing to a comfortable stay.

Enjoyed a recent two night stay, one of which included Club Lounge access. Room in building three at the beginning of the hallway was fine but would have preferred a room at the end of the hallway to avoid some noise made by passers by. The courtyard and mountain view was serene. Some of the bath towels were threadbare. Room was in good shape otherwise although power outlets on the nightstands were lacking. Meryl in the lounge took good care of us. The lunch offerings were better than dinner, although the sandwiches weren't always replenished. Soup was excellent. Wine and beer are self service but cocktails are mixed behind the scenes by the attendants. The numerous deep fried items at dinner were disappointing. We enjoyed the outdoor tables and the TV room in the lounge. The adult pool was quiet and service was fine. Would pass on the nachos next time. Front desk staff were top notch. The welcome cocktail was a nice touch. I do wish that self parking was an option as there were items we would have liked to retrieve from the car ourselves.

We just returned from our stay at the Ranch Mirage Ritz, it's a beautiful and relaxing resort. The vistas are amazing and the grounds are well kept as expected from a Ritz property. Every staff member was professional and helpful, especially MJ (one of the hosts in the Club Lounge). MJ was extremely customer service driven, anticipating the needs of each patron in the lounge with grace and kindness...he should be recognized for his high level of service that made the Club Level worthy of the price paid.
There were only two things that disappointed during our stay...
1- The room was so full of furniture that you could hardly move around the bed, and there was no room to store suitcases in the closet. We had an excellent, central view of the mountains and valley on the top floor - but the congested room space was not good. The room needs an update along with the bathroom, it's just time for some modernization. 2- We arrived Memorial Day and the best restaurant on the property "Edge Steakhouse" was closed every day (except one) during our stay. It is only open Thursday, Friday and Saturday. We really wanted to dine here but had other plans on the one day it was open while we were visiting. I feel it should only be closed one or two days during a week so most visitors can have a chance to experience the space which looks incredible when looking from the outside through the massive glass windows.
Overall, we loved this place and will be back. I'll ask for a room with more clearance to move around next time!

Came here for a weekend stay and loved it. The room is spacious and the bathroom is huge with a giant tub. I love how it has a separate shower and a tub. And the toilet is another separate room. Even with 2 queen beds there’s still plenty of space in the room. The whole resort is beautiful with plenty to enjoy. We brought our 3 years old daughter and she enjoyed walking around in the resort and also in the Rita kids club.
In the kids club theres a pool table, foosball, tv, drawing station, restroom, toys and books. Besides the lobby there are 3 other rooms all connected with open space. There are plenty of drawing supplies including markers, crayons, color pencils and giant drawing pad.
We didn’t get to try the edge steakhouse since we didn’t make reservation but we tried the state fare bar and kitchen. We had dinner and breakfast there. For dinner we ordered salmon, tofu pad Thai and mussels. The salmon is wonderful but we didn’t like the tofu pad Thai nor the mussels. We thought the mussels will come in a soup but turned out it’s on a plate with just a few mussels and 2 big toast of bread. And the tofu pad Thai has fried tofu and very wide rice noodle. Totally not what we had in mind when we ordered a pad Thai. The ambience is very nice though. Next time we shall try the steak instead.
The pool is very big and since it’s summer time the water isn’t cold at all. We waited till around 8 to go in and it’s actually not too bad. Even though the temperature is still around 100 but you don’t feel as bad.
The parking is $50 per night and the resort fee is another $50.
There’s a small boutique shop in the resort but with limited food and drink in there. But the room service dining is 24 hours which is very nice.
Over all we had a wonderful stay at the resort and we like it very much. We will definitely be back.

I just checked in last night and I am surprised by the service and the issues with the room I am in. Having stayed at other Ritz Carlton’s, this is definitely subpar. First, I was dismayed that my family was not offered any welcome drink. I’m not sure if having three kids in tow is looked down upon, but the couple next to me without any children were provided with one immediately and we weren’t. Definitely left a bad taste in my mouth to feel like second class citizens. Secondly, as for the room, the HVAC has a terrible clicking sound every time it turns on. As my 7 year old put it, it sounds like the rattling of an old car engine. One of the lights keeps flickering on and off like a haunted house. The rug has an up turned end that is a tripping hazard, which the bell person who pointed this out said he would have someone fix it, was never addressed. It is till sticking up. On top of all this, one of the towels had this strange orangish red stain on it that puts the cleanliness at a big question mark. When we tried to call the front desk, it took us 2-3 attempts to reach someone. They saw that we had children and there was no provision of baby soap until we called for it. The ritz in Singapore and Hong Kong had everything already out and prepared for us upon arrival to the room. No need for us to ask. This Ritz took us multiple attempts to reach someone to ask for it and get it. Not sure if they are short staffed, but definitely expect more from the Ritz. Please consider these things before booking with this ritz.

My 22-year-old son and I drove to Rancho Mirage for one night to visit friends. We found that rates at Ritz Carlton Rancho Mirage were substantially lower on a Sunday night rather than a Saturday night. We booked a room with two queen beds. The room was gorgeous and so quiet. This is truly a luxury resort. The staff is amazing and Ritz does not disappoint in terms of the spirit of hospitality. We can't wait to go back as this was truly a relaxing and beautiful vacation.

We came for a special occasion and first sleepover party for 4 moms and 4 girls ages 5&6. There was confusion during the booking process - this hotel only has adjoining rooms that are a king bed adjoining 2 queens (you cant get queens to queens). The manager Josue and bell man Jim were absolutely incredible and helped us figure it out. The service everywhere impeccable. We loved our waiter and the private room at State Fare. The pool attendants handled umbrellas, drink refills, sampling smoothies and even free popsicles for the kids. The candy cart and toy wagon in the lobby were big hits. Room service made up the fold out for us, and that was our only small hiccup of the stay with a lost order from one of our husbands which came hours late. We ended up in a spa suite room (I think Ritz residences) with a private hot tub, outdoor shower, fire pit and enjoyed making smores. We had the best time!

My husband and I spent 4 days here the second week of July and everyone and everything was wonderful! The facilities were great and the property had a special peacefulness that was so refreshing. A few employees that made our stay Extra special were Mariana in Housekeeping. Every evening she checked on our room and our comfort and she gave us lots of extra goodies, including an amazing box of gummy bears (the Best we have ever had). That really touched us! Thank you Mariana!! And also Chevelle who works so hard at the pool serving ice cold beverages and delicious food. We loved our room #3464? The most beautiful view of the mountains and the valley. At night it was stunning! So relaxing and romantic in every way. ❤️

We stayed four nights here in mid-May 2021 in a ground floor room with a outside fire pit. The room was everything you'd expect at the Ritz although it was small and the tub took up an unnecessary amount of room. There were no bathroom fans which is the standard this day so having a foggy and steamy bathroom will need to be added to your routine. The fire pit was fun and we ordered the S'mores room service which was fun but expensive for what you get.
The hotel was very well kept and we were sad that we couldn't sample the restaurants because of the COVID restrictions. Drinks were available outside and the outside bar was open. We also had breakfast outside and it was lovely.
Cons: Coffee is unavailable before 6:30ish. If you came from the East Coast this was torture. Yes, we had a coffee machine in the room but my husband was usually sleeping in and I didn't want to wake him.
The parking was valet so every morning when I went to Starbucks for coffee I had to get the car brought up and tip the person both leaving and returning. The tips were more than the coffee. We were in and out many times a day so this got to be expensive.
A $30 resort fee was assessed daily. Other than the pools there is nothing 'resorty" in the property.
Pros: Everything is just as you'd expect at the Ritz. The staff was professional and charming and everything we ate or drank was well done.
The views over the valley is spectacular particularly if you're up early enough to see the sunrise.
The pools are well maintained and the water was the perfect temperature. Having the adult only pool was a great way to relax and have quiet time.

It doesn't get much better than this! Having read "the New Gold Standard" a book about Ritz Carlton creating a legendary customer service experience, I wondered can they really live up to all the hype. Could they really pull this off on a day to day routine with regular people like me? Not just the celebrities that may pass their way.
So my wife and I booked a room for one night to celebrate our 45th anniversary and we couldn't be more pleased. To start, using their app, we received notification that our room was ready for us too check in at 10am! Since we only had one night this made a huge difference. To our surprise when we arrived they noted that I had an electric vehicle and offered to charge it for me free of charge! Upon checking in we were offered a to come back after noon to receive a complimentary cocktail. Which we did and it was wonderful.
We enjoyed lunch at the State Fare which surprisingly was not more expensive than many other local places, and had a beautiful shrimp appetizer and salad. Oh and the best part was that the barkeep offered us a complimentary Amaretto Sour that was absolutely delish! Upon going to the pool the next morning we noticed that someone (later learned it was Alicia) had placed chilled water bottles on our lounge chairs while we were in the pool.
In short everything was perfect, and every attention to detail was provided with great genuine care and concern. Everyone addresses us by name and greeted us with warmly. We were treated like true guests in every respect.

Ritz was a perfect jumping off spot and soft landing for our visit to Palm Springs and surrounding
We take an annual Christmas trip over the actual holiday and this year it was Palm Springs area
As first timers to the area we didn't know what to expect and the Ritz was the perfect place to head out for daily adventures as well as a soft landing in the evening when we were ready to have some dependable creature comforts
Hotel was clean and staff was highly accommodating and kind
While the room was expensive the perks of quality service and quality associates we had the pleasure of encountering were genuine and thoughtful and made this trip worth the gift
Keep up the great work!
Thank you!
