First off, the staff did a good job. Answered all/any questions. Good job. As for the hotel, it needs HELP!!!! Realize it is just plain old. Sure needs remodeled.. The carpet in our room, just plain nasty. No coffee pot in room, or in the main lobby. Could be better. Again, the staff did a GOOD JOB. Thank- you.
THE GOOD: location, bed was comfortable, staff was helpful THE BAD: very dirty, no linens or soap in room had to ask several times, no towels for pool, hallways wreaked of weed, very suspicious activities taking place in parking lots at all hrs, VERY happy we were traveling without our children or would have checked out soon after arrival, would not recommend this hotel
Let me start by saying that this review has very little to do with the staff. I think they did their best under the circumstances. This review also does not have anything to do with COVID-19 restrictions. My comments are solely regarding the property itself. We reserved a “classic King” room thinking that it was a standard room and very economically priced. The first thing we noticed was the smell, the second thing was black spots on the carpet. I called the office and told them that the room was not acceptable and that I would pay for an upgrade in the tower. We moved to the Tower to a Deluxe King Room. The curtains were torn. There was a deep red stain on the carpet and yes…. those black spots were there too. The bathroom however was spotless. We spent as little time there as possible. There was some sort of police action the morning we left. 4 squad cars…not surprising as there were beer bottles and lots of trash in the parking lot. Please take my review to heart and DO NOT STAY in this hotel. Yes, it is cheap for Long Beach but not worth it even if it was free!…
We booked a stay for a week and upon arrival we did have a minor plumbing issue which was resolved very quickly. The room was clean and had a beautiful balcony where we could sit and enjoy watching our children swim. After a couple of days we found out our work was going to end before the date that we booked so we went to speak with Tyler who was very friendly and helpful. He got us a refund for our early departure. He also got us a great deal for a future stay where we will be staying for 2 weeks. We highly recommend this hotel due to the cleanliness and the awesome customer service from the office personnel. Thank you Tyler for all your help.
March 8th 2020 I headed out for my vacation of a lifetime. 4 days at the Disneyland Grand Hotel, 20 days at Golden Sails Hotel all to celebrate my 60th birthday my family in California. Driving 3,242 miles from UpState New York to the Anaheim Hilton Hotel for a day of before starting this great adventure the hostess informs me that just 30 minutes earlier Disneyland announced they will be closing affective March 14 till April 30th. March 14th the day of my birthday. I was stranded, I called Golden Sails for a room for the days I would won not be at Disneyland. They understood the craziness that was happening and gave me a room at the discounted rate plus gave me an upgraded room. Thank you for easing my pain. I had prepaid for my 20 day stay at Golden Sails and when all of the restrictions and closures were put into effect my family and I could not go anywhere nor do anything. I made the decision it was time to go home. Again Golden Sails did the right thing and refunded me my unused money with NO cancelation fees at all. The room was very clean. The maid comes in very day to clean. Every staff member was great. I will be staying there next year for my repeat of my Birthday Trip. Wish me better luck. The pillows are not good but I found the pillows even at the Hilton are the same ones. So I don't know why that all across the USA from Best Western to the Hilton they are using crappy pillows.…
