The historic Millennium Biltmore Hotel has been a legendary Los Angeles landmark since 1923. With exquisite Spanish-Italian Renaissance architecture, including stunning hand-painted ceilings, it's rich history is most noted for its connection with the Oscars - the founding banquet for the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences was held in the Crystal Ballroom in 1927, where the original "Oscar" statuette was sketched on a Biltmore napkin, and eight Academy Awards banquets were held in the Biltmore Bowl during the '30s and '40s.

This hotel has the WOW factor. It was like stepping back in time to the Roaring Twenties. In fact, crews were filming scenes for two films whilst we were there. Actors in 1930's clothes and the surrounding streets flooded with period cars.
Well worth the extra for a 10th floor Club room which gave access to Club Lounge where breakfast, snacks and drinks could be accessed at any time.
Rooms are well equipped and there is a daily maid service. We found all the staff to be friendly and helpful in giving advice about LA.
The Biltmore is two minutes walk away from Pershing Square which has a station for the Metro so allowing cheap and easy access to the various tourist sites.
We loved this hotel and would certainly return in the future.

I really wish someone would buy this hotel and invest in modernizing and updating the rooms while keeping the amazing staff, location and beautiful common areas.

The Biltmore has a great (albeit pricey) bar that has amazing staff: tonight I had a great bartender Xiaomara that inspired me (through amazing friendly service) to share the quality and friendliness of the customer service at this hotel. But, the great customer service is everywhere here. I literally encountered nothing negative with people in employment or otherwise while at this place for two days. Great staff/ great people!!

Also, the bar has a great (again, pricey) filet mignon dinner (very good actually) and a cognac bar with lots of interesting cognacs and whiskeys (among other dribk varieties) to choose from. The second evening Xiaomara told me a previous customer had the soup (minestrone) 3 evenings in a row and raved about it, so I decided to give it a shot and it was great! Probably the best deal on the menu at $9 for a big bowl of minestrone that is really good!

My only concern about this hotel are the rooms itself because they are pretty basic and you can totally hear the outside traffic and noise because the hotel still has the original windows from 100 years ago I think. With the great people and beautiful commen areas, this place would be perfect if the rooms themselves got updated. They need new windows (dual pane/something to keep the noise out) among other updates and TLC.

Either way, thank you Biltmore staff for a great stay: I will be back because of you all!

The property was absolutely beautiful, the decor and design was out of this world. The pool room was empty and available, however the water was freezing cold probably about 60 degrees which made it virtually impossible to swim in. The fountains also make the room very loud so it's far from relaxing. The river is really nice and seemed very clean, however my biggest complaint is that the hotel is still using decorative pillows. I know that you cannot put these in the washing machine or dryer as it will ruin the machines and the pillow, because of this the only way to properly clean them is to spray them with disinfectant but due to its many porous areas it can be very difficult to clean. The hotel should follow the likes of Marriott, IHG, and Hilton and removing all decorative pillows from the hotel to further help with not spreading the virus.

We spent roughly $100,000 for a wedding and some rooms etc. They overcharged for the rooms, double charged my guests, or people in the wrong not upgraded rooms I paid for, etc etc and even the rooms had things like heater stuck on, one that refused to turn on, TVs not working etc.

The wedding ballrooms were great, the rest... Uggh, don't do it.

After a month I STILL trying to deal with their finance and other departments to get the dang bills fixed, not charged to my guests but my account, hotel fees reversed.

IF they can FIX this mess immediately I'll note this accordingly but right now I'm saying no no, don't do it

First room smelled like cigarette smoke. Second room had no linens. Due to Covid the hotel staff can’t touch your your bags. Since we had dinner reservations we just said bring up linens and would stay in the current room.

Came back from dinner and found a pile of linens on one of the beds. I didn’t realize they expected us to make the beds, and put towels in the bathroom, still had no shampoo and soap.

Went down to the front desk because no one is answering the phones, on both incidents. At one point spoke to the operator but they just transferred us to the hotel front desk which rang for 10 minutes. The operator wasn’t able to help with anything.

Was told by the manager at the front desk that the maid staff wasn’t allowed to touch the linens since we have been in the room. Personally when I check into a hotel I expect the beds to be made and for there to be towels as a minimal requirement. Especially when I’m paying 200+ a night. I also asked for a feather free room and every pillow in the room had feathers.

Currently the valet and room service is closed and the only restaurant property is closed due to Covid. There is a breakfast bar and an alcohol bar in the evening.

They also charge a $25 resort fee but there are no resort amenities. Maybe this covers the Wi-Fi, that’s pretty slow.

$45 self parking (no valet). You must park above the seventh floors.

Bathtub is peeling. In the room needs overall maintenance. Carpet cleaning would be amazing. This hotel really should supply disposable slippers for the guest.

I would have been more satisfied with my stay had they not made false representations and lied to me. If you advertise something you should deliver. I booked under a Labor Day promotion advertising a Complimentary Room Upgrade and Free Parking. When I checked in I was told that parking was not included and would cost $50 a day and I did not receive a room upgrade (I checked online and the hotel's website had nicer rooms available to book so it was not a matter of availability).

I was charged a $49 "amenities fee" although no amenities were available because of COVID restrictions. As a result of COVID no one even came to clean our room. It's disingenuous to add hidden fees for amenities that are not even available.

Clouds of marijuana smoke were coming from a room in our hallway and although I complained to the front desk nothing was done about it. Guests also placed containers of takeout food with remnants of their meal outside their door to be collected and they stayed there for over 24 hours so the hallway smelled like stale fast food.

I called the front desk and asked if I could be brought more pillows (the king sized bed had only three) and was told they cannot bring it up and I would have to go to the front desk. I went down and the employee at the desk said he would see what he could do, and returned with only one pillow claiming he could only find one.

The hotel is gorgeous and had they delivered on their promise or offered even the most basic customer service I would have had a satisfactory stay. I cannot recommend staying here until after the restaurants, pool, health club etc. open and they begin offering housekeeping services again. I also hope their staff learns how to accommodate guests and makes them feel welcome.

I always wanted to stay here because I am a big fan of old Hollywood and I take out of state guests to see their photos of the first Oscars ceremony. The price was decent even with the resort fees the weekend I was able to stay there. It was August 2020. The hotel was beautiful and the room was fine. Here are some things I did not understand about my stay:

The resort fee- The pool was open, but only for certain hours in the day. I would recommend taking a peak at it because it's not your average hotel pool. There was a small snack counter that was open for food. Why is the full resort fee being charged? You're not really getting the whole "resort" experience.

Paying valet parking prices for self parking- When I first arrived there late at night, I ended up looping the building because it was not obvious to go up the self parking ramp. When you go up the elevator, you end up in the lobby of the connected office building and go across the driveway and down a set of stairs. Why am I paying the valet amount to park my own car? I get it and appreciate it during the pandemic not to have valet. The Bonaventure up the street from them discounted the parking for self parking. They even had someone posted at the valet stand to tell the visitor about how the parking will go. This would have been helpful here or at least have someone at the lobby of the office building to help you take your luggage down the set of stairs. What's wrong with having a couple of employees to do this. I'm pretty sure they would have appreciated the work in these hard time.

Hotel lobby and grounds are great. You feel like you are reliving a part of history.

The bar was beautiful and fun to spend time at after dinner.

My business booked for me a deluxe room, but it was not at all deluxe. The room was small, pillows thin, and worse of all, the windows were so thin. I could hear so much of the traffic from below. If you are a light sleeper, make sure you bring ear plugs if you come here.

When I checked in, the nice receptionist asked my credit card for incidentals. At check out, they only asked for my room key and said nothing else. To my surprise, I got a $25 resort/facilities fee after. I understand many hotels are doing this now but it was not clear to begin with. Fees like this need to be disclosed at check in.

This is a older historical hotel. Customer service was great! The hotel lobby is beautiful ! The room is small, bathroom small, everything is old but very well kept! The bed itself wasn’t comfortable. I wouldn’t recommend for a family. A couple for short weekend is idealistic in my opinion. We booked a Deluxe King with city view. We were offered an upgraded additional $55 a day for tenth floors and access to Club Lounge. After we looked at the upgraded room , we opt out and stick with the original room. We were on 7th floor and the room looks exactly the same. The only difference upgrade room has a armored chest, with higher floor. Wasn’t worthy. I would say we were extremely impressed with service at check in. We arrived at 9am and didn’t have to wait til 3pm to get a room. The location super conviennce and safe within walking distance to plenty of eatery! Even when we Lyft anywhere, it literally costs us less than $15. I think our most expensive Lyft ride was to and from LAX ( even that cost us $18) . Overall the stayed was good ! I would stayed here again but it would not be my first choice.

Millennium Biltmore more like a 3 star property. Definitely not a 4. Public spaces are in better shape than the rooms. This is a historic hotel, but it seriously needs a major redo. In our room, there were nicks in the tub, a hole in bathroom door where thelock was to be, holes in the shower curtain which had mold on the bottom,
Towels and bath mats were shredding with threads hanging off the edges,
Paint was coming off the bottom of the sink stand . The doors, especially the bathroom door, were in need of WD40 for the horrible squeaks.
No makeup mirror. Hairdryer is a small travel sized dryer. There is limited shelf space in the bathroom. Shower knob is so loose that if you turn it to hot, the knob falls to cold in a few seconds so you need to hold onto the knob to keep the water on the warm setting. There no switch to control lights other than the one in the entryway. You need to head into a dark room to turn each light off and on.

The room was fairly quiet. You can hear noise from the hallway. It was a decent size.

I notified the front desk at 8:30 am of the need for the doors to be lubricated and the shower knob to be tightened. She said she would take care of it. No one ever did.

The public spaces are much better. A friend who lives there says everyone there knows not to stay as the rooms aren't very nice.

They do tack on a daily per person charge for undefined services. I asked what it included, but the lady at the front desk couldn't tell me. Just raise the room rates instead of adding on hidden charges.

We would not recommend staying here. There are other hotels close by.
