Detailed Reviews
Returning customer for the third time. Friends and family enjoy staying at the BLVD Hotel and Spa in Studio City for the local attractions, music and great food. Within a few block walk the legendary cabaret The Baked Potato. Sushi Dan is a favorite for Sashimi and Sushi (Happy Hour is a must) and Ralph’s for produce for the fridge. Many other great places for breakfast , lunch and dinner dinning in the area. The staff always go above and beyond to keep us happy, indoor parking for your rental car but car services and public transportation(bus and subway) are very close.
Tip:When staying for extended stays in Studio City and then visiting other areas of California we Uber locally and arrange for a car rental any day before departure. A single bus(the 222 )for $1.75 can get you to the hotel or Burbank Airport. The Studio City Metro rail station is also a few block walk. Final word, the new coffee machine in the lobby had a cup hot and ready in the AM.

Came here for location and ratings to Universal Studios with family of 4 (2 kids 7m/10m). Check in staff was friendly and although a bit pricey, little market was well stocked for both adults and kids to not have to leave. Pool was a little too cold to swim in but we showed up late and had an early morning ahead of us.
Ordered some drinks with G at the bar after we checked in and he did not disappoint. Matter fact, he left a dad on vacation wanting more lol. Once kids were asleep and wife was catching up on work, made my way down for a night capper. G is down to earth and chill and made me feel like I was back home at my local pub. Will definitely be back.

I had an amazing experience during my stay at this hotel! It was my girlfriend’s first visit, and our friend Jesus G., who works here, suggested we stay at this wonderful spot. I'm so glad we took his advice. The location was ideal—just a short walk from City Walk, where we enjoyed a late-night stroll and dined at a delightful Italian restaurant.
The next day, we easily walked to the Metro (Red Line) and explored the vibrant La Placita Olvera and Little Tokyo. The hotel itself was impeccably clean, and the staff couldn’t have been friendlier. Overall, it was the perfect place for our getaway.
I wholeheartedly recommend staying here. Thank you, Jesus, for the fantastic recommendation and warm hospitality!

The BLVD used to be our go-to hotel when we visit Universal Studios but the past 2 visits have been well below our expectations for basic customer service. The time before this visit, we stayed SEVEN nights and only got housekeeping ONE time. We followed the instructions in the room to let them know if we did NOT want housekeeping, but ended up not getting housekeeping because the actual policy is to let them know if you DO WANT housekeeping. I complained multiple times to the front desk during our stay, but somehow still was not put on the list for housekeeping. They claimed that housekeeping called to confirm, but who knows when this phone call was supposed to be? This time around, we opted to just not have housekeeping for our shorter stay and requested extra toiletries at check in to not have the hassle of running out. The front desk person Omar said he would send someone up in a couple minutes with our requested items, but no one ever came. We had to go back down after 30 minutes to ask a different person and turns out all the items we asked for were available at the front desk the whole time. I don't know what it is, but this huge disconnect between staff and guests is not acceptable. We will not be staying here ever again.

While I understand location impacts price, to know how much I paid for this room and what the service and product was, I’ve paid significantly less and gotten so much more in a hotel. The room I ordered had a pull out couch bed, but when I arrived they had no more of them. The service fees and parking were not what was advertised on the website and they literally scratched it out on the paper at the front desk and showed the new price. Again, I understand inflation is happening everywhere, but then update that on your website. I definitely would not have booked there had I known these added fees were not part of the price AND they were higher than advertised. THEN when I asked for an extra sheet, blanket and pillow, I was told they can’t give us any until someone else comes in to work. Eventually I got it, but had to wait until 11:00pm to do so. The room faced hwy 101 and was loud. The parking garage is a nightmare. And the next day our neighbor’s room flooded and water was everywhere in the hallways, even all the way downstairs into the parking garage. As stated, I know we are in Hollywood, but for that experience and I paid $100 or even $200 a night…maybe I could justify it. But I paid significantly more for a Monday and Tuesday night. Thanks, but never again.

This hotel was perfection and very close to Universal Studios, The hotel and room seemed clean and staff were very friendly which was a plus the only problems were the air conditioning and bathroom and pillows, The Air Con I feel like hadn't been cleaned in a while and we had very very bad sore throat and sneezing like crazy as soon as we walked in, The bathroom was spacious however when we turned the water on the rain fall would leak down even when the tap position was just for the hand held part of the shower head and the pillows were unfortunately very lumpy and uncomfortable, But in saying don't let this deter you from staying it could of just been our room that was like that. Also liked the fact the damage deposit was returned to my account less than 24hrs which was very helping when flying back to Australia I had money in my account as soon as I landed. I would return to this hotel.

I am currently staying here for a surprise trip for my kids to universal studios. I was sold by the pictures, that there was a pool and that it was walkable distance to universal studios.
Unfortunately I am regretting staying here immensely.
1. The pool my kids were excited to go in the front desk staff were surprised we were going and had to unlock it for us and said umm it’s unheated. My kids put their foot in and it was an instant no.
2. The beds are so uncomfortable, you can feel the springs in the mattress, like you are staying in a motel or something. The pillows are these small squares that are lumpy and hard, not what you would expect for “hotel” pillows.
3. The well to universal isn’t really a direct walk, it’s a walk to a shuttle. So if you’re planning for an exact time you want to get there, don’t think just walking time like they state.
4. I’ve never had such a confusing shower experience, there’s literal instructions.
Feels like such a waste of money spent on this trip but what to do at this point.

I was looking for a place to stay for Horror Nights and this was perfect. I was traveling with 2 other friends and we booked this place for Thursday night. I really enjoyed how easy the parking was, I didn't have to go up a big structure like at universal, it was all on one floor. After checking in we were able to enjoy some drinks at the bar. They don't have an extensive wine list, so we ordered lemon drops and martinis which were 10/10. Our bartender Savanna was attentive and friendly. Afterwards we were able to walk to universal studios which only took around 6 minutes to their tram that then brought us right to the front entrance.
The room itself felt more like a condo than a hotel, so I would recommend if you like more of a "homey" feel instead of luxury. The location is also the best, saved us from having to pay for parking at the park.

Ok so there are a few upsides and downsides to this hotel. Firstly the positive, it was 5 mins walk to Universal Studios, the metro, 20 mins walk to Millennium Dance Complex, large rooms (Queen double suite), and there is an awesome Taco restaurant next door and lots of other food options and pubs close by! Downsides, the homeless outside, they were just everywhere but did not harass us at all, the room floor needed a good mop as it was gross, $18 per night expected on check in for gratuities...however, no housekeeping as they were short of staff so what did I pay the $18 per night for???) The pool is in the carpark, staff were often seen arguing with people at the front desk, no food options at the hotel. Room had a fridge, microwave and coffee machine however no boiling water for tea. Upon asking they gave me a cup for free (maybe part of the exorbidant gratuity fees???). Overall it was fine for our needs but would not rush back. Good location if staying one to two nights for Universal.

I booked this hotel on Expedia ( 2 rooms) then called the hotel to confirm the room types. King double suites with private patio next door to each other. I got a verbal and email confirmation.
Upon arrival the hotel it looked like it’s under construction. They added 18 dollars a night fee to make sure employees were being rewarded for their work and a whopping 30 dollar parking fee. What ever, it’s late and we pay it. We arrived up to our rooms and first they were not next to each other, second only one room had a patio. The other room had a cement roof over the car park. The furniture was not in great shape and the shower was moldy. When we questioned why only one room had a balcony after paying so much for the room… reply was” we can’t have all the rooms the same” even though the pictures and email confirmed it. No management and only one employee at the desk. Very unfortunate

I would avoid staying here if honest. No storage facility, no shower facilities either. Place is not great
No free breakfast.
No you won't. I use a bicycle to get around LA and they have never charged me the parking fee.
I don't know. I think you can ask hotel management for this question.
Not 100% sure... but I would assume YES
