The Luxe Sunset Boulevard Hotel offers travelers a central location for exploring Los Angeles, which is a highlight for many. Guests enjoy the spacious rooms and the hotel's well-maintained grounds, which include a popular pool area. However, some travelers have called out the rooms for being outdated and having poor soundproofing. While the ambiance is considered a blend of luxury and dated charm, the service and value have received mixed reviews, with commendations for staff friendliness balanced by criticisms of hidden fees and instances of unprofessionalism.

At the front desk I met Bernadette and Kelsey. Kind, accommodating, and friendly. I couldn’t have asked for a better price or experience! Thank you to both of them. They 150% made the trip! Absolutely gems of human beings and they deserve a raise.

Overall nice stay for the price, rooms were spacious and clean, breakfast on site was excellent. There were a few small things I found annoying like if you drive yourself and stay in the upper building there is no bell service to take bags from your car to your room. You have to request housekeeping and even when I put the refresh sign out my room wasn’t cleaned. The sign they had for us to hang that said to be quiet while we had our dogs in the room didn’t fit the door handle. There was very cool poolside yoga and outdoor pilates classes on site at a price. Although they are pet friendly they charge a non-refundable $250 for pets (reportedly due to the cleaning they do after a pet stays). When I went to check out they had (I think) accidentally charged me $250 for each night so had to reverse $500 from my 3 night stay. When 8 had checked in I was told it was a one-time $250 fee which already seemed quite high to me. Luckily the front desk agent had no problem reversing the extra charges. The front desk, pool bartender, and breakfast servers were all lovely helpful and extremely pleasant. You could sort of get the sense this hotel is picking up volume directly after pandemic and may need to iron out some wrinkles. Overall we had a nice experience and lovely stay and felt the value for the price was good.

The Luxe is ideally situated on a hill off of Sunset Blvd and the 405 freeways, very close to restaurants in Brentwood and the surrounding areas but for a conference you can't beat it. The facility is immaculate, so when conference attendees arrive it is a pleasure. Everyone is just lovely, kind and patient.

Their conferences are extremely well run. The parking lot gets very crowded, but the valet are extremely efficient and professional. Judith, who runs catering is just feet away and is constantly there making sure everything is operating smoothly. The ballroom looks beautiful, the wait staff is fast and very willing to get attendees whatever they want. I've been using this space since 2005 for different events, in different rooms, and have never had an issue. Not one. Allergies - very accommodating. Kosher? They have a full kosher kitchen so they don't even need to send out. Cleanliness? It is seriously immaculate, fresh water everywhere. They understand hospitality.

I took advantage of their online summer and booked a junior suite to escape the heat and focus on a very important work project. So glad I did. The room was spacious and well-appointed. I loved the large tub, separate shower, great work area and patio. They seemed to have their covid precautions and systems well in place. I loved the ability to be able to easily order room service either by ipad in my room or event by text at the pool. Ever member of the staff I interacted with from reception to valet to room service was incredibly efficient, friendly, and made me feel like a well valued customer. I even extended my stay an additional night. I will definitely be back. Also: the pool is great, they have cabanas avail to rent and during covid they have workout machines outside you can reserve and they thoroughly clean between usage. I also really enjoyed that although it's right on Sunset, there's a bit of seclusion in the middle of the city so if you are looking for that peace and quiet or escape it's perfect.

Met by Richard the Valet Manager upon arrival in my Lyft vehicle.
He promptly greeted me warmly, and retrieved my bags from the trunk and escorted me into the Hotel reception area to check in.

This was my first visit for a 2-day stay and Richard's prompt, courteous, warm and professional service was very much appreciated. Sometimes I need a little extra assistance.

Check in was seamless and non stressful.
Unfortunately the restaurant and bar were still closed from the state-mandated "Stay at Home order. Bummer!

I've enjoyed the Sunday brunch music and ambiance of the "open" area al fresco seating several times and was looking forward to the dining experience. So I was on my own for meals. After a 2nd request, i did get suggestions for an Italian Restaurant in the area which delivered to the hotel. The food was delicious plentiful and was delivered earlier than estimated!

My first floor Superior Double accommodations (which included a patio) was clean, well appointed, and appeared to be recently remodeled (no carpet
replaced by engineered wood floors). The only thing I'd suggest is installation of Plexiglas partitions or some type of privacy screen between the outside patio areas of the rooms for privacy.

Once I decompressed, my visit to the LUXE was restful, peaceful, and rejuvenating.
I've 2 additional reservations for respites later in the year which I'm looking forward to experiencing at the LUXE.

Though conveniently located off Sunset and the 405, it's located in a primarily residential area...west of UCLA in the Bel Air area, so it's exactly as I'd hoped: pleasantly Quiet!

***A special thanks to "Richard" the conscientious, respectful Valet Manager. and also to "Gabriel", the night Reception Desk manager who graciously assisted me with activating the complimentary hotel wifi on my iphone! I'm a "sometimes technically challenged senior citizen" :)

Stayed here one night for a wedding we were attending. It also happened to be our anniversary. From the moment we arrived, the valet person was so friendly and accommodating as well as the front desk staff who easily upgraded our room and allowed for a very late check out. Special shout out to Javier, the front desk manager, for the above perks as well as the gift of surprise chocolate strawberries and champagne in our room after we returned from dinner. This was so thoughtful and really made us feel as though the staff takes pride in serving their guests.

The rooms are huge, very clean and bed very comfortable. Has a nice quiet outdoor patio too. Cannot beat the location, a minute off the 405 freeway, but so quiet in the room you could hear a pin drop.

Highly recommended.

Luxe Sunset location is perfect, 15 minutes to beach via Sunset Blvd, 15 min to Beverly Hills. The hotel itself and rooms are upscale and clean, everything seems very well thought out. What sets the property apart is the PEOPLE. The entire staff (and I mean everyone) from valet to room service are super focused on customer experience and committed to making your visit enjoyable. I've been to the Luxe a few times and it has been the same wonderful experience each time...I cannot Thank the Luxe team enough for my stay this past weekend.

All excited about returning to the hotels that we have loved so much our family plans to go to LA and stay at the Luxe. Prices were higher than pre-COVID. Upon check in, I realized LA has come back to norm as no one at the reception was masked. First night a TV nearby was blasting for several hours until we called and they shut it down. The first morning I went to use the gym which is now outdoors by the pool. They have the set up for awning, but no shade, sun hitting the bike made it impossible to work out. Later we went to the pool, and it looked more like a community pool than a hotel pool. So it turns out they have an arrangement for subsidizes housing with the county. Hotels had to do that to survive. But they need to manage the transition. I asked them to hold housekeeping services because I take my own pillows and sanitize the room myself. They forgot! And I found 2 people cleaning the room. I asked if they were vaccinated one said she was, but the other it was her first day and she said she wasn’t. So I had to air out the room and sanitize again. They were hugely understaffed, and they are using the slow pandemic period to do construction. So the bar/lounge in the lobby is a construction zone. We thought we should hang out in the garden. It was clearly abandoned and dirty and unkept. I understand everyone is coming back from a difficult year, but not sure if I would pay full fee for this kind of an experience. See pictures. I think you should wait before you come to this hotel. Not a good place to be at this time.

We stayed for 1 night in a superior king room while attending a wedding in LA. Our room was very clean, quite large, contained a comfortable bed and pillows, and had nice, cold A/C. The shower had excellent water pressure, we had a little table and chairs on the first floor patio outside our sliding glass door, and the bedside tablet was a cool feature. The robes in the closet were also very comfy! We utilized the pool in the evening and especially appreciated the fact that it was well-heated. We also had breakfast in the hotel restaurant, which was delicious. The staff members we encountered were all friendly & helpful. I was very impressed with the value of the room/amenities for such a reasonable price. The location of the hotel is great if you are exploring West LA. Would definitely stay here again and will recommend to anyone who needs a hotel in this vicinity!
