If train travel does not factor into your Los Angeles travel plans, then I definitely do not recommend staying here as there are other much better options. Aside from the hotel itself, the immediate area is not all that great. Lots of homeless people all over the place, who are mostly harmless, but it still always puts me on edge a little, especially at night. Also, there's an empty and rather depressing Chinatown area nearby. My choice for food and drink would be the Mexican themed Olvera Street, which is also nearby.

I think it's very good considering the price and the quality of the hotel.
(Good point)
○ We arrived at the Los Angeles airport in the early hours of the morning, so we checked in early if possible, and were going to leave only our luggage if there was a charge, but the lady at reception was willing to show us around the room for free from 11am, which helped me a lot with my long flight fatigue.
○ As you have written by word of mouth, it is about 5 minutes walk from the station, which is very convenient for sightseeing by subway (traveling by subway was not well received for dangerous people and dirty, but it was OK for multiple people). Dodger Stadium can be reached in about 10 minutes by Uber, and at night, after 22:00, if you take the station side of the street to get back to your hotel, it's not a problem because there are no vagrants (there are multiple vagrants on the other side of the road).
○ There was free coffee in front of the lobby on the first floor and I enjoyed it.
○There was an ice machine and water dispenser (both hot and cold water) on each floor, and I ate cup ramen and put ice in a water bottle and used it many times (the installation situation was very useful as shown in the picture).
(It wasn't good.)
• For Ameriity, you should bring shampoo, conditioner, tooth brushing and body washing equipment, although only shampoo and soap and as per hotel instructions.
○ The facility was old and the walls of the bath were almost torn off.
Getting into the hotel was a challenge in itself as the automatic door was stuck and I had to stand there for 5 minutes until someone let me in.
Check in was fine, the staff member was friendly enough. The lobby isn't particularly welcoming. Just a desk with lots of signs up- you can tell a lot about a place by the amount of poorly worded laminated signs dotted around!
My room was on the 4th floor and the corridors leading from the elevators were very tired and in dire need of an update.
My room echoed these sentiments. Dark patterned carpets which had years worth of marks on them, the bed was extremely hard and had a dark flowery quilt that even my grandparents would have thrown out several decades ago. There was little natural light, few plug sockets and to get to those I had to move the bedside tables revealing an awful lot of dust.
The only decent bits of the room were the ensuites and the WiFi.
There's mention of breakfast on booking, but it didn't appear to exist and there was another of those laminated signs covering the one which detailed the breakfast times.
The hotel is in a good location for the station, Olvera Street and Philippe's, however the surrounding area is rather sketchy and didn't feel safe at night.
It probably goes without saying, I wouldn't return and would much rather stay a bit further away and grab an uber to the station if I ever need to catch a train from LA again and I'd recommend you do the same!
Thank you from John and Mary for a great stay.

King Size bed and good hot water. Ice and filtered water available near elevators
Friendly reception. Will definitely stay here again
