I stayed here on New Year's Eve. The bed was very comfortable (better than the other 2 hotels I stayed in before and after on the same trip) The free breakfast was really good. Hot waffles with fresh fruit. I stayed at a different motel the following night for $60 more and wished that I was back at the Knights Inn.
Cons: sketchy people hanging around in front of the hotel, and in front of the liquor store directly across the street, staff at breakfast seemed to be in a bad mood, breakfast was served in styrofoam and plastic.

The area is slightly seedy but the hotel was quiet - 2 night stay. Rug was stained and a repair in teh bathtub was poorly grouted, but otherwise fine. Breakfast was satisfactory ... nothing hot except a waffle that had to be made by staff. Could have had some donuts, bagels, etc. Price was good compared to other places in the area. Hotel is open to potential street people but was oky when I was there.

Clean, neat and trendy. Was very surprised at the price that it was very nice. The 2 stars mean it does not have a lot of amenities, but the beds were great, the room clean [the furniture was nicked, but really not seriously an issue]. Would stay here again. Free parking so close to downtown was a plus, and it's very close. Would definitely stay here again.

The front desk clerk was unprofessional and made us extremely uncomfortable. He went on a long tangent about some historical show he was watching, holding our room key hostage while we were trying to check in at night. We tried to politely end the conversation multiple times unsuccessfully. The opening to this tangent was repeatedly telling us about how Saint Nicholas "slapped a h-" and "slapped a b-tch." I couldn't believe he was using that kind of language with us. I curse plenty in my everyday life, but using that type of derogatory language with customers is unacceptable.

Then we finally get to the room, and it's not clean. There was gunk on one of the towels, a red substance that looked like perhaps blood?? smeared in the bathroom on the wall and the door handle. We tried to clean it off, and some of it did come off on just a wet towel, so clearly nobody had even tried to clean the most obvious of filth, so the rest of the room was probably even dirtier. The bed only had two small strange square pillows, the room smelled bad like it had been smoked in, and there wasn't a chain lock on the door, so we felt unsafe from the bad vibes during our first interaction checking in.

We decided to leave and just go somewhere else. The same clerk guessed (correctly) which room number it was when we told him about the red stuff, and he just looked dismissive and said "that's not blood." So clearly they knew it was there and didn't bother cleaning it. Disgusting.

Hotel is on the older side, and rooms are basic, but very conveniently located (walking distance) to Dodgers Stadium (where I attended the BackPink concert) and also walking distance to Little Tokyo/Japantown. Koreatown is a longer walk, or short Uber ride. The staff were very friendly and helpful.

Ok i been to a few hotels in la area from nice to horrible. So im rateing this a 5 star on a budget hotel and compare to the other hotels around the area meaning hollywood and downtown lA im not gonna compare it to the high end hotel but just the budget ones.. Ok the price is good even for the summer time you can get at least for under 100 bucks its usaually ranges from 77 go 90 dollars but if you do it in day or two adavnce but it will go over 100 if you do it the day of and this place gets sells out fast recomend day of..compare to Hollywood and downtown most budget hotels are close to 200 dollars. Ok the rooms are clean there is a fridge and cable tv ac..wifi worked fine when i was there.. Breakfast was very basic but a little more than some budget hotel but that proably saves on the cost of the hotel . the hotel is in between downtown and hollywood close to dodger stadium. If your doing the tourist thing or buisness.. I would leave your car in there underground parking its secure..and i would uber or lyft everwere or do a 10 min walk to the metro . uber or lyft to downtown if you do the pool is like 3 to 5 dollars and to hollwood it can be 5 to 10 dollars but still saves on parking..and avoiding driving in traffic. The rooms were fine and clean yes it might look outdated but so do all the other budget hotel look. If you want to fix it up too look brand spanking new well than the prices would go. They have cable tv flat screen bath and shower . they only modern thing they did not have was a microwave.the area was ok they did not have anywere right by the hotel if you wanted to get something to eat just like a bakery and liqor store but with all thesee apps that you can get stuff deliver it was no problem getriing something.. If you just need a home base like sleep and shower and place to rest inbtween things this place is good . so i give it a 5 stars for a budget hotel not for high end hotel..it allows you to save on your money...

We stayed at this hotel due to its proximity to Dodger Stadium and the favorable reviews on Tripadvisor. We were very pleased with out stay here and would definitely stay again. The hotel staff was very friendly and knowledgeable, providing information and maps of the area, telling us the walking route from Dodger Stadium, as well as arranging a cab for us. The room was very spacious, MUCH larger than I was expecting. (We had a room with two beds.) It was very clean. The beds were very comfortable and had pillow top mattresses. We had free a mini-fridge that came in very handy, although we did not have a microwave. Free wifi was also provided. Our room had a balcony with a table and chairs that, as the person at the front desk said, had a great view of the 101 freeway. Ha. The freeway noise didn't bother me, probably because we had the air conditioning going all the time, but also because I'm not generally bothered by noises like that. The room came with free breakfast, although we did not take advantage of that. The only thing that needed improvement was the bathroom. It could have used a fresh coat of paint, as well as maybe one of those curved shower rods to give a bit more room. But... the water in the shower was consistently hot, and I find that lacking in a lot of inexpensive hotels.

About the neighborhood: we didn't quite know what to expect, as some of the reviews had indicated the neighborhood wasn't the greatest. However, we did not find that to be a problem, even though the both of us traveling are women. Admittedly, I grew up in a Hispanic neighborhood in another city in southern California, so I felt very comfortable. Directly across the street is a Mexican bakery that serves not only pandulces (not had one? Try one--sweet rolls and breads, but not TOO sweet), along with what looked to be AMAZING Mexican food. There is a convenience store across the street that sells bottles of water for $1.00. Yep, ONE DOLLAR. There is a CVS drugstore about 1/4 mile away and while we were walking to that, we also found a little hole in the wall restaurant serving pupusas! (Never had one of those either? Oh man, *definitely* treat yourself: a handmade corn tortilla stuffed with your choice of fillings [beans, cheese, pork, etc].) We were only there for a short time but had we been there longer, we definitely would have gone back there. There are a few other restaurants around but we were saving our appetites for Dodger Dogs and popcorn (and we were NOT disappointed!).

So the neighborhood itself is not fancy. These are just hard working middle class nice people. I never felt uncomfortable at all walking around there. Okay, that's not true. I was miserable from the heat and the humidity, but that's another story. But get out of your comfort zone a bit and smile and talk to people. Everyone was very friendly and helpful.

Another note: if you're looking for a place to take a nice walk, less than half a mile away is a beautiful lake (Echo Park Lake). Large lake, lovely fountain, water lilies and lotuses (which I had never seen before and was fascinated by), even pedal boats for rent. Great way to start your day with a few laps around the lake.

So I realize I've written more than just a review of the hotel, but I don't want people to be scared off by what they perceive to be a bad neighborhood. It's not Rodeo Drive, but it's not the skids either. It's just a regular neighborhood full of regular people.

And just a couple other tips: a shuttle from LAX to the hotel was $38 for two people one way (I *think*). A cab from the hotel to Dodger Stadium was under $10. (We took a cab to the game and then walked home because it was too hot and humid to walk during the day. We're wimps.) Next time we go we may look into flying in to Burbank, which is closer. It might save some money on the shuttle to the hotel.

So, bottom line: clean room, helpful staff, close to Dodger Stadium, and a great price. We may make this trip a regular thing, so we'll be back to Knights Inn!

I booked this hotel through priceline and when I arrived I didn't feel safe. BAD area, there were bars around the building had to be buzzed in. The front desk was rude, the internet was down no air conditioning, smelly and dirty. They couldn't give me the requested beds. I left saying I wasn't staying there. She reassured me I wouldn't be charged, but sure enough I was charged and never seen any of the money. I felt right ripped off! Save your money time and frustration and avoid this dump. It really should be shut down!

If you want to be near the union station and the staples arena and are not looking to spend a whole lot this is your hotel, The staff was very nice, (they need to hire a new cab service though ) because they failed me big time on NYE.. They offer your standard continental breakfast, i was there 4 days and I wasn't offered any new towels or soaps but I did have my own, the metro bus is about a mile up the street, When i needed to cancel and go home 2 days early they did reimburse me, I liked the staff. the set up of the hotel is not usual but i guess that makes it unique. rooms were pretty clean, beds were kinda hard and remote tv was very slow. internet was good!!

My family recently stayed at the Knights Inn on a trip from Australia last month. This was our second stay at the Knights Inn. As usual, we were all very impressed. A great hotel in a great location. The staff and manager George were very kind and helpful, and went out of their way to ensure we had everything we needed. You can tell the manager and staff take pride in the hotel. We would recommend the Knights Inn to anybody, and look forward to returning there again on our trip to LA next year. Thank you George and the team at the Knights Inn, LA. From the Phillips family, Sunshine Coast, Australia.

it depends on your what your walking distant is.. it's about 2.4. mile from the hotel it's a long walk. by Uber or lyft it's only a 6 min drive. they say for an avg Walker it takes about 49 min. but there is a bus stop from the hotel I think it takes about 30 min.. it is walkable if your talking about the LA downtown convention center

Dear Jessy505, There is public transportation right in front of our Hotel, MTA bus lines 92 and 10 that take you to the the train station (red line) that drops you right by Universal studios. You can purchase a day pass ( Tap Card) for 7 dollars and you can use that for a combination of bus and train rides for 24 hours. It is economical and safe and you avoid traffic and the 20 dollar parking fee at Universal Studios. If you have additional question please don't hesitate to call us we will do everything to make your stay with us and Los Angeles very enjoyable. George/Manager

You can either walk, a 15-20 minute walk or take your car a 5 minute drive. Usually our guests walk to the stadium since it takes a while to exit after the game. Whatever your preference we are here to assist you to make your stay memorable.!! George Manager

Hi How easy would it be to get to Dodger stadium safely
Answer from George N
Glendale, California, United States
Hello Alicia, Dodger Stadium is located about a mile away from the Hotel. Most people walk to the stadium(15 minute walk) and it is a safe walk. If you prefer by car is a 4 minute drive to get there but it will be about 30 minutes to exit the stadium after the game.

Our Hotel is Located exactly 18 miles from Lax. There are three was to get to our Hotel from any terminal at Lax. 1. A taxi... Average cost 50.00 dollars 2. Super Shuttle Door to door Service for $29.00 dollars. You can also use Prime Time a competitor of Super Shuttle. Price is also 29.00 dollars. They pick up from all 7 Terminals 3. The most economical way will be to take the BIG FLYAWAY bus that brings you to Downtown Los Angeles for 8.00 dollars. The final destination in Downtown is Union Station which is 2.0 miles from our Hotel. From there you have the option of a city bus @ 1.75 or a short taxi ride for about 7 dollars if you have a lot of luggage. If you need any further assistance, please do not hesitate to contact me directly at 323-424-2957 George Normar Manager
