What a pleasant surprise to find a boutique hotel that is part of the large Marriott group! The service is warm and faultless. The decor is well-appointed. The standard room is the size of a junior suite. View a sunset from a west side room. A jewel for a location near the convention centre. Tip: Ubers are challenged by the location, having the same street address as the Marriott but around the corner - plan a pickup from the Marriott or give instructions to pickup on Georgia street south of Olympic.

Check-in was a breeze, though I wish Landon had done a better job at explaining all the amenities and features of the hotel, as we had to come back down for further explanations. Danny, bellman who assisted us with our bags into the room went over majority of the features in the room, minus the TV screen on the bathroom mirror, wow! Once checked in I was able to do Mobile key entry which was used multiple times.

Room: We had a king sized room with views of the Staples Center& Toyota center/arena with the billboards shinning in our room at night but thanks to the blackout curtains, our room didn’t stay lit up. The bed was soft with fluffy pillows, take that for what its worth. They desk area was nice enough with a table and couch which I spent time reading on. The room came with a mini fridge, Nespresso machine (original), safe, robes & the bathroom had separate shower and soaking tub. We didn’t utilize the mirror TV but it was cool nonetheless.

Check-out: we did it via the TV along with viewing our bill. Call early if you’ll need the luggage cart to lug your stuff out of the room.

Fitness room: It’s located on the 26th floor along with the outdoor pool & jacuzzi (which were nice and offered nice views). They have majority of the major exercise equipment and weight sets. They even had two Peloton bikes. While running on the treadmill or elliptical you have views of the Hollywood sign and the downtown ongoings.

Overall we had a great weekend stay and tried to take part in all the activities the $20-30 fee charged to the room. We did the wine tasting at the JW Marriot which is attached to the hotel. It only included one wine for the each of us (2 wines, a red and white) so not really a tasting but we took part, none the less. We also went across the street for free popcorn. Unfortunately we didn’t make it to the Grammy Museum.

I stayed at the Ritz Carlton in Downtown LA on New Years Eve and I was not disappointed. From the moment I entered the hotel I was greeted by friendly valets, doormen, and hotel staff. They offered me a complimentary beer at check in, which was a great start to the night. My co workers and I then went to an LA Kings game before coming back to the Ritz for dinner and drinks. The hotel staff was more than willing to accommodate our request for 30 tequila shots and 30 beers. We drank a little at the room, then went downstairs to the bar and danced the night away before coming back to the room and ordering hamburgers from room service. The burgers were delicious! Everything about my new years eve was fantastic, and the staff of the Ritz only helped enhance my experience by providing us with an amazing room, great service, and amenities. I wish I didn't have to check out! I can't wait to stay there again for another holiday weekend. What an excellent choice! I see why people brag about staying here, the hype is real!

Stayed overnight at the Ritz to attend an event nearby. Was given an early check in and upgraded to a beautiful suite with a sweeping city view. Unfortunately, The windows are very thin so you have to keep the draperies drawn as the air conditioner is not strong enough to cool the room during the day. The thin windows also mean you hear street noise from the freeway 24/7. Luckily I brought earplugs but if I hadn’t, I would’ve had a hard time sleeping at night. This is an extremely small hotel occupying four floors in a building that is shared with the JW Marriott and some private residences. There is a tiny lobby, a small rooftop pool with a bar that remained closed, a nice gym and spa, however pretty much everything else is in the JW lobby which is a bit of a mob scene, not very luxurious to stand in line and nowhere near enough tables and chairs to serve the volume of guests they receive. The hotel is clearly understaffed, as there was no bellman or valet on arrival (I had to leave my bags on the curb), only one person at the front desk, rarely did anyone answer the phone when I called down from the room, and to get a bellmen to check out took over an hour. I know the hotel industry is facing a lot of labor problems, but for the prices charged here, there is no excuse not to be fully staffed, and if your bar is not going to be open, room service should be able to deliver drinks to the room rather than making me go downstairs and stand in line in the JW lobby to get a $72 cocktail in a plastic cup.

We recently stayed at a handful of Ritz-Carlton properties, which is why this one feels a bit like it doesn't belong.

Location — It's in Downtown, which was expected. However, it's also connected to the JW Marriott (physically located, you can walk between the two hotels) and they occasionally share amenities (e.g. if one of the pools is out of service).

In-Room Dining — We had a mixed experience. Dinner was quick and decent, but when we ordered two bottles of water at 10pm, it took them 45 minutes to bring them up. Notably, I called after 30 minutes complaining about the issue and asking not to get disturbed anymore since we would go to sleep. Instead of offering a speedy delivery, all we got was an "OK" — with staff knocking on our door 15 minutes later (with us in bed). The optimal experience here would obviously have been to offer a speedy delivery and apologize for the issue.

Housekeeping — Top notch, and incredibly friendly. Zero complains.

Valet — The guys are friendly, but slow. We called asking for the car to be brought around. They said "we will bring it up straight away" — 20 minutes later, the car was still not out. Instead, luxury after luxury car was given what felt like preferential treatment. Managing expectations here would be nice.

Rooms — Nice, quiet (at least the corner city view room), comfortable bed and OK views. Hollywood sign and Griffith Observatory in the (far) distance.

Front Desk — Nice staff. Definitely more of a city hospitality than in San Fran or Palm Springs. But they did offer champagne and water on arrival, and water whenever we pass by which is nice.

Generally, for the same nightly price as in Palm Springs and San Francisco, we think that this property does not live up to the Ritz-Carlton standard. Next time we'd choose another Marriott Bonvoy property to get better service/value for money.

First off my reservations was mixed up by the call in staff through the Marriott, who had me booked at another Marriott property, when I clearly asked for reservations at the Ritz Carlton Marina Del Rey. They booked me at another Marriott Property in Marina Del Rey which was entirely wrong.
The Ritz Carlton was very disappointing from the time I registered at the front desk. Because I did not have the reservations I thought, one of the desk agents gave me a quote on rooms higher than the agent prior to him 5 mins before…then after I decide to book the room, he then charges me full price for the 7 day stay and incidentals and I hadn’t been there 5 mins. What the hell, I was not going to run out!!! When I addressed it with the manager, he said that was their policy, if I was using a “debt card”…that pissed me off!!! I wasn’t using a debt card.. and how dare you think I was, so you charged the entire amount thinking I was using a debt card. I really felt I was not wanted at the hotel and I decided to check out 1 hour after informing the Manager on duty what had happen. After speaking to him he stated it was their policy to charge the entire bill upon arrival. Because I have traveled the world, I know this not to be true.. and for you to blatantly suggest that this is policy…I’m throughly disappointed. Anyway, this matter will be taken up with a higher chain of command, as I feel I was being profiled by staff, as a business owner and a highly respected professional I am highly disappointing and it started my vacation off on a bad note.. Ritz Carlton Marina Del Rey is classless.. don’t waste your time. I left and went to a better property in Beverly Hills don’t play with me!

I stayed here in October 2021 and was amazed by the service and quality of the property. Staff went out of their way to help me and I received an amazing room assignment at check-in with incredible views of the Hollywood sign.

The bathroom is extremely well equipped and the Ritz bed was like sleeping on a cloud.

Breakfast is at the connected JW and the buffet was outstanding,.

Highly recommend this property and will definitely return.

We stayed at the RCLA after a cruise out of Long Beach. I made the reservation on the web site for a club level king suite using Marriott points. I had three other people with me so I considered booking a second room. I noticed on the web site that there was a suite with two queens available, but not for points. I called the hotel and asked if my reservation could be switched to the suite with two queens. I was willing to pay for this, but the change was complimentary, thank you, RC. We arrived at the property at around 10:30 am. I had requested early check-in and was accommodated. Again, nice job.

We enjoyed all our meals in the club lounge. The breakfast was the best. The other food was a little fancy for me but good. This was my first time experiencing the lounge and I will try not to ever go without it. The lounge attendants were genuinely friendly.

The room was spacious, but the layout was a little strange. You enter the room through the foyer, then into the main bedroom area. Off the bedroom was a small nook that had a desk with a chair and a large TV on the wall. The main bedroom area had two queen beds, a large couch, a TV and a sitting area. It would have been nice if the couch was a pull-out but it wasn't. The bed was very comfortable.

The bathroom had a large, deep tub and a large shower. There were lots of soaps and lotions provided. I'd like to see the hotels get away from the single-use products somehow.

I was very happy with my stay at the RCLA. Everything was wonderful.

We had a wonderful stay at the Ritz Carlton in downtown Los Angeles, despite all the restrictions in place due to Covid-19. The staff was attentive and our room was a wonderful space to return to after being out around the city all day. Currently, services are limited and the Club Lounge, fitness centers, pool, and all other amenities outside of the room are closed, but we understand that the company is doing all that it can to help people feel safe during this time. I look forward to returning when we can take advantage of all that the hotel has to offer. As parents of a college student near DTLA, we have stated in several hotels in the area to be near campus, and our stay at the Ritz Carlton DTLA was by far our best experience.
