The hotel was a pleasant surprise. Close to restaurants and stores. Very clean, very reasonable price.
Fabulous fitness center …I was the only one in there, maybe 6-8 cardio machines and weights ( and Clorox wipes and water filter station).
Good size room…I had one with two double queen beds overlooking pool.
Generous Free Breakfast from waffles/pancakes to cold cereals ( individual boxes, wrapped muffins and bagels, yogurts, fruit, coffee, juice.
The staff are very friendly.
Free WiFi and free parking.
Would definitely stay again
There was a large group of families staying for a softball tournament with children of all ages around the property, yet we were never aware of noise once in our room.
However, the most irritating part of the stay was the need to negotiate housekeeping every day. During the Covid lockdown, housekeeping was not an option but it is now June 2022 and Covid restrictions are practically non-existent in Murrieta, except at the Hampton Inn.
The first morning of my stay I went to the reception desk and requested housekeeping. I was told “no, this was not my scheduled day,” and that for my 5 day stay, I would get housekeeping on the 4th day (this was over a weekend). I objected and asked for just the bathroom and bar to be refreshed. This, the staff agreed to do. The next day, I had fresh towels, coffee, condiments but nothing in the room was touched. Each morning I went to the desk and asked to be refreshed. On the 3rd day, I was told the housekeepers were very busy and they would try to do the refresh, but no guarantee. On the 4th day, the room was fully cleaned.
Prior to the lockdown, I am sure the Hampton Inn had a daily housekeeping service option, like every other Hampton Inn’s in which I have stayed. With this stay, it felt like the housekeepers had been eliminated during the lockdown and the hotel owners chose to reduce their staff and pull back on services. The rate I paid averaged more than $200/night, not a rate that should exclude daily housekeeping.
East facing rooms get highway noise, almost but not quite droned out by a noisy AC unit. Walls thin enough that we got TV noise and loud conversation from one neighbor until about 1:00am. Strangely missing body wash or soap of any sort for shower, guess you are expected to exit the shower and use the hand soap dispenser? Front desk rude when requesting assistance. Lots of small things added up to my worst hotel stay this year.
It was fixed the next day. No message from the manager about reducing the rate we paid for a room with a major defect. I called back the next day to inquire and again the very nice lady at the front desk let me know that she had spoken to the manager and that bc we had a group rate, no reduction would be granted. I don’t quite follow the logic. We have a contract for an agreed upon rate. The hotel could not live up to their end of the contract. I pay the agreed rate and they profit. I’ll take my business elsewhere and advise our league to do the same.
